STAREX CRDI with VGT AT !0 seaters GOLD- P1,768,000
sana lower pa...........![]()
I want to know the final specs! Im so excited with the Grand Starex's release! ^_^
nakaka panglaway naman ang grand starex. . . if ever na magupgrade ako ng van either yung CRDI na o VGT tech na. I like the inside and outside design of each models. And what I admire most of the van is the rubberized floor mat. Kasi si Misis and two kids me allergy sa carpet lalo na pag hindi na vacuum ng ilang araw panay sila bahing hayyy hirap emaintain. By just wiping it with a damp cloth malinis na at naminimize pa yung accumulation at circulation ng dust sa loob ng van plus matagal magkakaroon ng dumi yung aircon.![]()
Mayroon ng Grand Starex TCI on display sa Hyundai Sucat. Just passed by

Please correct me if i'm wrong
I had a close look at the new Starex yesterday at Hyundai Alabang. They have the TCI M/T on display.... The van is wider, longer and taller than the previous gen.... Interior is great.
I noticed that it has no electrical fan (the current Starex has 2 mounted in front of the engine bay), just the fan that is directly driven by the engine shaft.... I must be wrong here but the guy who was assisting me cannot point where these are... (The low end Innova does not have electrical fan....)
Also, the antenna mounted on top of its roop is just plain ugly....
Also, no fog lamps...Why oh why?
I need to see/inspect the other variants...

I checked out the 2 units ng Grand Starex at the Hyundai Sucat showroom this morning. Very tempting! One was a silver TCI M/T 9 seater (3 rows) , the other was a gold TCI M/T 12 seater ( 4 rows). Both are actually LWB models. Tinanggal lang ang 4th row doon sa 9 seater. The luggage space is enormous with just 3 rows. Kaya lang, the 3rd row is 'fixed' . It would have been better if sliding ito para ma-adjust ang legroom. Also, I noticed the emblem at the tailgate says H1. Is this how HARI will call the Grand Starex model now? Wala pa raw ang mga automatic models kaya panay M/T ang display. Specs wise, the Grand Starex is longer by 17 inches over the current model, wider by 3 inches, and taller by 1.5 inches. Mukhang hindi ito kasya sa garage ko!
Regarding the fan, I noticed there is now just 1 fan behind the front grill in front of the condenser, instead of the 2 fans in front of the condenser in the current model. Tinanong ko yung SA if this setup will do for Philippine weather specially sa summer. Ngumiti lang sa akin.
Bro., actually the current model, 3 ang fans... One is direct drive from the engine shaft.... The other 2 are electrical.......
Iyan nga ang worry ko... not a well though-off design, IMO, for the Philippine weather condition.... Ganyan din ang Innova..... Well, we'll see......
I hope I am wrong....

theres one more fan under the starex too.. ryt under the drivers seat.... so i guess that totals 3 aux fans..plus the main fan driven by the eingine..... no wonder the starex is know for cold aircon....
To sum up our individual observations on the new Starex MT TCI :
1. Only one 8-blade fan, which is directly driven by the engine (rev). Please advise if this observation is accurate as the SA says this is so. This may be an issue in the Philippine weather and driving conditions.
Note: Compared to the current model, with 1 fan that is directly driven by the engine (rev) + 2 aux fans in front of the condenser + 1 aux fan directly underneath the driver's seat (as advised by cocoy... thanks!)
2. No fog lamps.
3. IMO, ugly antenna on its roof (cannot be unscrewed when I tried it).... Maybe I am wrong here, but the SA could not, too.
4. 9-seat variant,- same body,- the 4th row of seat is removed. However, the 3rd row of seat is fixed so no opportunity for more leg room...(as observed by HoyMicky.... thanks!).
5. Length of the van may not fit in a good number of personal garages here.

re. single fan driven by engine, i think that would be adequate coz the 2.0 straight six engine of the bimmer is also a clutch fan driven by the engine + 1 big aux fan. so overheating problems naman.
