Dinala ko na sa 2 Kia Service Centers (Congressional and North EDSA) and they can't seem to find any problems.

Lately, we have experienced the same problem again this time even after the engine has been shut down for several hours. Ganun pa din yung trick we wait for some time then the engine will start again. May nagsabi na battery ang problem but we already changed the battery and even with the brand new battery the problem did not go away.

Any one of yopu guys experiencing this? I am really disappointed with this Carens of ours; 2009 lang namin binili less than 2 years pa lang may problemang ganun na. Do you guys know which Kia Service Center is better at diagnosing problems with the car?

Good luck

Sir, eto ang recommend ko sa iyo ipa-check mo ang alternator mo baka mahina na magkarga, kasi ang battery nagdedepend dyan, if alternator was ok then nasa starter na, baka di na makaikot ang rotor.

    Salamat sa mga suggestions.

Iniisip ko din baka starter pero yung situation ko, pag sinumpong yung Carens ko, when I turn the key I just hear a single click... then walang nangyayari. Then it's a waiting game na... hintay kung kailan mag-start ulit yung engine.

So I am planning to bring it somewhere else to have it checked.

Tumawag na kami ng mekaniko pero pag dating ng mekaniko nag-start na ulit yung sasakyan... then it happened to me also twice in Manila, papa-hila ko na sana pero while waiting for the tow truck nag-start na ulit yung Carens. Subsequent incidents, we just wait it out na lang... ma-hassle lang talaga... this week so far wala pang toyo yung Carens namin.

Just want to share my ride guys. This thread has contributed a lot in my decision to purchase a Kia Carens inspite of its current price (1.27M). I actually got it for 1.17M w/ free leather seat cover and 3m tint from KIA Acropolis.

    Kia Carens EX

    HU: Alpine w505
    Tweeter: DDT28
    Midbass: DDAw6.5
    MIdrange: Legatia L4
Center Speaker: DDCX4 (wired but not powered, no budget yet for a sound processor)
    Crossover: Coustic XM7
    Amps: Alpine 3544, 3555, DDc4
    Subwoofer: None
    Installer: DIY

Kasi noon e 8 out of 10 yata gusto CRDI kaya dinrap nila yung gas version.

Yes our carens still has a glow plug. Even the new sore to diesel. You will see this before starting the engine, the one that looks like a coiled wire indicator.

Equinox, what happened to your careens already?

Ganun pa din yung Carens namin. It happened again last weekend (waited about 3 minutes before the engine started). Since the problem occurs intermittently, I am just waiting for the car to reach 25K kilometers para isasabay ko na yan sa PMS. Para isang puntahan na lang sa casa.

wala na po glow plug ang carens crdi na gaya sa conventional diesel engine.. meron lang yan heater coils to warm the air when starting the engine.. even kia carnival J3 engine na conventional diesel wala na din glow plug.. heater coil na lang

whatever you call it, but what I mean is that the objective is still to preheat the engine, serving the same purpose as the old glow plugs
(heater in the jeepney drivers parlance) . Maybe the difference lies in that you can start the engine within 10 seconds after the coiled indicator comes off, which come off fast compared to the old glow plug technology. It doesn't even have a decent indicator but a red light that signals the driver of turning the key to start the engine when the light disappears.

This is the reason why i am asking Mr. Equinox about exploring the possibility of having problem in the said area.

Sorry for the mixed terminologies. Hope Mr. Equinox would finally see the problem.

    Again keep us posted.
