Thanks, I computed the gas consumption when I went to baguio to be 7-8km/liter the same as my old intercooler turbo but considering that it has a bigger body meaning heavier load it is still an improvement.

I would like to ask for those who has the grand starex, the manual says that the climate control may be equipped with an air filter box. I wonder how would I know if mine has. Coz when I went to Baguio the air circulation is on the refresh mode meaning I am letting outside air to come in but I don't smell the fumes of the vehicles or trucks in front of me. Could it be that it is equipped with the air filter or maybe the inlet is not directly in front of the grill. Just wondering.

I am completely and sincerely at a loss on the useful benefit of a sun/moon roof in our tropical climate. Can anybody please tell me what is so desirable about having a hole on the roof of your car?

aside from free interior car wash when you forget to close the moonroof when it rains, its cool coz it give more light to the interior showing the nice interior and the handsome or beautiful driver of the grand starex. When in Baguio it is always open to let in all the cool air including the jeepney fumes plying session road.

Other than what bro dandang have stated above, the other use of the 'hole' on the roof of a vehicle is to accelerate cooling the interior.

When you're parked under the scorching sun, and you start to drive your vehicle, you normally turn on your airconditioning unit and open the windows so that hot air will escape.

It is the same principle when you open the moon/sunroof. (Cold air will start to occupy the bottom portion of the vehicle, pushing hot air on top, which escapes through the windows and moon/sunroof.....)

Saw a Starex TCi (its the one with black bumpers) spewing out black smoke at low speeds (apporx. 30 kph). Its a really surprising, considering that its only a few months old.

The Grand Starex of Mayor Joy is here again for our Family reunion. It's the base model TCI engine. Last January, we noticed that it's plastic lining around the windshield was missing, but now, it's got some upgrades.
1. added alarm with keyless entry and central door lock.
2. Replaced the plastic lining that was missing way back January, and he got it from casa.
3. Added the rear down view mirror at the back to improve backing up visibility since it doesn't have parking sensor.




it's good to see this GS still in top condition.

Nag-PM sa kin yung SA ng Hyundai informing me na available na daw yung Gold variant. Nadagdag daw yung rear spoiler w/3rd brake light, rear wiper/washer, 10.2 inch monitor saka leather seats. P1.768M yung price. Hmmm.... matignan nga kung kasing ganda na ng unit ng Standout

Sama ko na rin yung glass mounted antenna, pangit talaga kasi yung sa mga HARI units na nakakabit sa bubong, kakasira ng porma.

So far the my new GRand starex is way better than my old 02 intercooler turbo starex. It is so powerful that you would think Hyundai put in a 3.0 liter engine.
