Mukang yung static problem lang naman meron ang Grand Starex. Wala pa naman yatang ibang reklamo ang owners.

Kaya pala parang lumalabas mas mura sa standout dahil 1 yr warranty lang, in that case malamang sa pitstop na kami kukuha. Pero kung lumabas na Gold model ng HARI at comparable naman sa gray yung specs malamang Gold na kunin namin.

Parang hindi magtatalo ang Gold at HVX. GLS at CVX palang walang wala na ang local sa grey market. HVX nalang kunin mo sir. Mas sulit at mas mura pa. Kahit siguro sa Pitstop motors ka kumuha.

Sa Q.ave nga yung Pitstop, Ironically katapat mismo ng Hyundai Q.ave. Between Standout and Pitstop depende kung ano habol mo, mas mura lumalabas yung Standout kasi yung HVX model na P1.738M with moonroof na pero 1yr warranty lang, yung sa Pitstop same price pero walang moonroof pero 3yrs warranty. Personally, mas gusto ko na yung sa Pitstop at least 3yrs warranty tsaka baka maging problema pa yang moonroof pag luma na baka mag-leak pa.

Seriously nakakainis na nakakatawa ang issue sa static electricity build up ng grand Starex at ang ginagawang remedyo ng HARI.... A customer spent a fortune in acquiring the unit and they'd make that awkward modification? Whew! (I'd better have an exploratory discussion with my good friends at Hyundai Alabang....)

It is indeed 'shocking' and 'uncomfortable'.....

just an observation lang,

lately i've been looking at the headlights of both the grey and local hari units,

in my observation (i don't know or it's just me) even sa parking or while driving

i noticed kse na ung inside part nung headlyt sa local hari units eh parang silver accent same dun sa silver accent sa dashboard while ung sa grey eh makintab sya na parang chrome type, im refering to the outline nung sa headlight and not the cancave reflector kung saan nasa center nun ung mga bulbs

eto ung part na usually pina kulayan ng black para maging smoked ung dating ng mga headlight sa ibang car.

just an observation lang po, hehehhe

ung dvd pede naman palagay yun, either roof mounted (40,000 AVT at winterpine) or ung 2 din na 7" monitor as low as 15,000 MTech na brand (Maspro banawe)

now if you want the factory installed original DVD/GPS (ung typical na nasa picture sa hyundai website na 2 DIN for grandstarex meron ako nakita sa standout order basis, add ka ng 200,000 sa HVX nila, plus some other feature siguro so mga 1.9M na un

actually im looking at the 19" AOC LCD TV (12,500 sa iba/11,900 in gilmore) baka pwede ilagay sa van

Were also planning to get a Grand Starex by the 3rd quarter of this year and have decided to buy from the gray market instead of the ones from HARI. We have looked at both the gray and HARI units, the hari unit is a big disapointment in terms of features (we were considering the 9 seater variant with the P1.648M price tag) now we have decided to get the HVX model from the gray ( the one with the moonroof) for P1.738M.

sir ron, may I know what the deal breaker for you was that tipped the scales in favor of gray market vs. Hari.

Ako, I'm still iffy eh. May plusses din kasi yung Hari model with two air bags vs the one of gray for the 1.6M model ah. Tapos the leg room for the Hari swivel model is just enormous. You'd have to take out the last row or the third row of the gray market model to match the leg room.

Pero siyempre the downside nga are the "minor" gigantic irritants of no: rear underview mirror, rear windshield wiper and glass antenna.

Di lang yon. Parang gusto nila maging katanggap tanggap na despite the massive price increase and fewer features ay sila pa din ang 'standard'. Shucks, so far, other than the looks, I can't find ANY advantage it has over our Ssangyong. Ikaw bro? Ano na na decide mo? Carnival?

if ever tuloy kami sa grand starex sa grey market ill go sa pitstop pero ill order the premium model with the sunroof and all the amenities pero with out the DVD package .. baka kasi di mag play ng galing sa quiapo and dun sa bluetooth phone di gumana .. aftermarket nalang JVC kw AVX-800 nalang just like in our altis though ..

Actually, its the small things you mentioned that tipped the scales, for one, I can't really stand seeing that ugly and awkward roof mounted antenna. As for the legroom of the swivel model, I'm actually planning to toss out the 3rd row seats so we can have a living room at the back.

so if budget permits go to the top of the line grey grand starex (and bring lots and lots of faith)(cross finger)


and since naka waranty ung car for 3 years or 100,000 kms do remember that you have to take your car to your grey market dealer for the usual PMS *5,000 kms interval, so thats 20 times in that 3 year span so as not to void the warranty
