thunder automotive and nemerson sales in binondo have replacement pads for almost all of the american cars running in the philippine streets. it costs me P1,400 a pair for my f-150's brake pads. P1,800 for my suburban. been using these american replacement pads for a while already and they bite nearly identical as oem pads. its good for daily driving. but if your into speed racing better get something better than oem.

If I'm not mistaken, M7 brakes are re-bonded brake pads.

I have also tried re-bonded brakes a very long time ago. But with the current prices of a new set like the Bendix brand, ok na yan for me.

Is this a sign of a high maintenance cost for the escape? How much does it cost to tune up the escape?

    Thanks guys!
hmmmm, I think replacements will suffice, or you can have your pads rebonded, well it's your choice, besides you can choose which brand of friction material will you be bonding in to your used brake pad, we have replaced our adventure with off-the-shelf non-mitsu brake pads and it's doing pretty good, I think the same may apply with your escape.

    Hi Guys,

I'm planning to replace my stock Goodyear fortera tires on my escape. My preference is a bridgestone HT equivalent. Do any of you guys know how to read what month/year the tire where manufactured ?

What is the code embosed at the side of the tire to determine its manufacturing date ?

I'm afraid these stores might give me tires that have been in their stockroom for so long and I want to get a recently ( at least this year ) tires.

    Thanks....

In my case, my suking tindahan (DKC Tires) doesnt give old stocks since he doesnt have too much on inventory since the distributor warehouses are pretty much accessible if there's a need.

My only reservation about some of the Bridgestone Desert Dueler HT's (the model that came with the '02 CRV's in particular) had a pretty low threadwear rating.

Try also checking out the Yokohoma tires or if you can find, BF Goodrich ;)

    ford escape ka na!=)
share ko lng experience ko s escape nmen..
last june s may road 1 stop light along mindanao ave. nbangga ung escape nmen. galing kme s stop light, edi nung nag green n edi go na, e may u turn pla right after nung stoplight as in less than 150 meters away, ayun hindi napansin ng dad ko n biglanng huminto ung taxi in front to make a u turn, ayun biglang brake kme, good thing malakas ung brake, hindi kame tumama sa taxi in front, sad thing though nabangga namn pwet nmen ng pampasaherong besta van. sapul kme s likod. as in lakas ng tunog nung impact, kala nmen wasak n rear bumper nmen. pro nung bumaba kme nkita ko scratches lang s paint ung effect, no dent at all. considering n malakas ung impact at van p ung bumangga. sa kanya basag ung pinaka front grill design nya.
pro cguro we also just got lucky that time n ung tinamaan matibay at mjo gitna kaya nakaya ung impact nung bangga..

ung smin pala o5 escape platinum gold.. 25 kms na pro so far good good pren=)

sorry s nobela, going back to topic, umm, escape ka na..=)

Yesterday I make a stop at Ford near rotonda. The agent immediately offer a drink to my wife e yong table katabi ng Escape. Sales talk agad yong agent. Zero down payment and 5yrs to pay. Total cash out is 70k only for the insurance and the chatel and LTO.
Bargain pala yong V6 4x4 na escape ngayon. Bakit kaya may bago naba?

    Gripes?
-the Escape is not exceptional. It doesn't really excel at anything.
-the ECU is in the engine bay
-the antenna is primitive (screw in mast type)
-interior plastics not exactly spectacular (acceptable naman for me)
-some drivers find column shift hard to get used to (I don't)
-a/c is not really user friendly (you have to get used to it)
    -parts can get $$$
-not every shop want to work on an Escape

-the ECU is in the engine bay

-the antenna is primitive (screw in mast type)
Ung mga 2005 models and up motorized na ung antenna.

-interior plastics not exactly spectacular (acceptable naman for me)

-some drivers find column shift hard to get used to (I don't)
Pangit talaga column shift.. pero ung bagong escape (and other new FORD suv..floor mounted na gwapo!)

-a/c is not really user friendly (you have to get used to it)
    The controls sucks really.

    -parts can get $$$
    Meron mura mahirap lang maghanap.

-not every shop want to work on an Escape
