what is happening to HARI? has their big bosses gone nuts with the marketing strategy of the Starex? they will not reach their target of 8% by 2008 if they are going to stick with their crazy marketing strategy. btw, from our SA in hyundai commonwealth, HARI has a plant in Santa Rosa. why don't they utilized it for CKD operations for the Starex?

btw, we cancelled our order for the Grand Starex. we opted for the cheaper Vios, due to be delivered this saturday. maybe if HARI will get their brains working and improve the specs and pricing of the Grand Starex by next year, we will buy one next year or in 2009.

Yep +1 Looked for that thread immediately after I read your post. Good move! Good choice, EQAddict!

I sure hope HARI reads this thread and something good comes out of it. We possible future Starex buyers will benefit from that, for sure. Who knows, baka by then sawa ka na sa Carnival mo, EQAddict. Starex naman

Hi pup2, bro. EQAddict's action is aligned with what you were thinking earlier.....

Actually, what pup2 said makes sense. However, IMO, the new Carnival still isn't as flexible or cavernous as the previous Starex GRX, although it does come close.. The closest to being as flexible would be EQAddict's LWB version, since the 3rd row seats fold flat into the floor, or allow deep loading behind the 3rd row. The SWB versions with 3rd row seats do not offer as much space, since the 3rd row seats only slide forward. Dunno if they can be removed. The SWB EX version with 5 seats offers the most rear space, but sacrifices 2 seats.

Oh well, the first 3 generations of Starex really left some big shoes to fill.

The grey market VGT Starex that I often see parked at the market here has a black and silver VGT emblem on the lower right side of the front passenger door. Two-tone ang body color nya. I guess that's the easiest way to tell.

Now this make us 5... Although Technically I did not have to cancel my order for the Grand Starex... Starex was my 1st choice till it took forever found out the cost was so high plus the Carnival came out with the new LWB with all the bells and whistle, so I went with the Carnival... 3100kilometer later I am very pleased with the van!!! 2 thumbs way up!!!

3rd row seats of the Carnival SWB are fold & tumble, and can slide forward and backward. The cool news is that all seats (2nd & 3rd row) of the Carnival SWB are easily detachable too. Madali din ibalik after you take them out. Try it when you guys get a chance to.

Actually, that's correct. What I really meant, though, was that the 3rd row seats on the Carnival SWB don't totally disappear as in the LWB's case (or fold to the sides as in the Gen 1-3 Starexes). So you'll need some forward planning if you need the space where the 3rd row seats are at. But if you do plan ahead, there is space available
