By the way, the fan fix will NOT fix the burnt oil smell during hard acceleration. I checked. Mine doesnt need a Fan fix but i also have the burnt oil smell in hard acceleration. Sigh.....

My unit definitely also has that burnt oil smell during hard acceleration. So I avoid any hard punches when my wife and baby are riding with me. The fan will not fix the issue as I've read from other forums. What is your unit's built date? I think yours and mine are about the same period so my unit is also not affected by the fan issue, but I'll check with the customer service regardless.

Thanks for the update ! Yeah. I had to buy 2 pcs round concave mirrors and stick them on both sides. Ughhh. My driver already ran over the ramp and almost gashed my mags at the right rear in the v-mall down ramp.

Sunday driving (i.e. soccer dad time) the fuel efficiency isnt so bad. Maybe 5km/liter. And youre right about exploring the limits. Those limits are reached far too soon hehe.

Our manong driver has also ran over a ramp going up the parking in our condo. Good thing hindi masyadong mataas and also all tires when it happened. I had our manong driver checked and bought him glasses to be sure. Will not risk P2.595M hehe!

TO ALL: I still haven't received any letter yet. Did you have to register your vehicle or did your dealership do it for you? I'll check kung na register na ako ng dealer coordinator.

Mine already has the compass as well. The update might have something do with the software. Upgrading from version 3.02 to 3.2.2. It's supposed to operate faster and obvious difference would be the outside temp beside the time. You can check your version via syncmyride.com.

But come on, HALF A DAY??? Ang bagal naman ng internet nila haha! Dapat naka ready na ang USB with the software update like the US.

Did not see anything in e submenus. The Ecoboost has the typical eco-meters plus an economy history (up to thirty minutes' worth on bar graph). But the ecometer is on the small side data screen... Too small.

Last trip... 10 kml mixed, gliding on the hghway, 80 kmh constant gives 16 kml, 70 kmh constant gives 18 kml. Might be worth taking on the NLEX to try and hit 19.

Yes, the new Explorer has an Eco-Coach thingy. It's called: "Manong, dapat maka 10-15L/100KMS ka lang po ha!"

Just kidding, but there is none that I know of for the Limited V6 variant. Might be with the ECO-boost?

Update: I called Ford Philippines to verify my unit's registration and to check if they had sent a letter for me. Apparently, only 1 person knows and he wasn't in when I called. Hindi pa pala sila updated sa customer IT system. Way to go

Ah ganyan lang pala yung nabibiling mirror. Akala ko buong mirror so fitted, di pala Anyway, I noticed in your unit, wala na yung small mirror sa upper left side ng side mirror mo. I guess that's how one will know if you're driving the 2013 model.

Napalaki pa pala gastos ko for the WeatherTech floor liners worth 23K. Nakabili yung kaibigan ko sa Ace Hardware na exact fit sa flooring ng Explo. Didn't ask the price but I'm sure its way below 23K Pero nabili nya ay 1st & 2nd row lang.

He bought in Ace Hardware at around 1,000 - 2,000 pesos lang He forgot the brand. It's the tray type (floor liners) coz he has 2 kids so para daw mabilis maglinis kung may matapon. With that price, I'm not sure about the quality or baka maganda din at naloko lang ako ng WeatherTech

*dragonexplorer: The only matting or cargo liner that I know of for the Explo's third row is WeatherTech. You can just buy the 3rd row cargo liner (around 7K) only, you're not obliged to buy the 1st & 2nd row from Hart International (located in Santolan Rd, tapat ng Concept One). Ako kasi binili ko yung buong set.

It's fine with me if the quality isn't that great i only plan to use it when im with my kids or go to muddy places. I just cant justify buying a matting above 10k, it's just not worth it for me no matter how good the quality is.

I need those as wel kahit meron ng floor mat yung unit ko. Exact fit, that's would be very nice. Hanpa din ako sa ibang Ace shops.

sorry to butt in but this was my question in an earlier post. our unit is set to come out this or next week so i assume it's 2013 and i asked if they can do the MFT update and cooling fan check/repair. are these still needed for 2013? thx.

UPDATE: I just got a call from my dealership coordinator (DC) after the Ford Philippines Laguna Plant called them. According to my DC, there are no letters or service bulletins issued to 2013 Ford Explorers yet. As far as she knows, there is no word on the most recent update yet to the MFT. They may be just clueless on the developments or are waiting for the results of the new update before they go issue another service update.

Since I'm also a member of Ford Explorer and Ranger Enthusiast Forums - Serious Explorations, I posted about the MFT vs SYNC versions and another member replied to my query:

I checked mine and it shows CCPU S/W 4.28.12156. It does not show the SYNC version. I can't find that anywhere although I loaded and am running on SYNC version Gen2 - V3.2.2.
I believe CPU stands for Central Processing Unit. At least it did where I used to work. Perhaps it means something else here.

My unit's CCPU S/W version is still 4.23.11134 and after checking online the SYNC version is definitely 3.0.2. But, like i said before, I will wait it out for other members to experience the v3.2.2 update before I go and demand for it. So far, my MFT experience has been awesome. It performs better than my Nokia C2 touchscreen wehehe!!!

Got my unit updated today. It turns out, it's just a 3 hrs job unlike previously advised to leave it for 2 days.
Noticeable change is that the pop up screen or home now show's 4 quadrants. 1 for phone, another for navigation,
the other for entertainment & lastly climate control. In the navigation, it would show a compass so for 2012 models, 2 na ang compass natin. it also say's in the manual na dapat meron navigation sd card kasama sa bundle but is guess, they plan to sell this out in the future in the event mapagana na nila ang gps. i was advised as well that's it's more convenient now to use on iphones but BB ang gamit ko walang silbi sa akin.

As for the 2013 models, there will also be an upgrade as advised. As to when, wala pa daw confirmed date. Again, MFT upgrades in the future, we will should be receiving all these notices to keep our units updated.

Is there anyone with a 2013 Explorer with no problem with the smell of burnt oil/sulfur? Or a 2013 Explorer with the problem but the problem solved?
