We're having problems din with our Carens' front passenger and back door. After 3 times n namin pabalik-balik sa KIA service center with the same problem we were advised to replace the door mechanism but the price is quite steep. Baka pwede pakishare contact ng suki mong mechanic we're not under warranty na kasi kaya tipid mode but hassle talaga pag bigla nalang nagjajam doors. TIA

Sir I have the same issues sa carens ko sa front passenger side. Since I know how to DIY myself. I dismantled the front passenger panel and mahirap talaga siyang tanggalin. Actually hindi naman kailangan palitan ng actuator yun mga unit natin e. The actuator sa tingin ko works fine kaya lang hindi nagloloose yun sa lock ng door. What I did is spray some wd40 sa area na yun and now ayus na yun door ko having no problems at all. mapapansin mo lang na pag hindi mo maopen paluin mo yun door plastic moulding malapit sa area ng kinakapitan nung lock and magloloose na yun. sa tingin ko nawalan lang talaga ng grease kaya hindi bumibitaw. hope this could help.

The door actuator of our carens is different from the usual japanese car actuator. If you still can remember the time when you're still young, you destroy your battery operated car and take out it's motor pulley. That is exactly the motor of our actuator. If I am not mistaken they call it cable type actuator/ lock. You go to maspro in banawe and ask if they can fix it for you. Just a warning, it would be a long wait. removing it would take some time. You can also look for a surplus and have it installed in maspro or in the kia shop. Ask the service manager if they can get you a surplus from previously flooded kia or hyundai cars, particularly santa fe.

The problem lies sa mga carbon na naipon sa loob ng intake and exhaust natin. What I did was clean my egr and intake manifold then para sa exhaust I rev my engine till it reaches 4,500 rpm over and over again. Mapapansin ang daming black smoke lalabas biglaan parang gustong kumawala sa tailpipe. pag nirerev ko lumilinis ng konti yun exhaust ko ayun gumanda na ulit ang hatak malakas na ulit.

So far no major problem with my carens. I was able to get a surplus size 18 rims and tires from a Kia Soul. The wheels fits very well and it added some aesthetic points to our carens. As for the ride, it is still fast and comfortable. Regular EGR cleaning in the kia shop. That is good to hear that you can diy the cleaning of the egr. Hopefully you can post some tutorial on how to do it.

I believe your ride looks better as you have posted it before. I just don't know how to post pics. If I will get the chance to learn it I will post some pics.

Hopefully we can resucitate the carens group. Let us regroup and hopefully we can assemble a better number of people.

congrats once again on your DIY, oo nga maganda kung may pix or even tutorial vids (sa susunod na pag-baklas?)
kasi sayang din ng Php2500 (fm. what i read on earlier post) sa service charge kung madali lang naman....
saka kung dun naman sa Air-intake, dba plastic ang intake manifold natin? dapat lang siguro ingatan yung torque wag masobrahan para di masira plastic parts....



tungkol naman sa exhaust; baka someone is willing to try cleaning it with mixture of liquid detergent + water....then revving the heck out of the engine. i saw that one done for Isuzu hilander.... will try to post some pix later....

ako naman sa Caren's ko....MOD's so far eh yung
*Tires changed to 215/55-R17.
* DIY na HID (pero right side lamp lang);
* DIY na Sound (tweeter + tinny sub) setup
* Rear Air-Spoiler

and seat covers (if that even counts?) hehe.

so far no issues on A/C and Door locks as what others have mentioned...

had experience of lacklaster response; now i think the Turbo is engaging around
2000rpm; instead of catalog spec 1800. . .also have seen the car emitting more
black smoke (si esmi driver ako nakabuntot sa likod in a Civic) hehe.

probably when the car reaches 60Tkm pa EGR cleaning ko din. current ODO reading is around 47T km....

siguro ang useful tips ay mas madalas syang gamitin sa hiway that can really stretch her heart/lungs
and avoid prolonged idling in city traffic.

NOX is produced when diesel is combusted in very high temperature and very rich oxygen. exhaust gas is introduced to lessen the oxygen content of intake air thus reducing NOX.. so dapat nga bumagal pa kasi bawas ang oxygen content ng combustion chamber ng engine eh..

Pero kung lumiit yun butas humihina naman yun pag rev ng engine natin as in sobrang bagal umangat parang sobrang sakal. Kaya yun ang nagco-cause ng power loss na nafeefeel natin pero in reality malakas pa din humatak naman ayun lang hirap lang kasi hindi umaangat yun rev. kaya for now balaka ko tanggalin yun exhaust system to clean it. ang itim kasi sobra ng usok e.

sir,2-3wks pa bago dumating shipment nila daw. update ko kayo sir. for now mechanical mode yung front pax door namin.

btw, nag-renew ako ng LTO, di pala basta-basta ma-stencil yung engine number. some parts have to be taken down. I had to bring carens to kia for stencil. bad news lang 500php/six copies charge nila dito.
yung iba daw nabigyan ng stencil pero kung bank financing malamang sa bank daw binigay stencils.

Sir, yung actuator namin eh gastado na yung locking mechanism so kahit lagyan mo ng grease wala rin. looks like cheap metal ginamit nila to save on cost.

fellow Carens owners, i think lahat may concensus na umiitin na din nga lumalabas sa tailpipe ng sasakyan natin. hhhhm ang suspetsa ko talaga dyan eh na o-overwhelm yung Catalytic converter kaya halos di na sya functioning dahil di na dumadaan sa kanya exhaust gases kasi malamang balot na din sya ng carbon.....

Although may nakapag advice na ang tubig daw eh malamang makaka-sira sa precious metals inside the CAT, pero sa mga na Google search ko about cleaning the CAT parang wala naman na come-across na ganun nga...

will just risk it probably...

ako balak ko lang palinisan with Liquid soap + water thru the rear pipe opening....
mukhang mas malilinisan nga kung fm. Exhaust manifold mo sya tatanggalin
pero mas matrabaho nga lang kung ganun....saka takot ako baka masira Exh Mani gasket....

i would like to share my 50k pms cost for everyone's info:

total cost is Php 12.5k

in my previous 40k pms, i have complained of some "clank clank" in rough roads, humps, low speed cornering ( pag magpa-park ng pataas ) and it was found to be the stabilizer links, napalitan na lahat at medyo yun yung nagpataas ng cost, feels sturdy again.

on my 55k pms, im planning to have it done sa malapit na talyer, bili na lang ako ng materials and just pay for the labor

strange na mabilis nasira Stabilizer link parts, ibang car companies naman eh shocks naman mabilis masira.... haha wala talagang perpektong sasakyan...

Isa sa mga nabasa kong articles tungkol sa Turbo-Diesel CRDI/VGT ay kailangang patakbuhin ng mga 120 kph sa expressway para uminit ng husto ang makina at masunog at maibuga ng husto ang naiipong carbon sa catalytic converter. Lagi kong ginagawa ito at least once a month. Sa stop and go traffic kasi e di umiinit ng husto ang catalytic converter at kailangang malinis ito sa pagbuga ng carbon sa high speed cruising.
