Kung kaya ng budget, Getz na. 4 power windows (and power locks na din ata this year). May adjustable rear headrests pa for rear passenger protection.
glck17,
Ano quote ng dealer sayo? Magkano initial cash out and monthly?

Mas maganda offer ng Picanto over the Getz. I'm not promoting BPI. But try mo sa kanila. Mas mura ang monthly/interest rate dun. At alam ko may promo pa sila ngayon kasi anniversary month ngayon (August). May bawas pa sa interest rate. Tsaka mas mababa pa yung chattel kasi depende sa bank yan. Try requesting for 3m tint. Wag na yung libreng matting at seat cover.
ok thanks for the info. pero mas ok ba talaga ang getz over the picanto?
If CRDi or the higher models. Getz mas ok. Pero kung parehong 1.1 L Picanto nalang. Malayo diperensya sa price over Getz. Take advantage sa promo ng Picanto na free insurance, 3 years lto and tpl. Malaking savings na yan. Pareho lang naman kasi yan e. Under one company din yan sa Korea. It's just a matter of choice.
Halos detail differences lang naman ang Picanto at Getz 1.1. The parts used in building them have both Kia and Hyundai logos on them. If you look under the dash, you'll see them using exactly the same parts.
My vote also goes to BPI. They offer better rates than in-house.

I've actually read in a European car forum that the Picanto chassis is just a shortened version of the one used in the Getz. The Picanto was one of the first models of Kia to share parts & auto development with Hyundai after Hyundai's takeover of Kia. The same thing is happening all over again with the new Kia Sportage, which is based on the Hyundai Tucson platform. The Kia Rio and the Hyundai Accent also share a similar platform.

*notice that the dash seems to have a different design now.

as per the photo...im seeing:
-new dash
-new wheels
-4w disc brakes
Are you sure the black colored car with a visible dash in camo is a picanto? If you compare it with the one with white in camo which I believe, rather, could be the the real one, the tire sizes are not the same. The curves on the side mirror of the black car is sloping down while the white is going up. Correct me if I'm wrong.
i think you are referring to the white colored car with black colored camo with visible dash. and btw, im sure its the Picanto. back to the topic, its a facelift as i posted. so, we wouldnt know what changes Kia may have done with this upcoming Picanto.
The dash is new, more in line with the Rio's center console. The instrument cluster hood is also not one smooth arc anymore.
I wonder how it'll look like.

If it gets the Rio's console (which I like) and 4-wheel discs, then it will be a good upgrade.
Still can't see what they might have done with the look... the rear door is slightly longer, from the pics.
The only thing I'd like changed are the oversized tail-lights... the rest is still okay.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
I hope that more than looks they also improved the Picanto in other ways. Bearing in mind that this is a budget car my wish list would be:
1. A hatch lock lever inside just like the sedans. Currently you can lock and unlock the hatch door only with the car key and only from the outside.
2. Manual levers for the side mirror. The 2004 model does not have these so you adjust your view by touching the mirror itself.
3. Increased tire well diameter (just a tiny bit) to accomodate more common tires sizes available locally. The stock tires (165/60 R14) are hard to find, unless you want to buy from the dealer at around P3,000 per piece. Of all the tire dealers I inquired in Bocaue, Marilao, and Balagtas NONE sells this size of tires for the 2004 Picanto.
These shouldn't cost much. I'm not even asking for power windows and power door locks. And last but not least, dealers should keep the price down like no more than P400k- P450K base model.
1. The anti-theft system and central lock I had installed has 5 actuators so this becomes a non-issue.
2. There are manual remote-controllers for newer LX (and possibly DLX) model Picantos.
3. Yes, they are rare. Hopefully as market demand grows, they will start to become more common. Most units on the roads are probably still on their first sets.

I hope when it gets here they change the side mirrors it has a blind spot and won't downgrade it too much....hehehe
