    Gud day to all!

Im going to buy an Isuzu Global DMax probably this week or next week. First time ko magkakaron ng brand new this is a dream come true for me.

PLease help me what to choose saka. Ano po pa FC ng DMax? Updates naman po sa price kc di pa ko nakapunta sa casa sobrang busy kase. Sabi nila tumaas na daw LS at LX ng 10K, totoo po ba ito?

Thanks a lot excited na ko and im so happy to be a member of this thread.

Sir, dream_max, I could guarantee you that you'll be very satisfied with the Dmax especially that you said it yourself that your previous one was "assembled lang na truck."

Mine is a tornade red 4x2 LS and it has been with me for exactly 1 month and 1 week and it has already traveled just above 2940 kms, so far I don't have any major issues with it. Just a few squeaking sounds that come and go, but they're tolerable. For the engine, it's powerful and responsive. Also, I find it too bouncy for me, but I don't mind since this is a truck and I should expect it to perform like a truck and not a sedan. Where are you located at, sir? If you live in QC, I could recommend you Isuzu Q. Ave and to my agent since that is where I got my unit. Unfortunately sir, I confirmed about your price inquiry with my agent, it's really true that the prices of Dmax went up by 10k and nothing has been added in the car. He said it just went up and he presumed that it's because of the peso-dollar rate. So for the LS, it's 1,025M coming from 1,015 and LX it's 935k coming from 925k, if I could remember it clearly.

If your budget permits sir, I suggest that you get the LS since with a price difference of 90k, you'll already have fog lamps, HU with Ipod port, ABS, airbags and all those stuffs (I just don't remember their exact differences). For my FC, I just based it in what it shows in the dashboard and it's registering 13+kms/liter. It's really fuel efficient especially if your speed is only around 80 to 100 kph. 4x4 is nice but the 4x2 LS looks exactly the same like the 4x4, and you don't really need it if you're a city driver.

We're looking forward to the newest owner of Dmax!

    hi guys,

just tonight, drove thru about 200 meters of "over half tire height flood waters". but still below the fog light level.

during that time the indicator lights for the brake/handbrake and battery/charging lighted up at the same time. after about four seconds both of them turned off. ano kaya nangyari?

could not find anything strange naman. could have driven the dmax too fast for the flood coz basa yun sound insulation sa loob ng engine bay. hope walang permanent bad effect ito.

also checked my brake and clutch fluids, yun brake fluid is clear but a bit brown colored. but yun clutch fluid looks murky and dark. and yet i believe same time pinalitan yun. last year pa annual pms but was not expecting the clutch fluid to be that dirty

    thanks

Sir, I think you mean to say 2 feet and not 200 meters since it would make it 650+ feet if it's 200 meters.

That incident happened to my other truck before where the battery, heater glow & malfunction indicator light all lighted at the same time. I brought it to my trusted auto shop and they said maybe the battery cable got loose. After putting grease in the battery terminals and tightened the battery connectors, that didn't occur anymore.

If your sound insulation got wet after you came from the flood, that's really something. I have driven my Dmax in the flood for a lot of times and the sound insulation never got wet.

For the brake and clutch fluids, again with my other truck, I had it vacuumed and replaced with new fluids and I think about after a week, it's murky again. I don't feel anything wrong with the vehicle so I suppose it's ok.

I just want to share the freebies that I got when I bought mine so that you could have an idea what my agent was willing to offer. I went to other dealers and Isuzu Q. Ave had the best offer. Aside from the standard tint, matting & seat cover, my agent added rain gutters (window visor) and additional undercoat (Automobilkote) . He quoted me P7,850 for 3 yr LTO registration and gave me a 35k discount (there was a Knockdown Promo at that time.) I am not sure how much discount is he willing to give now without that Knockdown Promo. Just PM me, sir, if you want details of my agent.

    Good luck!

the 200 meters is the lenght of road that i felt that had the 3/4 tire height flood waters.

i beleive the insulation got wet when flood water hit the engine fan thus spraying it all over the engine bay.

i did have the brake and clutch fluids sucked out, as oppose to draining and bleeding it off, the old one was murky black. surprisingly there was imrpved braking performance with the cleaner fluid.

    regards

Hello Kurt, the author of this thread

I guess you went past your truck's Fording Depth which is 1/2 of your wheel height. I wouldn't worry about the those light signals as it may have just been a coincidence at the time. You can however do a simple check on some possible electrical wiring in the engine bay that the flood water may have reached.

