kaya ba diy ang egr cleaning ng carens? Sa carnival j3 engine madali lang ang egr cleaning, may naka diy na ba sa carens? Na pms ako ng carens spent less than 4k change oil, filters, clean brakes and foot brake

sir Yapoy nung nagtanong ako sa Kia Pampanga re: EGR cleaning labor cost, ang sabi eh 1,200 (may promo pa na 20% discount sa labor until Aug 31 2011) pero pwede din daw i DIY. Di naman na elaborate.

For the past month medyo humina ng konti ang hatak ng Carens ko. 4 days ago while on a slow climb along Session road here in Baguio, I suddenly changed gear from 2nd to 1st and floored the pedal because I needed to overtake. From the right side view mirror, I noticed a ball of thick black smoke that came out of the tailpipe. Then I noticed a slight improvement in the engine power. Parang hindi na sakal yung takbo. Parang nakahinga ng maluwag yung Carens. Prior to this, wala namang gaanong black smoke sa exhaust. I don't know if this incident has something to do with getting rid of soot/carbon deposits from the EGR.

On the next day and on the same road, I made the same maneuver. But this time, I observed that instead of thick black smoke, konting gray smoke na lang ang lumabas and the performance improved further. Naging mas tahimik na rin ang engine.

good rainy day mag sirs. saw an ad in philippine star today. yung carens lx is offered at 895k while the ex variant is 949k. is this just a promo, or has columbian really reduced the price of the carens? anyone in the know please confirm?

That's the new SRP of the Carens and not just a promo. However, CAC will be doing some cost cutting measures as the Carens will now have one less airbag and just a 1-DIN stereo.

CAC with its new management team it appears has decided to rationalize prices across the board in order to become more competitive.

Merong akong naririning na parang grinding or vibrating sound sa may engine ng carens ko, yung sound came from the left side corner ng engine, usually ay maririnig mo ito in the morning and nawawala sya pag around noontime na if the weather is a little hotter, my egr has just been cleaned last month and the casa cant locate kung saan nanggagaling ang grinding sound of vibrating sound, ok naman ang hatak ng carens and no sign of black smoke, has anyone experience this????

minsan talaga kailangan natin ma pagpag yung soot na naiipon sa exhaust ng carens.. malamang naiipon yan sa may catalytic converter eh..

yung grinding sound baka sa mga bearings yan ng engine M/T ba yan or A/T??

mukhang same lang pala ang kalalabasan ng CRDi engine na 'to.... eventually kailangan din ng frequent carbon cleaning....
may nakapag palinis na ba sa inyo ng tanbutso? saw this before in Isuzu Hilander....may nilagay syang butas sa exhaust manifold tpara madali lagyan liquid soap and water.....

sir vinrem, napansin ko din yang grinding/vibrating sound, nawawala nga after around 1hr. have not gone to kia out of warranty na carens namin, ask around muna ako.

Battaglin;
The door actuator of our carens is different from the usual japanese car actuator. If you still can remember the time when you're still young, you destroy your battery operated car and take out it's motor pulley. That is exactly the motor of our actuator. If I am not mistaken they call it cable type actuator/ lock. You go to maspro in banawe and ask if they can fix it for you. Just a warning, it would be a long wait. removing it would take some time. You can also look for a surplus and have it installed in maspro or in the kia shop. Ask the service manager if they can get you a surplus from previously flooded kia or hyundai cars, particularly santa fe.

Thanks, bengmd and yapoy86. I've checked yesterday sa mga nearby auto acc. shops and they say nga na iba actuator.
I looked to ordering from the internet and I found this.

Now I need to open the door panel to get a look if it is the same actuator. problem is I can't get to open the front pax door.

Whoops!! guys ignore the pic above. our carens' actuator is not that one pictured. I brought the carens to my suking mechanic today and had the front door panel opened. diagnosis: actuator motor working but the mechanisms would not respond.
so I had the assembly ordered.
He has contact to casa suppliers. I know now how much profit they're making. parang mga tauhan ni gloria kung magtongpats ah!

I am not very sure if it is the same type. For your safety, bring it to casa or maspro and have it repaired or replace with a new one or surplus.

We're having problems din with our Carens' front passenger and back door. After 3 times n namin pabalik-balik sa KIA service center with the same problem we were advised to replace the door mechanism but the price is quite steep. Baka pwede pakishare contact ng suki mong mechanic we're not under warranty na kasi kaya tipid mode but hassle talaga pag bigla nalang nagjajam doors. TIA
