Kia Picanto [Merged]

At least hindi namamatay while running at high speeds. I test drove the Picanto [right into the heart of the EDSA rally] kanina. Hindi naman namatay. Even tried driving with all electrical equipment running pero ok pa din ang takbo.

Once it happened! LOL. Hindi naman tumigil as in patay talaga kase hindi naman ako naglose ng speed. 60 pa rin. Parang na-cut lang yung fuel supply for a split second or something. Never happened again. Tested it at 150kph ok naman.

sir, you should bring your car asap to the dealer, imo.
never happened personally to me but read about it in
the other picanto forums.
seems like a handful of the picantos have
the same stalling problem.
however, there was no further posts on
what was the actual cause.

sana maayos nila agad yan sir.
one of the recommended dealers is
kia quezon ave.
mukhang ok naman.

Hello Guys,

After checking out the problem of stalling, The kia forums solution was the changing of the crankshaft bolt. Apparently, the original crankshaft bolt for a certain production series has a play causing the timing to be out of wack causing stalling. My picanto had the crankshaft bolt upgrade last year with no explaination. Now I kno why certain picantos received letters from the dealers that sold them for a free upgrade of the crankshaft bolt. If I'm not mistaken it was done May or June 05.

Last week they, installed (for free) a revised re-breather system for the vapor in the fuel tank. This gives the pica a slight improvement in emission and economy.

ummm, how much na po ba ang registration ngayon and insurance?

kasi po nagiipon po ako for a picanto, pero hindi ko po alam kung magkano ang total na kelangan kong ipunin eh...

Sir Otep, for change of crankshaft bolt, Signet EDSA Mandaluyong knows about it. They did it on my car a few months back during a scheduled maintenance. I wasn't aware of it until I asked what the mechanic was removing from my engine compartment. I think Kia Quezon Avenue would know about it too. It's definitely covered by warranty.

guys. saan ba mas ok na dealer (signet edsa mandaluyong or kia quezon ave)? we're planning to buy a picanto kasi. how about yung signet alabang?

another question, kasi we're planning to bring the car after a month or two sa bacolod. pwede ba na i-transfer yung warranty ng car doon sa dealer sa bacolod? i mean kahit saan na dealer ba pwede mag claim ng warranty or service ng picanto?

ano pala mga freebies usually binibigay ng mga dealers?

kahit saan dealer pwedeng i-claim ang warranty sir.
basta dala yung warranty booklet.

mukhang ok naman sa both dealers.
mas marami nga lang yata nagpapa-service sa
quezon ave.

called up signet edsa and kia quezon ave the price of picanto lx mt is now at 450k (di pa kasama insurance, registration, etc.). grabe ang effect ng 12% evat. tsk tsk tsk. pupuntahan ko this weekend to see the car. ano pala mga freebies pwede ko hingin besides the tint, matting and seat cover? pwede ba i-test drive yung car? may chance pa kaya to ask for discount?

nga pala, para sa sister-in-law ko ito. nagpapatulong lang sya sa amin.

namin sa kia commonwealth.
mas ok ngayon makipag-negotiate.

ask ko lang po, ano po ba ang mga requirements for financing sa dealer? mataas ba? like sa metrobank po kelangan 2years na employed sa company, etc.

psbank po kami and mikhang di naman
sila very strict when it comes to those things.

with regards to the dealer, they gave priority
to those who were availing of longer payment
schemes. siyempre mas kikita kasi sila.
i don't know if that still holds true today.
dami kasing buyers dati pero konti lang
ang available units. unlike today.
more so with the launching of the
hyundai getz. (atin atin lang to ha,
pero mas maganda pa rin ang picanto, imo. hehehe)
just as long as your monthly income (or if
you are married, your combined monthly
income), less your fixed expenses like rent,
other mortgages, etc., is enough, they'll
approve your loan.

Sa mga picanto owners po wala po ba kau kakaibang tunog na naririnig sa my engine compartment ng picanto nyo. Kc sa akin po parang my kakaibang tunog ako na naririnig kahit sa luob ng picanto nadidinig ko. Un po bang tunog na parang sa my bandang fan belt un po kaya ung epekto nung crankshaft bolt na kailangang palitan?

At ano pa po ung mga parts na napalitan na sa kotse nyo na kasama sa warranty? Para pagbalik ko sa Kia Commonwealth ay eclaclaim ko din sa knila.
As of now ang naclaim ko pa lang po ay ung muffler. My odo reading is 5,800 nabili ko November 2004 sa Kia Commonwealth.

At pwede po ba iclaim sa ibang dealer like Kia Quezon Ave ung warranty nahihinaan po kc ako sa service ng kia commonwealth e.