I would suggest that your repack your wheel bearings since going through that 200 meter distance will get to the grease real good. Have the rear drum brakes cleaned too during this service. Other than those, the truck underchassis should be alright.

Gandang gabi 2 all! My wheels almost broke down a week ago.. Naubusan ng tubig, sakto sa tapat ng autoshop tumirik buti na lang ayos pa. and it cost me 2k. Sigurado humihingi na ito ng kasama. Anyway yun talyer katabi lang yun Suzuki, Nissan at Chevy. Nagka crush ako dun sa Suzuki APV.....gusto ko bilhin. That very same day i went to a Toyota Casa to look for any SUV. Then i decided id rather id get a pick-up truck instead.

Talk to a sales agent about Hi Lux....too much price for me and reviews ngetpa. Hop to Mitsubishi didnt like the looks of the new Strada same issue .ngetpa...so baduy for me...leaped to Ford...no value never checked out Nissan waste of time.

Hhmm...i dont have any idea kung san worthly bumile, yun ba makakasagad ako sa tawad, freebies at yun maganda service sa aftersales??? Anyone?

thanks for the concern and advice memphis,

i really do need to go to a casa or a five star shop for its annual or 20k.kms level pms. (odometer now at 88,xxx) since i have not been using it for my provincial trips in a while, i driven my dmax about 4000 kms lang for the past 12 months,

i been skimping on its maintenance. sa gas station lang to replace oil and oil filter only. hindi na cleaning of this and tightening of that.

though i did give my dmax a gift in the form of a k&n drop in filter, but the only effect it had was it made me drive more aggressively to try and bring out more hp as claimed by the product. heheh

I agree with you sir, the Dmax looks very manly and if you'll look at it from all sides, everything is proportional and the good thing is the 4x2 looks exactly the same as the 4x4, so there's no need to buy accessories to make it look like a 4x4 (this is a plus for me since I am not into those.) Both interior and exterior look great! It's really a head turner. I got mine in Isuzu Q. Ave and based from the 3 dealers (Isuzu Commonwealth, Isuzu Pasig & IQA), the agent in IQA had the best offer. For the after sales service, so far my 1st PMS went well though it took 5 hours for them to finish it. I guess it's really like that in all dealerships. What I didn't like was their lounge. It's so horrible!

I already referred my agent to sir dream_max as he's also canvassing for the best offer. If you want sir, I could also refer you to my agent, just PM me if you're interested.

Sir, how much was your K&N drop in air filter? I inquired in Speedlab and they gave me a quote of P8,500 for 08 Dmax and that comes with an adaptor. Did you really feel the difference in your engine? They told me that it will add about 4 to 5 HP over stock.

my sister got it for me thru amazon.com, less that $50 as i remember it, K&n e-2023. got the model number from k&n uk site >2004> isuzu>rodeo>3.0L:

but my unit is a few millimeters taller than stock so after closing the clips there is a gap on 2 sides of the air filter housing. i just used duct tape to seal it.

there might be some HP increase but i dont really feel it, i only get the urge to "birit" the engine on long straights like in whiteplains. yun na HP increase from putting on more fuel on accelerations. but my purpose in getting this filter is economics.

last i checked orig isuzu dmax air filter was Php8-900, at around 2500 for the K&n, lifetime na daw yun airfilter with maintenance of cleaning oil. alam ko mga 1000 lang k&n cleaning oil good for at least 3 uses ata. so panalo.

i believe a handful of guys here like memphis have the open cone type K&N, on that you would probably feel the Hp increase.

for real HP increase, i recall reading in forums (or this forum) about a simple? DIY modifications. for pajero gen2, nissan patrols. wastegate turbo valve something. ma search nga ulit dito.

hope somebody here will write how to apply on gen1 dmax.

I'm sorry, their quote wasn't for drop in, it was for open type cone with adaptor. I was surprise with their warranty - 1,000,000 miles! WOW! And they told me that it needs to be cleaned once a year. I believe the open type is the one where you'll hear the air being sucked in.

For real HP increase, I wanna try that devil injection but I think I'll have to wait until my truck gets a little bit older. So far I am still satisfied with its speed.

I also love to have that BOV like the one that sir 8800621 has. I just love the sound. Goodness, I just love a lot of things pero tipid mode muna.hehe
