for some reason. gumagana na ulet un passenger door lock ko. weird.

hey guys. pansin ko lang. do you have crappy speakers? or is it the stereo? it gives crappy sound quality.

I hope this issue about the passenger door lock is really an isolated case. I searched the kia forums and I couldn't find someone having the same issue.

yes indeed stock speaker of carens is really crap i changed mine to targa speaker. laking improvement sa tunog. super liit kasi ng magnet ng stock speaker. parang pang AM radio lang:hysterical:

sabi ko nga d naman ganun ka frequent out of town trips ko. I tried removing the filter and cleaned it with a vacuum, ganun pa rin. parang hirap ang buga ng a/c and cooling power is greatly reduced. I also tried buying a 3m replacement a/c filter and cut it to size, pero ganun pa rin, explanation nila is they clean a part of the a/c (forgot the name of the darn thing) each time they replace the filter. Long and short of it, i have to live with it

When i reach around 8 or 9000kms yata i had to change my a/c filter kasi hina na ng buga ng aircon ang indi na malamig, ngayon 10+ kms na and still malamig pa naman ang a/c ko, medyo nag alala na ako sa a/c system ng carens ah, same din reason ang binigay ng casa sa akin, they said that very dusty daw road natin, i told them na city lng naman ako, and they said na lalo na sa city kasi daw daming usok coming from all those PUV's, but iba ang sa iyo, you said almost every 2months, tindi na yan.

sir wayward, with regards to my jvc head unit, i just bought an ordinary ampli (china) worth 1.5k. Since i'm planning to change the whole system if i find time to go to manila or maybe cebu. Sa iloilo ba may alam kang may magandang magset-up? For the meantime, i temporarily made use of the rear speaker as my sub and my front speakers ginawa kung full range with little help of tweeters. mas ok yong tunog dahil maganda naman ang bass sound ng stock speaker, ingat nga lang sa volume ng bass sa EQ. Experimental lang, ok lang masira anyway balak ko naman palitan later.

I bought a portable electric blower and clean it up as often as i can, twice a week at least. Medyo tumagal ang A/C filter ko at air filters. 1.5 lang bili ko ng blower, nagagamit pa to dry up my car after washing.

Last time I've checked them, limited options to choose from. I will try to ask the owner nexttime i go to iloilo. Bacolod meron bang magandang shop? I sometimes go there.

I think its the speaker, meron na tayong mga fellow carens owners that changed their speaker and when they changed it to a newer one gumanda na ang tunog ng sound.

Ganun ang ginawa ko sa sounds ko. Pinalitan ko ang apat na speakers at bumili ako ng JVC co-ax speakers rated at 100W a piece. Tapos naglagay ako ng amplifier sa ilalim ng driver's seat, at saka sub-woofer (contained unit ito at di speakers lang) sa ilalim ng upuan ng 2nd row. 150% ang improvement ng sound, at lakas ng bass maski na di malaking sub-woofer ang speaker.

Nakakalungkot at marami na rin ang nagsisisi sa pagbili ng Carens, it is a beautiful car talaga.... ang nakakasira lang ay yung kumpanya na nagbebenta dito sa pinas.

Sir silicon, don't get me wrong...i never regreted buying a carens. If given a chance of choose today , carens would still be my best choice.

My carens is still good. 16thou km.
It's just a bit low on clearance. I have to slow down at humps, and sometimes go over them sideways.

Another is with the service centers. i had a bad experience with Wheel E rodrigues.

I had my Carens repaired cause my behind was bumped. After the repair, I got it quickly that i didnt have the time to inspect it.

I found out later that my back wiper was installed incorrectly, it wipes the bottom, not the glass.

There was a screw rolling at the rear right door pocket. There was a screw at the glass holders.

Two screw caps (near the indoor handle) were missing.

There was this "kalampag". The metal that locks the back door was loose.

Is somebody making a pettion paper (for the sellers and service centers?) that we need to sign?

My KarenPot (the name of my Carens) is going 35,000 kms. I've driven it to as far as Legaspi City, and Cauayan City and as high as Baguio City.

So far, the problems I encountered with Karenpot were:

1. Low clearance - laging sumasayad kahit sa garahe namin, sa mga humps, very rough roads.
2. Makalampag
3. Alarm no longer working since last December. Up to now, hindi pa nagagawa dahil hindi kami mag-tagpo ng taga Winter Pine. He he he . . .
4. A/T malfunctioned because the wirings were gnawed by rats. Okay na sya. It took the casa 3 days to diagnose and fix the problem.
5. Dumihin at marami nang gasgas at very visible dahil black color.
6. My wife doesn't like the car - the KIA brand for that matter. He he he . . .

