The second row is manual fold. Pull the strap in the head rest and pull the lever to fold the seat. I wish it was power operated.

As for the mft upgrade i saw being done on another explorer.... Yeah 6 hours. Haha. Engine was drinking gas the whole time. They opened the showroom, put the car half in, put the laptop in the car, used a Lan cable ( so the connection would be stable) and twiddled their thumbs hehe.

Anychance there are aftermarket DRL kits specifically for the explorer?

Aftermarket DRLs can be a little tricky to install sa Explorer. Congrats EQAddict! If I may suggest, get the V-Kool OEM 05 for your sides, color is similar to the super dark of 3M. It is the cheapest V-Kool tint and has a 78% heat rejection rate. For your front, you can buy the X15 V-Kool tint. Color is like medium dark of 3M. Heat rejection is 81%.

Thanks for the suggestion numbah5! I think ford libis sells huper optic and not vkool. But let me try to ask them. Seems like a good idea. Parang the rear windows are factory tinted already? Only the front windows and windshield arent tinted.

Yup! As far as I know for Ford when it's imported from the US, the back passenger windows & rear windshield are already tinted glass while the front windshield and windows are not. I think it's because bawal ang dark tints sa harap in the US?

Buy the V-Kool from Ford Global or at their main showroom in Paco. But I heard they also have a dealer in Greenhills. I forgot what name. Huper Optik is more expensive than V-Kool and it is gray in color. Hindi bagay sa White Explorer.

depends on how badly you want a white one. ako my first choice was also white but i also liked the black and bronze, yon nga lang when i was in the market for the explorer the line for the white one was stil around 100+ on most dealers, so even though i was going to purchase one through their in-house financing scheme i still wouldn't be able to get a white one asap. the fastest color i could get was bronze and dark grey ba yon and at that time i needed to get one asap since na bili na yung forester ko so i got the bronze one. my only regret getting the bronze one was i couldn't get one with the brown/black leather seats.

Other owners in explorerforum.com have said mga 45 mins lng with the car started and in PARK. What is your built date? Mine is 05-12 and my Sync version is 3.02 pa rin after confirming sa syncmyride.com. I registered using the VIN of my Ex then made up a US address. There you will what update they had already installed for your Sync as well as what version. Mine was updated May 2012.

*boracay7777: It's really a matter of choice sa color. I would personally go for white vs the grey. Kung meron lang BLUE for the Limited then un ang binili ko. Regarding sa mga accessories. Just google EGR Side Steps 883638 or DeeZee Nxc running boards. Sites with best deals so far are autoanything.com or autoaccessoriesgarage.com. Kaya lng these sites don't accept international credit cards. Sa amazon.com meron din pero mas mahal.

*3ple4: It's hard to justify talaga if the shipping cost is more than the actual product. Better if you have a relative in the US and then have it sent via balikbayan courier like Atlas. Atlas accepts odd size boxes. LAst time i ordered a stroller and paid $100 for shipping. It took 45-60 days.

TO ALL EX Limited owners: did your Fuel Consumption improve after the break-in? I'm now thinking na magpa oil change na rin during the 1,000kms check up.

*boracay777: For me, I'd take white over grey. Before the Explo came out I also reserved the white but when I saw the bronze in the internet and youtube, mas nagustuhan ko and since my unit was one of the first batches to be released, I got the pecan (brown/black) leather seats.

*EQAddict: Same mags pa pala as the 2011-12 models, ang akala ko iba na yung mags like the one in the Ford USA site. I don't like really the design of our Explo's mags, niloloko pa nga ako ng friends ko na kamukha ni Megatron Ang mahal naman ng 20" inch mags sa labas para palitan.

Ang taray ng MFT voice no pag nagkamali ka ng sabi sa voice command hehehe!

Dealer of the year ang Global City from 2009 up to now. You get better tints, 0% participation fee from their in-house insurance, and better aftersales as exemplified by foresterx and 3ple4.

They got 3% d.i. And inhouse insurance. Much better than the 10% d.i. Ford balintawak was asking. I got free rubber mats and tint but i didnt have the tint installed yet. Cant really complain as i will pay it off next month. They asked me not to pay it off first as the bank still hasnt given them their commission. I believe there are lots of stock now as ford global city was also pressing me to get their white unit. Almost similar pricing in terms of financing though global city had an extended warranty price add. But in the end, i went with libis as they are closer to where I live.

