interested in a K&n replacement filter for the dmax and did some research, from K&n uk site (2005 isuzu rodeo 3.0l diesel) it advises K&n E-2023; for isuzu part no. 8972490673. from online vendors price vary from $48-$60, wc i think is reasonable enough. last i checked orig thailand isuzu air filter is around php1000. so if i get pass 60k.kms i will be getting my moneys worth. k&n filters upto 25 washings daw pwede sila (at normal street use 50000 miles between washes, i believe thats 80k.kms)

can you guys advise me the price and availability of K&n E-2023 filter in manila.

i know there are pros and cons in using aftermarket performance parts e.g too expensive. but if this filter performs even at half of its claim, the numbers say its a good buy.

ps, btw the cleaning kit is about $20, maybe for upto 4 washes, not sure

cleaning kit here costs 900 pesos, the filter about 5k. there is also a thailand made drop-in filter that is made of steel mesh that is around 2.5k only.

kahit yun filter lang pala i uwi ko pwede na, (sana magkasya sa maleta)

btw baka mahirapan ako mahanap yun specific model for dmax, na inspire lang kasi ako nun nakita ko na readily available mga K&n filters sa wal-mart pero since diesel ver yun filter baka hindi available sa wal-mart.

yup ill surely bring him... kung punt aka ng isuzu ayala, just look for SIR JERRY.. head ng service yan.. kung sa mandaue man.. halos lahat dun kilala ko.. specially the manager ng service- sir JINGOY.... also the service advisors now me... hehehe.... tzt ka lng memphis.... pwede nnaman us magstandby sa IT park... much better dun para makita dmax niyo and show off a bit.. hehehe

OT: Grabe ang tibay talaga ng D-max. Sira yun Hood ng taxi, yun dmax parang namis align lang yun rear bumper and some scratches.

ung bumper lang ba mismo ang tinamaan? or pati ung reardoor mismo?
nakikiramay ako. ganyan din mismo nangyari sa dmax ko, wala pa rin plate number. coralla rin nakabangga, private nga lang. gasgas lang ung bumper ko ung black rubber part lang, ung chrome no dent at all. mas grabe pa dyan sa taxi na yan ung damage ng bumangga sa kin. pango talaga and pati radiator nya wasak. hehe. nakipag-areglo lang siya to pay for the participation. and i got as much as 10K php. hindi ko na rin pinagawa kasi gasgas lang ung damage. hehe

oh ill freakin get it changed to brandnew sayang insurance duh 30k hehe then my car agent said she will do the rest sa insurance side ehehehe i think sila na bayad participation if not hehehe ill bitch for sure. few scratches lang nga and plastic damage but shyet bago iniingatan dapat palitan ng bago =) poor guy i think he will get fired.

tip lang po, you know what's underneath that plastic (rear bumpers)? it's steel- hard pressed steel. looks deceiving though.

yes, i do agree with iniingatan ang mga dmax natin. pero, it's sturdy and ruggedly built. ingat, sure. but when it cannot be avoided, at least di sya ganun ka-lambot unlike sa mga sedan.

one more thing, the more na ini-ingatan, lalong nadidisgrasya...

yep that's true. kaya ako "Drive and play". kaya wala pa accident ulit na nangyayari. unlike dati na the more binebeybi ko ung dmax ko, the more may nangyayaring hindi maganda..