So far, I've not encountered any problem in the aircon, except that it could not cool the third seat area. The aircon filter was only replaced on the 20 K PMS and I'd have it replaced again on the 40K PMS.

It's great car! Masarap ihataw! And, I like it's size - hindi masyado malaki at hindi masyado maliit.

My carens has logged only almost 11000kms, my reklamo so far are:

1. Low clearance- but bihira lang ako sumayad kasi i make it a habit to slow down pag may humps or lubak or inclined area.
2. Low FC- only got 7km/li pure city and 12km/li highway.
3. Kalampag- medyo may naririnig na ako but sometimes nawawala din, dont know why.
4. Mausok- there are times from standstill then dahan-dahan ko lng apak ang accelerator, may gray smoke na lumalabas, i could see it thru my side mirrors.
5. Turbo Lag- in the morning and the evening, wala ako na-eexperience na lag, but during peak ng init, from standstill sobrang bagal tumakbo, parang pagong, pag malapit na sa 2000rpm, then maganda na ang takbo but when you look at your side mirror, GRAY SMOKE AGAIN makikita mo.
6. A/C- malamig pa a/c ko but i already change it nung 8000 or 9000kms pa lng odo ko kasi medyo mainit na ang buga, when they took out the filter, sobrang dumi na.
7. Engine Noise- dont know about other carens owner here, but yung sa akin parang medyo maingay ang engine ko, medyo rinig ko sa loob when im driving, or is it me lang hehehhehe
8. Like sir j_avvoni, dami na gasgas carens ko.
9. Twice na akong nabangga, and yung last one ang matindi (rear right fender yupi and also my bumper yupi din), till now wala pa daw spare parts ko .

But riding comfort is great, when i went to san carlos city, yung passenger ko sa 2nd row sarap ng tulog. Ang size is right for me and my family, not too big and not too small, and when you need an extra space, unfold mo ang 3rd row and tadaaa!!! you got an extra 2seats sa 3rd row.

My Carens, CRDI A/T EX - Volcanic Red

21000 Kilometers na ang Carens ko at katatapos pa lang ng 20K maintenance. Pinalitan ang fuel-filter, oil, air filter, at saka AC filter. So far okay naman ang lahat at wala pa akong kahit na anong major problems. Ang normal cruising speed ko sa Carens pag nasa super-highway e anywhere from 100kph - 130 kph depende sa weather at saka traffic. Sarap kasing ihataw ng mabilis sa highway ng wala akong masyadong naririnig na reklamo galing kay Carens. Paminsan-minsan pag me nanga-aasar na CRV o kaya Fortuner sa kalye e iniiwan ko ng milya-milya ang mga yon para malaman nila na isa sa mga HARI ang Carens sa highway..Di ko na pinapansin ang mga Innova dahil alam naman nila kung sino ang mas matigas..he he he..LOL..Ang mga pinsan naman nitong Starex, Tucson, Sta. Fe, at iba pang mga Kia e hinahayaan ko na lang na lagpas-lagpasan ako sa kalye.

Wala pa rin akong nararanasang malaking problema sa Carens ko..AC, Suspension, strange-exhaust smoke, mababa nga lang at sumabit na rin akong ilang beses...balak kong palitan ng 70 series ang tires ko pag naka-40K na ako dahil sayang naman. Walang problema sa ignition dahil one click pa rin, walang problema sa acceleration-lag (siguro dahil di ako sensitive dito!!)..walang problema sa engine-noise (maski na kauna-unahan kong diesel ito!!), walang wind-noise, walang trunk noise..

Ah!! Isang problema nga pala....tong lintek na 'FOOT BRAKE' lagi kong nalilimutang alisin bago umarangkada. Minsan e nakaka-ilang kilometro na ko bago ko mapansing di pala na-release. Ito kasi ang kauna-unahan kong 'foot brake'. Di ko na sinasabi sa Kia tuwing PMS dahil tiyak e gastos lang ito sa kin at kailangan ko lang sanayin ang sarili ko sa pag-release ng foot brake..

almost two weeks na wala pa rin yung door mechanism ko. Ok ang kia carens kaso ang problema yung after sales service hindi ko alam kung sa kia congressional lang ang pangit baka sa iba ok, dun kasi ako nag papapms kaya dun ko dinadala. next time subukan ko sa iba any suggestion kung san maganda, kasi nadala na ako sa kia congressional walang kwenta doon.