Damn, wala pala talagang silbi ang pila. It all boils down to how much are you willing to dole out and more importantly, dapat via financing.

Mahal pala kahit seafreight. Mukhang mas makakamura pa rin ako if I order straight from FGP since P6,200 lang daw for the window visors. Eh yung sa EGR it's already $99 so plus shipping costs pa.

Why does it need to run the engine for 6 hrs while doing the download ? Electronic naman yun so just turn the accessories on should do the work. They can turn the engine on once their through with the downloading & doing some test. 6 hrs of engine running could drain a tank full.

*boracay7777: shipping via sea freight takes 45-60days. You can save a lot pag meron kayong relative sa states who can accept the package and then have the package picked up by ATLAS shipping. They charged me $100 before for an odd size box (Graco Baby Stroller).

*3ple4: I agree with you. Pag ang shipping cost ay more than the actual product then the purchase is no longer economical or value for money. Dito ka na lang bumili unless pag wala talaga dito.
Just FYI: I computed my current FC (Skyway+SLEX+Daang Maharlika) with total KMS of 271 divided by 35.73 liters = 7.58kms/liter. NOT BAD!!! I hope it gets better after the break-in period. I’m now thinking of having the EX oil changed for the 1000kms.

Ok in response to my own post earlier. It seems that v3.2.2 still has some bugs that need to be fixed after reading the explorerforum.com. Since the v.3.02 is working fine by me for now, then i will just wait for a better update. As per the members, only major change is that you see the outside temp back on the screen beside the time. Better to wait for a more reliable patch or update...

I just took my unit from global for MFT upgrade. Mas maganda siya ngayon ang may compass na sa screen. Iba na ang screen layout. I left my unit yesterday dahil may nakapila pa na explorer then today around 1pm natapos ang unit ko. User friendly and mas mabilis siya ngayon.

Honestly, mejo naguluhan din ako sa version. Maybe ung nakikita nating version sa actual unit natin ay OS version (i.e. S/W version 4.23.11134) while the Sync ay parang program. I'm not sure...

To exactly know your Sync version, go to this site and register your VIN sa: https://secure.syncmyride.com/Own/Mo...istration.aspx

Make up any address lang by using any US city in the right state and correct zip code. just copy any US address i guess like a Mcdo resto in california or new york hehe! Then, you have to input the VIN of your vehicle. From there, ma identify na ng site ung version ng SYNC mo. Once registered, click sync updates. It will log you on sa version ng sync mo. Sayang hindi ko lang sure how to post pics.

Well its official! for me about 4km/liter in makati /pasig/katipunan/c5 traffic hehe. I went to the office in makati from my home in q.c. Did a few errands in makati. Drove back home. Spent 1000 pesos on gas hehe. Back to the trusty Jazz for daily driving lol.

I know how you feel! Ung una ganyan din. first ride fill up was P2500. A few days later P2500 again haha! Gamit ko na lang for long drives ang EX para mas sulit. Then, when in the city, back to 4-cylinder X-trail (which hindi rin ganoon ka tipid).

And oh, prices of fuel are expected to go up next week. Heard through the grapevine: diesel up by P.30 while gasoline up by P.40-P.50. So enjoy na while gas is still cheaper this week!

I feel you too man So far 4.5 km/liter yung worst ko city driving with traffic. That's why I don't drive it everyday kundi butas bulsa ko hehehe!!

I knew that this wouldnt be an everyday car. So i am cool with the gas mileage. Am looking at using it only on weekends or out of town trips with my little kids.

I find the side window sills a little bit high. And i am 5'11 . So its hard to see the shorter cars beside you. Have to trust the blind spot indicators on the side mirrors. Also the left side mirror sucks. Its not the same as the right side mirror. Its not curved so parang the field of view is very small and the magnification is too big. Gotta buy a mirror add-on for that.

I need black mags.....

Yan din complaint ko (re: left side mirror) when I got my unit. So what I do is use the small mirror at the upper left corner coz diyan tayo sanay. That kind of magnification is also used in my brother's 2nd gen Tucson's left side mirror.

So if we're going to have our MFT upgraded sa casa, ano yung ma-a-upgrade... yung S/W version or Sync version lang or both?
