Congratulations and enjoy your ride. My kids love the individual aircon vent and the extra cup holders. The SF is made for long driving.

I doubt this. I know price cuts and discounts will still be offered by aggressive dealers. So -- keep on shopping for the best price. I guess having a lot of dealers/service centers translate to better quality service, competitive pricing, and of course proximity of these centers to us Hyundai owners. Imagine, a Hyundai service center in almost all the majoir cities. Its a great time to own an Hyundai!

(PS -- Im not a Hyundai salesperson... just a very new Hyundai owner)

yup it's a very bold move na ginawa ng Hyundai to give 5 years warranty
in exchange for the discounts. kumbaga to refresh the new car buyers na may bago promo sila ngaun. sa top management siguro, the decision was given to change the now obvious trend of giving 5 digit discounts as sales strategy

Mitsu, Mazda are catching up kasi sa style ng Hari. they're giving discounts too. so pano mo ma pre-empt ang panggaya na gagawin especially na may 2 bagong modelo si Mitsu ngaun

give the 5 years warranty. after another quarter siguro, start giving small discounts na ulit like 15k, 20k so on. increase incentives enough to sway a deciding car buyer to get a Hyundai.

sustainability ang goal ng Hyundai. they want to climb the ladder faster. just the way Henry Sy did with his Banco De Oro. nakakagulat ngaun ang BDO, from a mere 6th position some 4 years ago, tatanggalin na ata si BPI sa #2 slot

who knows, in the future they may also be the first to start the trend of 10 yr warranties on cars. how? they already have the figures and trends as early as now in North America.

ang mabubulaga na lang dito eh yun mga may ere pa up to now like Chevy, Suzuki, Honda and toyota. in 3 years time at kuripot pa din sila magbigay ng incentives sa car buyer. they may find themselves competing with Kia na. Kia on the process of duplicating Hyundai's feat.

    Hi fellow Santa Fe enthusiasts,
i'm happy to join this forum and
i look forward to our info exchanges that will help make our new ride a more safe and enjoyable one. just got mine last week. i got the refreshing blue- titanium color. i'm very pleased with this new baby. my friends and family especially my kids are so impressed and say that it's really a good buy. Let's enjoy the ride and have that "holy faith" on our santa fe.
    Cheers!
    stafeyer

ps i'm looking for the custom cargo liner / tray mat that folds/ self-adjusts with the third row seats deployed or concealed. i saw one on ebay motors u.s. (type on search: santa fe 2007 cargo liner tray mat). is this available locally?

any1 wna share their experiences n thoughts....

this is one thing u'll appreciate about SF. load it with 7 pasengers and no matter how long, how far you drive basta onroad, alang sakit sa wankata.

thanks to its smooth(very smooth indeed and better than most sedans) ride and soft suspension. even then, my 6mos preggy wife didnt say any "ouch" or " oops" after a 9hour long drive over an imperfect road from pampanga-tagaytay-batangas-tagaytay.

uphill? no problem.....but did'nt have too much of that (like baguio or sumulong hiway). let other SF owners testify.....

what about the SF's resale value? now that Sf is getting popular & hyundai's quality is improving, will it still depreciate more compare to other manufacturers?

nobody selling his SF yet so we cannot say much about this right now. owning a SF, you got be ready to keep it for at least 5 years. by then resale value is no longer an issue. If you can keep it for 10 years, much better. Go back to earlier posts in this thread and you will read a lot about SF resale value. The resale value and build quality stigma of hyundai is what every SF owner here has to hurdle before we made the plunge. What i can tell you is i am very satisfied with my SF.

me too sobra satisfied, kung upgrade din lang naman mas gugustuhin ko na kumuha ng BMW (sedan or SUV). di ko pagpapalit 'to even sa mga sikat na 4x4s like Patrol, 3rd gen Pajero, Murano, Pilot or the Ford Suvs

in 3 years time, once nag-sink na sa mindset ng mga pilipino na 5 years warranty ang Hyundai, madadamay na din kami mga 3 years warranty lang in terms of resale value hehehe

I think that the buyers of the sta fe have the mindset of using it for at least 3 to 5 years. I for one have decided to get it and probably use if for at least 5 years. Hence, the resale value will not be much of an issue since you already got 5 years of satisfaction. Also, you cant put a good vehicle down, with its good reviews and the reputation of Hyundai remarkably improving thru the years, these will help improve the resale value of the sta fe in the coming years.

Lastly, the price of the 2nd hand unit will be determined by the law of supply and demand.. the lesser the supply compared with the demand, the higher the price.. and vice versa..

    just my thoughts..

before i decided to buy an SF, inisip ko din yun resale value... but i researched a lot of information, reviews, testimonies which helped me convince to buy an SF. Obviously, those who bought a SF know what they are buying. Hindi dahil sa brand.

    1. I considered muna how long I plan to use this car. Kung 5 years and up, resale value doesn't give much relevance anymore. Think of the convenience + comfort (space, suspension) +safety + confidence (power, torque, speed) the car "paid" you in return of your purchase. Pag 5 years or over, mababa naman na talaga resale value ng lahat ng SUVs. Expect 40-50% nalang ng original value ang mabebenta mo. Don't consider a car an investment.
    2. The Santa Fe was benchmarked sa Lexus RX, Acura MDX, Volvo XC90. So it's really value for money when you buy an SF.
    3. I read reviews (US, Europe, Australia, NZ) about the SF. Kahit magkaiba ang specs nila sa atin (theirs have more airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC)). I got the general idea of how this car performs. I also read this thread.
    4. I also considered the diesel quality in PH and the maintainance of diesel engine versus gas engine.
    5. Dealer offers/freebies compare
    6. The future of Hyundai brand
    7. Test drive

Now that I'm driving one, I'm very happy with what I bought. No complaints. It surprise you pag nasa highway ka. Pero para lang may masabi kung ano di ko gusto sa SF, sana mas maganda yun stock stereo , wala na dapat cassette . Pero ok naman na ang sound. Tsaka addl airbag and meron ESC. tulad sa ibang bansa.

I could not agree with you more on these factors that you considered. I would like to add 1 important thing for prospective buyers: the 5 Yr Warranty. This really helps create a more positive outlook on the products that hyundai produces -- both from the point of view of the Manufacturer and the future owners of Hyundai cars. Remember they dont need to do this as market share of Hyundai cars in the global and local market continue to increase.

Assuming they retain the conditions of the 3-yr Warranty and just extend it to 5, your getting 67% more warranty coverage versus the competition. Now tell me if this is not true value...!

I guess you need to bring your parents to Hyundai showroom and see what they think. Better to test drive na rin

sir, i also checked the outlander. it was also inviting, the interior and exterior is much better than the previous model. compared with the other compact suvs, i will go for the outlander. i drive an xtrail and upon seeing the all new crv, rav4 vitara and outlander, my xtrail became outdated and last on the wishlist.

however, comparing the outlander with the sta fe is a no contest cause the outlander is 5 seater only and does not have a diesel variant.. if these 2 criteria are non issues, then go for the outlander.. but i think hyundai is ahead of mitsubushi now in terms of global sales...

even in the phils, hyundai is ahead of mitsubishi now in terms of sales and quality of vehicles, imagine the 5 yr warranty of hyundai now..

bottomline, it is still your choice.. just points to ponder before you spend your well earned million and a half..
