Can last a decade or more depende sa alaga.![]()

Yep, the Starex's TCI engine is quite reliable and durable. Have heard more issues with the Carnival's 2.9L TDIC engine. So as to reliability, the engine on the Grand Starex's base model shouldn't be a cause for concern.
Whoa! The Grand Starex is FWD? Why, for such a large van? Yikes!
Alterra at Grand Starex? Grand Starex na, for the space, comfort and looks. Even in its base form, the Grand Starex can fit 12 average Asian sized adults. 12 of my 5'6" 200++ lbs sized adults are gonna be a bit tight, but that's another story. Hehehe!
For the power, the Alterra. But the manual TCI engine's torque should be able to handle the Grand Starex's weight. Though slower than the Alterra, it shouldn't be that slow.

i was just at a Hyundai showroom and took a look at the Grand Starex. Great looking van but the price is a bit too steep. P1.2M for a TCI 10 seater.
How much is the TCI in the gray market?
Im considering the TCI over the CRDI because if the 300k price difference.
Went to look at the Grand Starex a few months back at Standout, parang wala yata sila TCI variant.

Baka naman may kaibahan pa apart form the engine? Hindi naman siguro 300K difference for the engine alone? Alam ko yung Forester ganun din for HALOS the engine lang -- pero may other things pa din like sportshift, extra airbags, moonroof, etc. Ano kaya yung mga kaibahan na yun?
ok ba yung 2.5 TCi engine ng grand starex GL kita namin ito kanina sa MOA P1.198 for the 10seater manual model?
I'm choosing between the TCI and VGT models. In terms of NVH, is the TCI engine noisier inside the cabin? say, during idle, accelarating, and cruising?
Or is the insulation/damping of the Grand Starex pretty good already and the NVH levels of TCI and VGT models is almost negligible?
How does the NVH of the TCI compare to the GRX-CRDi model?
TIA
