Iwas offered last February by Fort that for an additional 40K+, I would be getting a 5 year warranty. But doing some math and some analysis, I came up that 40k+ is too much for an additional 2 years. Prior to my SF, I had a Starex for aound 7 years. In the first 5 years, the parts that i have replaced are idler arm bearing, different oil seals, power window motor, timing belt, radiator fan, battery, suspension bushing, power steering hose, and some other small items I can't remember. I believe all the parts I mentioned are part of warranty and would not cost me 40K. On the 5th to 7 year, came the big items like alternator, AC compressor, evaporator and steering pump. With the new SF, I believe that it is a better quality SUV than the 99 model starex. So for me, I would go for 40K discount now.
Hyundai is very much confident of their product's quality so 5 years warranty is very much welcome. Nawala man yong 40T discount but the assurance of a high quality car will always bring peace to my mind. Na bo-boost pa ang pride/moral ko for owning such a kind of car. Looks like Hyundai is really getting better.
yes sir this is confirm na po. lahat ng units by july 1 will be having a 5yr warranty![]()
Hi Guys,
Spoilers for the Santa Fe are available now at Hyundai Erod. 10K (not sure if this includes painting) and seems to look good. Have anyone availed of this upgrade before?
BTW, I am a newbie here. I hope to join in your discussions from time to time. And yes, this thread is really very informative. It helps soon to be first time Hyundai owners like me to be confident about their products particularly the Santa Fe. Nice to know there are a lot of satisfied users here despite the fact that there are a few Santa Fes (relative to Fortuner) out there.
Again thanks in advance!
Personnally, I for the discount. Im getting my SF tomorrow and I have chosen to avail the 40K discount over the 5yr warranty (no discount daw by July 1). I dont think a lot could happen in two years (yr 4 & 5) that would translate to 40K repair cost. Keeping my fingers crossed Im right!
Yes, all Hyindai cars are covered by this 5 Yr Warranty policy.
In the US the Sta Fe. is entitled to the ff. warranties:
1.) 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain protection.
2.) 5-year/60,000-mile bumper to bumper coverage
3.) 7-year/unlimited miles anit-perforation warranty
4.) 5-year/unlimited miles 24-hour roadside assistance
all the dealers i talked to confirmed the instructions of HARI that in exchange of the 40t cash discount, they will give an extended warranty of 5 yrs. i hope they will give the buyers a choice between the cash discount and the extended warranty. i would not choose the extended warranty because i agree that the 2 years extension would not be commensurate tot he extra 30t discount prior to july 1. HARI should maintain the cash discount if they decided to extend the warranty.
i will be getting my sta fe 2nd week of july and i would appreciate your tips on the best deals starting july 1. pls pm me the details of your deal and the dealer. i know there are different offers by different dealers cause i've talked to 5 dealers already. hope to get a fair deal when i finally get my sta fe. thanks
Dealers that I talked to share the same explanation that the discontinuance of the discount and the introduction of the new 5yr Warranty is to address excessive competition and price cutting among the dealers. Strict monitoring daw by HARI will be in place to ensure this will be followed.
I doubt this. I know price cuts and discounts will still be offered by aggressive dealers. So -- keep on shopping for the best price. I guess having a lot of dealers/service centers translate to better quality service, competitive pricing, and of course proximity of these centers to us Hyundai owners. Imagine, a Hyundai service center in almost all the majoir cities. Its a great time to own an Hyundai!
(PS -- Im not a Hyundai salesperson... just a very new Hyundai owner)
hey!
any SF owners tried long travels with full passengers/load? How was the engine performance? (particularly in uphill scene)
any1 wna share their experiences n thoughts....![]()
This is an interesting link for people considering the Hyunda Santa Fe for their next car purchase. Best accessed with a DSL line.

sir IGLOCK, thanks for the PM. i already contacted the dealer sales rep and he will give me their best offer monday. hope its as good as what you got. kamusta sta fe mo? share naman your good driving experience.
you are correct about the stiff competetion. yung mga sales rep nga of the same dealer are competing amongst themselves..
competition really is benefitial for us costumers..
Got my SF today. So far so good. Tried it on the Skyway and the ride was good. BTW, be ready for the oohs and aahhs of your family when they see it. Maganda daw sabi ng wife and in-laws. And the kids? I actually intentionally left the plastic covers on the seats for my very young kids to tear off when I got home. Pogi points yung Daddy for choosing a car thats really meant for them...![]()
