Ganda pala nung red ah! Ano pa po ba colors meron na applicable sa CRDi variants? Yung kausap namin na ahente sa hyundai manila bay nung isang araw di pa tumatawag kung may CRDi units na sila... sabi kasi pwede daw itest drive. Excited pa naman ako... hehe!

Hmmm... parang may kulang pa pala sa bagong starex... nasan yung steering wheel controls? Parang wala din ata kahit sa GOLD variant. This is really getting below my expectations...

Thanks so much for the info. Just want to add another question regarding the airconditioning system? The rear airconditioning vents of the new Starex are similar to the design found in the Innova. The cooling system of the Innova is not that good/ effective compared to the old Starex. It takes too long to cool the cabin. How about for the new Starex?

my bros starex vgt came from standout, isa sa mga unang nilabas nila. the aircon daw is the same cold starex aircon. very cool just like the old starexes. just don't know kung matagal lumamig sa likod. saabi mga kids niya mabilis naman daw and better daw than the old one kasi meron separate thermostat controls sa likod.

Yeah, the lower end model doesn't seem to be worth the price of admission, based on previous Starex experience, and the top of the line seems to be way too expensive.

If you with the Previa though, you won't have as much interior space (if you need it), and your fuel consumption might not be as good as with the CRDI engine on the Starex. But then, in the case of the latter, we have yet to see what fuel consumption figures it can give.

Ah... kasi iba pa din ang manual... mas maihahataw and pwede itulak pagnasiraan. Besides pag van talaga manual ang gusto ko. Ewan ko nga kung bakit ang mga top of the line models ngayon puro A/T.

Well, comparing the vans of the early 90s to the Starexes with CRDi engines, hataw is a matter of how much the driver can take. Malalakas ang mga Starex na naka-CRDi, at ok na rin ang A/T tranny nila. But anyhow, that's still up to your personal preference.

As to why the top of the line models are A/T, I would think it's because they also expect the guy with the top of the line model who has a driver for most of the week, to drive it for his family on weekends. With the lovely traffic we have in the Metro, A/T is really a big convenience.

Oh, in the case, have you considered the new Carnival as well? I'm not sure of the new one's price though, but it may have more usable goodies compared to the base Previa.

IMO, the Kia Pride is a totally different story. 'Twas their entry level vehicle then in the market for people's car.... And, a long time ago.....

Ang mahal ng Grand Starex. HARI's bread and butter should be the CRDI GLS models but they're simply beyond the reach of the average buyer. As it is, these midrange models are already bare, so to speak. Wala na silang mababawas pa sa features. I just don't know what else they could do to lower the prices. Unless tanggalin na rin nila yung ABS, airbags, power windows & locks. Wala nang matitira.

We have relatives kasi who owned a Besta before and another one who used to have the previous model Carnival/Sedona and they were all POS. According to them, these vans spent almost half the time in the casa awaiting repairs during their ownership. So I guess kahit sino madadala.

FYI to all, the kia Carnival has won the Motoring Journalist (COTY Awards) best Executive Van/MPV of the year (last nights awarding ceremony)... Plus they got the most number of awards including the Carens, Rio and Picanto. The KIA pride stigma is a thing of the past....

I have had my carnival LWB EX for over a month now and (knocking on wood) have had no problems. I have posted 2 personal reviews on the "all new kia carnival owners..mergered" thread if you guys are interested.. I personally love the van.

Galing ako ulit ako hyundai manila bay kanina. Yung CRDi variant napakaplain! Walang kaclass-class. Wala na ako makita na magandang part ng interior except for the beige color. ang pangit ng likod wala man lang chrome design, wala nga talagang rear wiper, walang 3rd break light, walang under view mirror! walang wala! hehe! Kung hindi ka mabusisi sa sasakyan maraming mawawala sayo kung bibilin mo ito! Kung bibili na siguro ng grand starex ok pa siguro sa grey market nalang bumili... di ka pa dismayado sa itsura ng van, yun nga lang take the risk... wala ka nang 5 years warranty. OVER PRICED na talaga tong Grand Starex ng HARI.

ung stereo po ng tci/crdi is AVT. ung ilalagay "daw" po sa gold is same nung display dati sa wtc w/c is 10" overhead dvd monitor
