Best FC I clocked is 7.85 kms/liter after covering the south (Daang Maharlika, SLEX and SKYWAY) then up to via NLEX, SCTEX and local highways Moncada, Tarlac. After filling a full tank in Moncada, Tarlac, I burned 1/4 tank of gasoline using Caltex Gold to reach Baguio (combination of flat and uphill). I guess my foot is a lil heavy on the get-go hehe! Anyhow, the EX's V6 is not as thirsty as I thought it would be. I think I can still get better FC after my first PMS.

By the way, the Intelligent 4WD is AWESOME going up Baguio via Marcos Highway! You can see from the console how the 4WD system distributes power when going up hill.

Mod update: I received and installed the rear bumper protector I got online from amazon.com. Workmanship is so-so. You can see some blemishes on the guard, but overall it does serve the purpose =)

How does your new Ford Explorer compare to your previous CX9 in terms of FC (city/highway/mixed)?

Also, do you notice if Explorer has increased fuel consumption when 4WD is activated vs running on 4x2?

    Thanks.

From amazon.com, the rear bumper protector including shipping to myshoppingbox.com was $83.98 + air shipping to Philippines by myshopping.com was $23.96 for a total of $107.94.

The rear bumper protector I bought is the same as spynz. Meron siyang pictures here I believe.

Cant really notice FC when 4WD is activated as its a real time system. Good thing here though is you can control the 4WD mode thru the knob in the armrest. I noticed that in highway driving though that its mostly the front wheels that are given power (based on the MFD display).
You are absolutely right! The Power Transfer Unit or PTU is only activated upon demand. Once you try to overtake or you are driving uphill, the PTU activates and then sends more power to the rear axle. You can see how much by the graph in the console or left MFD. Fuel economy decreases as more fuel is burned by the power demand. By how much, I'd estimate a decrease of 10-15%.

Cannot really compare Explorer to Everest and Trailblazer, because of the features Explorer has to offer. But you can definitely compare between Everest and Trailblazer.

If you don't mind paying the higher price tag of Explorer and fuel prices tho, then I'd definitely recommend the Explorer.

Na consider ko din yung Trailblazer before the Explorer. Na sold lang ako sa Explorer because of its safety features. Baby carrier kasi itong EX namin.

Now, between the Everest and Trailblazer, I'd go for the Trailblazer because of the better ride comfort. IT uses a 5 multilink rear suspension. The 2.8 VGT of the Trailblazer should more than suffice for everyday use and even good for ovetaking in rural highways.

    Hope this helps hehe!

    Exhaust in Cabin Update:

Only 2 of the 5 parts have been ordered. The 3 remaining parts are still on process for ordering. Will try to elevate to Ford Philippines if still delayed by next week.

go with the tow hitch so you wouldn't have to worry about hitting anything. never was a fan of bike racks mounted on the roof, personally i think it's dangerous.

^ And it's too flashy to have bicycles standing up on your roof. Tingin ko mahuhulog siya anytime

*EQ: I vote for the tow hitch too. It adds to the overall gwapo look pa sa Explorer.

Nice garage & house too btw.

Tow hitch din vote ko. Medyo mahirap pag nasa roof, in case something happens *knock on wood*, sa sunroof mo babagsak yun bike. Laking gastos niyan.

BTW, nice house, garage and cars

Good question... been using voice commands mainly for switching radio stations and turning on/off plus changing temperature of aircon only. Hindi ko naisip yung sa Rear aircon hehe!

What about a bike hitch rack?

Last December, walang stock ng window deflectors ang planta ng Ford. Ford Global told me I'd have to wait for about a month. Maybe this month may stock na sila, I haven't called them yet kasi ang mahal. They quoted me 6,200 for the deflectors.

I think dragonexplorer got his in Ford EDSA (or Alabang) for only 5,500 ata. Meaning mas mataas magpatong ang Autohub Group

Yup, got my set from FORD EDSA for P5,500 without installation. I had installed it by trustworthy all around fabricator guy na lang hehe! You should try calling FORD EDSA. Mabilis silang maka order ng mga accessories. I remember calling Autohub before and ang sabi sakin: "wala pa daw silang part number noon" even if I was already telling the guy I spoke to na meron ako. Sorry bad experience lang talaga ako with Autohub ever since.

I too have already quit smoking since I got married. Pero I have to say that the deflectors proved to be useful after our EX sucked in unwanted exhaust smell after overtaking multiple cars or just after hard acceleration. Unwanted smell gone after a few seconds of opening the windows at deflector level.
