Hi guys,
I know you have a lot of stuff going on right now sa thread.
Baka natabunan na yung question ko.
Very very newbie questions. sana mapagtyagaan niyo sagutin.
Planning to buy my first brand new honda.
Need firsthand advice sana.
Sana po magrealtalk kayo. hehe
1. Honda City 1.5 VX+ NAVI CVT or Honda Civic 1.8 E CVT?
2. Ano po difference nung Honda Civic 1.8 E CVT Modulo sa Honda Civic 1.8 E CVT ?
3. Kapag bibili po, much better po ba na inhouse installation payment or car loan sa bank? Best dealer po na closest sa taguig?
4. Usually ilang days bago makuha yung car if done downpayment?
6. Wala po ba talagang humihiling na magkaroon ng manual na civic? galing kasi ako sa manual, so i prefer talaga kung brand new manual car sakin.
7. Meron po bang nagpapark ng Honda Civic 1.8 E CVT nila under the sun most of the time? ano po mga effects?
Open parking lang kasi ako. pipilitin na isilong, pero most of the time, open parking talaga. babad sa araw.
Sana may magtyaga sumagot ng questions if not all, some.

1. Honda Civic 1.8E ...
2. Just some body kits, better to stick with the standard Honda Civic 1.8E ...
3. Get loan from the bank, dealer loan is very high ... they just get from the bank and pass it on to you ...
4. Depends on the dealer, depends also if there is stock ... varies from 1 day to many months ...
5. There is no guarantee whether you won't get a lemon unit ...
6. The Honda Civic RS comes with a manual ... 2.98M ... sold out already ...
7. Consider having paint protection like glass / ceramic coating ... also a high end tint like Huper Optic, SunBloc or V-kool VK series ...
8. Ground clearance is a bit low ... no reverse sensors ...
*sofiacutie - will share some insights on some of the items you raised. The new Civic owners can share their views on your other questions.
1. Civic, no question. It is a much better car over the City.
2. Only difference is additional body kits
3. Entirely up to you how you will pay for your car, whatever the best deal go for it. There is only one Honda car dealer in Taguig and that is Honda BGC. You can try Honda Makati (Magallanes) but it is under the same management as Honda BGC which is the Honda Ayala group.
7. We park some of our cars under the sun. My in-laws and I share the same parking area. We cannot fit all of the cars under the covered slot so some cars are parked outside the gate. No issues whatsoever except getting dirty.
Hi sofiacutie
1. Go for Civic 1.8e. Pinagpilian ko din Honda City VX and Civic 1.8e. for the price difference of ~200k, I have no regrets.
2. Body kits lang
3. General recommendations for this is get loan sa bank, pero may mga sabi sabi na mas priority daw minsan ng casa mag release ng unit sa mga in-house lalo na mahaba pila sa Civic. Not sure kung totoo yun depende siguro sa dealer. I can refer you sa agent ko sa Honda Sta. Rosa.. mga 1 hour drive nga lang from Taguig :D
Unit was released in less than a week since hinintay pa delivery sa casa.
5. Before releasing the unit, pinakita sakin yung checklist na ginawa nila. Tinest drive nila yung sakin before releasing the unit para sure na walang defect.
6. Sana meron pero wala po.. Type-R lang yun manual dito sa pinas
7. Wala pa bubong yung garahe sa bahay. Downside is dumihin lang talaga and mainit sa cabin once na gagamitin mo na. Dun papasok yung remote start feature ni Civic para malamig na yung cabin before you enter.. hintay ka lang mga around 5mins. During coding day and weekends lang nabibilad sa araw Civic ko
8. Hmm mas malapad and mahaba compare sa ibang sedan like City so sa masisikip na kalsada at parking eh challenging talaga.
1. Civic, no doubt. The Civic has a better ride, better looks, more power, and more prestige than the City.
2. Body kits, definitely not worth 55k. Better to just spend that 55k on other mods. I spent less than that on my Civic and I think it looks much better than the Modulo Civic.
3. Bank loan is always better because the interest is much lower. Usually you're looking at 26% interest from the bank and 40% interest in-house. That's over 150k difference.
4. It will depend on the availability of the variant and color you choose. On average, around a month because the Civic is in scarce supply and has high demand.
5. Just the VSA modulator defect, which people call the "woodpecker" sound. It's easily fixable and is under warranty. Have not experienced it with my Civic though.
6. No manual Civic. No market for it. Only internet fanboys want manual Civics but the broader car buying market prefers automatics. I also had a manual Altis before my Civic and I had no problem adjusting.
7. My Civic is parked in the open most of the time. No issues whatsoever. I use the Remote Start feature to turn on the engine and aircon as I walk towards the car so that it's cold already by the time I get there.
8. My biggest gripe is the lack of paddle shifters and droning feel of the CVT. When I rev at 6000 rpm the car just drones which has a dull feel to it.
Other minor gripes - small stock rims, chrome grille not my type, no leather steering wheel, slightly laggy head unit.

