Salamat sa info. Pwede kaya ipakabit ko na lang yung outside-bought speakers sa dealer kapag nag-pacentral lock? Kaso naiisip ko din na sa labas na lang ipagawa ang central lock, hindi naman malalaman ng dealer. O OEM components gamit ng dealer? Btw, how much pa-central lock and which dealer?

Wala pang third brake light, nag-aabang din nga ako. Important safety item din ito.
Ang meron lang sa Wheels ay:
-Carbon fiber center panel
-Chrome grill
-KDM logo
-Fog lamps
-Rear spoiler

The dealer-sold alarm is Titan. Pero hindi ko talaga type iyon. Ano pa bang alarm meron sa ibang dealer? Yung hindi naman mahal. Otherwise, baka sa labas ko na lang ipalagay.

Try calling up Jomarie of Audiovox for power locks and alarm system - they were recommended by my dealer (Kia Pasay) since Audiovox is already an OEM supplier for Kia locally. Telephone 882-1389, cell 0917-886-8602. Their office is along EDSA, under the flyover from Buendia going into Fort Bonifacio.

Palit din. Every 18 months ang palit. Pero depende rin kung hindi pa ko nagsasawa sa Picanto by then. Medyo maingay kase inside the cabin lalo na kung hindi asphalt overlaid ang kalsada e. But I love how snappily the engine responds. Halos walang rubber band effect.

Yung ingay nga una kong napansin. hehehe. Lakas ng road noise parang walang insulation sa sahig. Ok lang naman, sanay na ko sa diesel.

Anyway, I've seen the site before. I've actually contacted them regarding the LED side mirrors. Bading kase yung design. I was asking for a normal design. Wala pa daw sila. Weird no, inuna pa yung star design kesa sa typical horizontal LED array.

Kung babae ka sana okay lang. Plus mura pa yung quote sa akin.

Last Friday we had our "jamie" serviced for its 15K check up. I told the signet guys not to change oil because we use mobile 1 fully synthetic. They changed the oil filter and spark plugs instead. I also reported the muffler vibration. They said they will replace it under warranty but we have to wait for a month for the part to arrive.

Interestingly, they also installed a charcoal canister to capture the vapor in the gas tank and feed it back to the intake manifold. The car used to have a breather in the gas tank which discahrges the vapor in the atmosphere. This upgrade is free of charge.
I also forgot to report last year they also upgraded the crankshaft bolt free of charge. This must be recalls or service upgrade program of KIA worldwide.

I only paid P2,200.00 for the service. I forgot to mention that they fixe some door rattles as well.

Now "jamie" is running smoothly except for the freakin vibration on the muffler.

Update din lang:

I had an anti-theft system installed on the Picanto. POLICE was the brand both for the system and the 5 door actuators. SRP was Php 3,700.00 (your haggling skills may vary). Price includes instillation. I've posted my comments on the system in the car alarm thread in the Car Electronics Forum. So far, so good. System was installed at Jeff Tan's shop (Araneta Car Center). They were pretty good at dismantling the interior and the install was clean. However, the interior was full of hand smudges and was quite dirty afterwards. Thankfully, Big Bert's is just across the street.

Also installed the following items:
-DEFLECTOR PLATE COVER (Php 1,200)
-Type R Universal Floormats 'Calypso' type (Php 399.00 in ACE Hardware)
-Dirt Stop bathroom mat [looks like 3M] for the rear center hump because the Type R mats did not cover said area (Php 79.95 in ACE)
-Suction mount small vanity mirror on the passenger side (~Php 100.00 in ACE)
-No Smoking icon in place of cigar lighter (Php 30.00 in ACE)
-Metal valve stem covers (Php 69.95 in ACE)
-Cargo mat from those 'goma boys' in Banawe. I bought the whole roll for Php600. Just enough for the Pajero, Picanto, and Vitara. The same roll sells for around Php 400 in ACE but is not as thick you have to cut it up yourself (I'm not very good at that)
-Fish eye lenses for the side mirrors (Php50.00/pr)
-Side mirror etching from Big Bert's
-An envelope for the manual and other vehicle documents

boss otep, congrats on your Picanto (or was that your brother-in-law's?) Hope you and your folks enjoy it as much as many of us do! At 35,050 km and one year and 5 months later, my Picanto is still as fresh as before and a pleasure to drive. Don't hesitate to take it back to your dealer if you feel something is wrong.

PROBLEM:

There are instances when the Picanto would suddenly die while sitting in traffic. Twice pa lang naman nangyari. Mga one week apart yung episodes. Ano kaya ang cause? Malakas naman ang battery and the alarm immobilizer is interfaced through the starter motor and not the engine itself.

It's quite bothering considering how new the vehicle is. I'm bringing it to Kia for a check up. Any recommended branch? Dalhin ko sana sa Wheels E.Rod where it was bought pero minsan parang sablay ang mga tao dun, eh.

'06 A/T model using Shell Unleaded po. Around 700kms current mileage.

It is quite bothering. That's never happened to me. Although meron one instance while I was going at like 60kph when the engine died for a split second, parang kinulang sa fuel or whatever. It's been almost a year since that happened.
