Nasira yung powerlock nung passenger side so ayaw nyang bumukas stockup yung lever ng lock. Dinala ko sya sa kia congressional nung thursday it took them 4hrs para lang mabuksan yung pinto, nang nabuksan tinanggal nila electrical socket ng actuator, buong gabi wala naman naging problema.

Friday morning ganon ulit ayaw bumukas ang pinto so balik ulit sa casa ngayon alam na nila gagawin kaya halos 1hr lang nabuksan na nila yung pinto. Binaklas yung sidings, double wall at pinutol na nila yung mechanism na nakakabit sa actuator. Ngayon ang nangyari hindi mo kayang ilock yung pinto so pwede mo syang buksan sa labas at sa loob. Tinanggal nila yung cable na nakakabit sa door handle na nasa labas para hindi na gumana yung door handle sa labas kaya sa loob mo lang sya pwedeng buksan.

Ang nakakaasar walang pyesa na pamalit sa buong locking system baka daw abutin ng 1month. Nakakalungkot lang kasi bago ko binili yung carens tinanong ko pa sa ahente na baka pag may nasira dyan walang available na pyesa at yung nga ang nangyari.

Covered naman sya ng warranty ang nakakatakot dto pano kung after a year yung pinto naman sa likod o yung pinto sa driverside ang mag stockup san ka makakabili nito kasi yung actuator nya naka built in sa locking system ng pinto, kung meron namang pyesa ay siguradong mahal ito kasi pati mga cable kasama.

Sir allan ikaw pala yun. ako iyung nakausap mo na may Sportage na black having PMS done there.

sana nga lang isolated case lang iyang sa iyo pero i agree with you mukhang design problem nga na pag nasira actuator e damay na iyung mechanism.

I would still pick kia carens.I still truly love this car.... especially what's under the hood.I drove this baby like crazy..like 210k/h crazy. My kids love it and it's perfect for a small family like mine. Though I had to buy a rack coz in my vacation outing there is not much left for the luggage with the yayas and all. Comfort talaga and smooth...di na suka ng suka yong 2nd son ko.

Wow dami na problem sir . Ours is just as old (a year and 7 months). No problems encountered yet except for minor adjustments done on parking brake, nabawasan ng grip but it's really very minor.

The (low) ground clearance could be a problem sometimes. Ilang beses na din sumayad yung bandang unahan saka minsan pag nalimutan mag slow down sa mataas na humps sa bandang gitna pero so far our carens is handling it quite fine. Almost daily driven ~250 kms per week, ave speed is ~60kp/h max of ~130 daily average, highest speed recorded is 180 kph (says the gps) on several occations.

I have the same problem. kahapon lang nangyari. so bale hindi ma open totally un door. kasi na stuck un lock nya. im going to wheels erod tomoro.

Katatapos lang ng 20K PMS ko at inabot ng P8,278 sa Kia Pasig. Pinalitan lahat ng filters (AC, Air, Fuel, at saka Oil). Mahal pala nung fuel-filter halos P2K ang isa, plus labor pa.

Anyway, pinagawa ko din ang passenger side door lock ko dahil stock sa locked position at ayaw bumukas maski na mano-mano kung buksan, o kaya ay gamitin ang remote para sa keyless entry. Nagawa naman nila at eto bumubukas na naman, sayang at di ko nakita kung ano ang ginawa nila, pero walang parte na pinalitan. Adjustment lang siguro nung door lock mechanism.

Ilang beses na rin akong sumabit sa likod naman, dahil sa ground clearance ng Carens. Di ko pa nga nasisilip dahil natatakot akong me makita. Pero wala namang sinasabi sa kin yung mga mechanic na tumitigin pag nagpapa-PMS ako kaya okay lang siguro. Balak kong palitan yung rear-wheels ng mas mataas na gulong (size 70 -vs- 60 na nakakabit ngayon). Titignan ko kung makukuha ng ganitong paraan dahil rear side ang problema ko sa sumasayad.

Wala pa rin akong problema sa AC, acceleration lag-time, at iba. So far after 11months, at 20,000 kms, bilib pa rin ako sa Carens. FC ko e mga 9-13 km/ltr pa rin ang city/highway driving ko. Makintab pa rin ang paint-job ko at makapal pa ang threads ng mga gulong. Average speed ko pag nasa highway is 130kph, at sa city naman e 60 kph. Fastest speed ko e 200kph (mga 1 minute lang), bago binaba ko ulit sa 130 kph dahil sa takot akong matikitan (makotongan).

sir magnus, same thing happened sa beloved carens ko. Changed the magnetic coil sa aircon, at almost every 2mos palit ako filter sa aircon kc humihina cooling power ng a/c, changed all the brake pads including the whole brake master assembly, my brakes locked up.
Nasunog din ic ng head unit ko, wala din akong makita na replacement. Temporarily 1 DIN lng muna pinalit ko na headunit, spare stereo from my other ride. Hanap pa ako mura na amps hehehe.
Sometimes im having regrets why I settled for this ride, kaya lng everytime I leave in the dust ang mga bully SUVs at pick ups e nawawala lahat ng sakit ng ulo na naidulot ni carens hehehe.

Sir magnus, daming problem sir ah, my carens is 18months old na, so far ang na encounter ko lng na problem is sayad, bangga, ang turbo lag.

I went to san carlos city pala last week, when we are going on a steep uphill na pala, medyo hirap ang carens ko if i use a/t mode, kaya i always shift using the shiftronic or sports mode, ganun ba talaga un??? has anyone who has an a/t carens encountered this or ano ginagawa nyo if you are going uphill let say if you are going to bagiuo???

Grabe naman sir wayward, almost every 2months palit ka ng a/c filter??? there must be problem with your a/c, ano sabi ng casa???

The only way for you to move it on an uphill is to step harder on the gas or put in manual mode so you could control the gears. That's really how AT works.

maybe there is something wrong with the passenger side door. bakit lahat doon lang na side. Complain kaya atin sa kia.

Malayo kasi ako sa service center kaya pinaayos ko nalang sa electrician namin, yon nawala ang warantee. So i opted to have it replace with a one made in china. Mahal kasi yong orig...nasa 6.5 each.

i don't have complains against the break pads. The way we abused it...ang sarap kasi hatawin ang carens.

Thanks sir jovill, ganun nga ginawa ko kasi 1st time ko umakyat ng ganun kataas eh, medyo natakot lng ako kasi when using full a/t, parang ayaw gumalaw ung carens, kaya i immediately shift it to manual mode para ma control ko ang gears.

I just step harder on the accelerator on uphills. I use the sports mode on downhills to control the speed. Otherwise, always on the A/T mode.

Una sir ok pa if straight ang road going uphill, but when i encounter a sharp curve, d alis ko foot ko sa accelerator to decrease my speed, then when i step on the gas again, ayun parang pagong na and halos ayaw na gumalaw ang car, thats the time i switch to sports mode na.

I think its the speaker, meron na tayong mga fellow carens owners that changed their speaker and when they changed it to a newer one gumanda na ang tunog ng sound.