1. Honda City 1.5 VX+ NAVI CVT or Honda Civic 1.8 E CVT?
Depends on how you can stretch your budget. Of course, the Civic is the better car. It's larger and has a premium feel to it.
2. Ano po difference nung Honda Civic 1.8 E CVT Modulo sa Honda Civic 1.8 E CVT ?
Body kits only. There's a lot of aftermarket mods to choose from and it's cheaper. But, personally, adding way too much bodykits will make the car look so jologs. Lol! The car look stunning as it is.
3. Kapag bibili po, much better po ba na inhouse installation payment or car loan sa bank? Best dealer po na closest sa taguig?
I paid cash, so, can't give you any sound advice. Lol.
4. Usually ilang days bago makuha yung car if done downpayment?
A month or two. High demand kasi. No stocks.
For my unit, none so far.
6. Wala po ba talagang humihiling na magkaroon ng manual na civic? galing kasi ako sa manual, so i prefer talaga kung brand new manual car sakin.
I'm a manual guy as well. There's no choice but go with the automatic. Actually it's my first time to drive an automatic. Lol.
You'll get used to it eventually. My left leg is missing the clutch so much as it moves on its own when I shift to D. Lol!
When I drive my other car which is a manual, I automatically step on the brake and turn on the engine! WTH?! Lol!
7. Meron po bang nagpapark ng Honda Civic 1.8 E CVT nila under the sun most of the time? ano po mga effects?
Open parking lang kasi ako. pipilitin na isilong, pero most of the time, open parking talaga. babad sa araw.
Anything under the heat of the sun will eventually damage it. Give it 4-5 years. There are a lot of ways to protect your car's finish (Big Bert's, Ziebart, Anti-UV car cover, etc.) Bottom line, your car is better off under a shade. You still have to worry about bird droppings and tree sap as well.
1) The horn! It belongs to tweetty bird. Lol!
2) Tire lug nuts can rust easily.
3) The plastic part of the hood which is at the front. I hate it because the color transition of metal to plastic doesn't blend well.
4) The rear tail lights. If you look really closely, if you wash your car or if it rains, water can get trapped into the gaps easily. I have to use a blower to force the water out.
5) The wiper. You can't just spring it up anyway you want when you want to clean your windshield. There is a sequence. Left wiper first then right wiper. If right wiper first, it will get stuck from the left wiper. WTH Honda??
6) No mud guards!
7) No side step protection/moldings. The area around the sides can get scratched from your shoes when you get in and out of the car.
8) Spare tire belongs to Mr. Bean's car. Tire width is narrow. WTH? Lol!
Other than this, it's a great car!!![]()
1. Honda City 1.5 VX+ NAVI CVT or Honda Civic 1.8 E CVT?
- City kunin ko pag daily or hirap ako sa malaki sasakyan at medyo maliit lang ako na tao and pati sa family mga unano lang kami. Hehe..
2. Ano po difference nung Honda Civic 1.8 E CVT Modulo sa Honda Civic 1.8 E CVT ?
- Nababaduyan ako sa mga may body kits so go for 1.8e na lang.
3. Kapag bibili po, much better po ba na inhouse installation payment or car loan sa bank? Best dealer po na closest sa taguig?
- Do your part and research, part ng car buying?
- Dashboard rattles and ung oem yokohama advan Db tires sobrang ingay. Weird, advan line up pa naman at Db series pa. LOL.
6. Wala po ba talagang humihiling na magkaroon ng manual na civic? galing kasi ako sa manual, so i prefer talaga kung brand new manual car sakin.
- If you really want a manual, pede mo naman pa convert. Pahook up ka lang MT tranny, linkages, and pedal assembly sa mga kamaganak mo abroad with MT civic. Gastos ka nga lang.
7. Meron po bang nagpapark ng Honda Civic 1.8 E CVT nila under the sun most of the time? ano po mga effects?
Open parking lang kasi ako. pipilitin na isilong, pero most of the time, open parking talaga. babad sa araw.
- alaga lang sa wax at a minimum.

Sa akin near the driver side aircon vent. It comes and goes and I could ignore it for the most part but still - disappointing for a Honda.
Funny I don't find the tires loud though.
