I just registered now. Very new to this forum indeed...I'm still finding my way around. I'm about to buy my second car. I've narrowed my choice between the new civic and the d max. I like both. But I figure out, I can do more with a d max than with a civic. A pick up will definitely help me lead a more active lifesyle...like working my dogs. But my impression is that a pick up ages faster than a sedan (i don't know if this is true). My main concern is that in about two to three years' time, how would a d max look (and perform)? I don't have any plans to sell whichever car I would eventually end up with (too early). Between the two, I know that it should be a compromise on my part. Anyway, I'm soliciting from you d d max strongest and weakest points...engine performance, finish, rattling sound, shocks, aircondition, ride quality, overall condition of the car, etc. Thanks in advance!
I had the same problem like you once, a car or a pickup? I ended up with a pickup

I like the space age techi ipis design hehehe. well.. the vios looks more traditional and the city i think is more daring(love it or hate it).

sa mazda naman... it was really a looker!!! first time i saw it on the road i was drooling! but when I had a test drive and sat inside and the agent started to explain and point out everything, parang na-cheapan ako sa interior nya. well, it must be me coz the radio really was below par. it occupied the whole dash and super simple lang yun features nya... and the plastic materials did'nt warm up to me. the space inside was small too... although the steering was'nt a light as the rav, the cornering was good! nothing really surprised me on the sportiness side(i think bec i was already driving a rav) but the biggest draw back was when the agent told me that 2months daw ang waiting list. feb or march pa daw and he could'nt even verify with the plant kung kelan specific date. tas pang 40th pa ako sa waiting list...

anyway... i know i'll get flamed for this one :D pero we decided on the d-max(4x2) hehe . totally odd-ball! i know what you gonna say... "kala ko 1.5 or 1.6 li" hehehe

given na pickup mataas sya and mas suited sa rocky road manila hiways compared sa kotse. its a diesel so its very economical sa gas. it's got a bed so no worries about cargo! matagtag vs a car but its a compromise... i think it was more practical for us to get the pickup. the mz3 had sportiness on it but there was nothing new vs the rav(feeling ko lang) and another 2li would kill my savings on gas :D

well, thanks guys! i never thought aabot ng 4 pages yun thread ko! salamas to all that replied ang gave thir thoughts!!!!

I havent regretted choosing the pickup since. My wife complains the aircon is too cold esp at night(i have it set to lowest setting). There were times when we had to go to the province during bad weather, so it was a big help to have a rig like this. To traverse bad roads, light floods and bad weather. It allows us to go atleast where a car would not be sufficient... or atleast I would be more confident using a pickup than a car. It allows me to take on loads of cargo, that (again) a car wont be able to bear. Transport furniture, take home canvans of rice, baskets of vegetable and produce hehehe Masmadami ako naiuuwi pag pickup dala ko hehehe... And that worry free feeling about the pickup since its built to be more robust than(again) a car, esp on bad roads and the occasional bad weather we have in the philippines. Can't complain about diesel consumption, matipid sya. once I observed I had a full tank going up to baguio, and it consumed only 25% of it. I havent had a chance to take it up to baguio again to verify it bec. the ride is not as comfy esp for a family on very long drives. honestly, thats the only compromise for me. kaya minsan kahit guzzler yun suv namin, I take it on long drives esp kung may passengers ako and kasama yun family.

ngayon may bagyo(typhoon paeng) uli and its so nice to use the pickup during weather like this hehehe

    Djerms, 2Dmax

Thanks! I'll do that again, I have another run at that distance by Nov.1. I was just amazed na 1/4 lang ang nakuha hehe so hindi pala ganun.

You know I havent really tried yet to top-up the tank since I bought it kasi sobrang tipid nga and I don't feel the need to carrying that much weight most of the time.

Ang labor ng casa for a simple change oil job (5tkms pms) ay umaabot sa 1,700Php. Grabe.

What you can do is just buy the original filters sa casa then have another reputable shop install.

    Jason,
Ano difference ng Motul mineral sa Shell Mineral?
