Is it gonna be a global model or are we gonna get something different again?
Anyone with a recent purchase?
5k lang talaga discount tapos di pa free CTPL and LTO?
Bank PO for 1.8E btw.
The new Civic will be powered by a new 1.5L four-banger turbocharged VTEC engine. This will be the replacement of the old 2.0L NA VTEC engine. Some blogs put the power output around 160hp with a good amount of torque at 2k rpm.
The front grille is not appealing to me but hey It's Honda and the quality build is par from Hyundai though I like the exterior design of new elantra. :D
Small turbo engines are the new trend these days. Ford and VW were just among the first to take the steps and they are doing well with it. VW and its subsidiaries (Audi, Seat, etc.) have been making full use of its 1.4L, 1.8L, and 2.0L turbo engines. Ford has been fielding Ecoboost engines (1.0L, 1.5L, 1.6L, 2.0L. 2.3L, 2.7L, 3.5L) across all its model lineup. Honda and Toyota are planning to field small turbo engines for its lineup starting 2016 (Honda with the Civic and next will be the 2.4L Accord). Toyota might change the 2.5L engine of the Camry with a 2.0L turbo, the same way Lexus dropped the 2.5L NA engine in favor of its 2.0L turbo on its IS platform starting this year.
The primary reason for the 1.5L displacement is the Chinese market. China grants tax breaks to manufacturers who put on smaller engines (1.5L or smaller) on their cars. To make an engine more powerful, manufacturers opted for forced induction. BMW and Volvo are also fielding out cars with their own versions of a 1.5L 3-cylinder turbo engine for their compact cars.

Paps. ibigsabihin may 1.5L engine na ang civic? Ok kaya yun? Haha diba mahirapan sa body nya yung makina?
It's a 1.5L turbo engine, not the usual naturally-aspirated (NA) engine. They say the Honda 1.5L turbo VTEC has better output (more power and torque) than the current 2.0L R20 VTEC engine of the Civic.
Ford's 1.0L Ecoboost is even more powerful and has more torque than most 1.6L NA engines. The 1.5L Ecoboost engine for the Focus is the same engine placed on the Fusion midsize car. Its power and torque is better than most 2.4L-2.5L 4-cylinder NA engines, used primarily in CUVs and midsize cars.
guys ask ko lang sana kung may group or club na po ba ang mga civic fc?
gusto ko sana sumali habang waiting sa unit ko dumating anytime soon
Hello Everyone! Matanong ko lang, would you be able to share why you would not buy this All New Honda Civic? What are the better options on the same price range?
Napa-post ako bigla dito sa tsikot because of this new Civic. I am really considering selling my old Frontier pickup to get one. Eh baka kasi meron palang better option on this price range.
Thank you!![]()
You define your requirements and list down your options before you choose. Now, if the Civic fits the bill, go for it.
For compact cars around 1M to 1.4M, you have a lot of options. See below. You could even get base model CUVs at 1.4M.
Civic (1.8L NA, 1.5L Turbo)
Focus 1.5L turbo (sedan or hatchback)
Mazda3 (1.5L and 2.0L)
Jetta 1.4L turbo (2.0L diesel is 1.5M already)
Altis (1.6L and 2.0L)
Sylphy (1.6L and 1.8L)
Elantra (1.6L and 2.0L)
Forte (sedan, hatchback, coupe)
Mazda 3 brah !!!
Take note that the ground clearance of the new Honda Civic is about 145mm or lower ...
Buy a Suzuki Celerio or Toyota Vios if you want people to say you used your brain but vehicle acquisition is usually not about what you need, it's about what you want (as long as you can afford it) ...
