not all dealers are owned by the same entity or the manufacturing car brand.
some are owned by entities independent of the manufacturer.
some have higher overhead than others... location.. facilities.. workforce.., etc.

How about parts/services done at certain PMS? Do they differ?

there are two "opposing" forces here...
the manufacturer wants to have a semblance of uniformity... and some manufacturers can instill a stricter sense of discipline among its dealers than others..; and
the dealer has to contend with overheads.. and i suppose some dealers are more creative than other dealers, when it comes to computing prices... they have promos or "gimmicks", or come-ons or other "optional" special services, all to pad up the pms...

i am told, prices in the provinces differ from metro manila prices.. is this correct?

so i suppose, if you disagree with the pricing of a dealer, you can always check out the other dealers.
and you can look and see if you really need some of the"optionals" in the pms checklist.. some people can make an optional, look like de reguer..

Thanks for the info! Will just decide on which part/service needed just in case I get my Ex serviced at casa.

Btw, below is the screenshot of estimate (30,000PMS), as per one of the dealers i inquired. The other one said that parts only to be changed are oil and oil filter, other items are to be inspected only.

Update from another dealer. They said that they don't use Bluechem for oil flushing and IDS/SST for diagnostics. Also, cabin filter is to be changed only if needed.

Need help guys... planning to buy 2015 explorer 2.0 ecoboost this may... or is it worth waiting for the 2016 explorer...nag tanong na ako sa mga dealear at wala daw silang idea kung kelan ang release ng 2016... thanks for the help.

Next year pa darating yung facelifted explorer . If you can wait that long then I suggest you do.

Well the facelifted model wont have any discounts for sure and the wait time may be a bit longer. So you have to weigh that as well against the savings you can get from buying the car today. And besides its a great car anyway as it is.

if i was going to buy an explorer i'd get one right now. not a big fan of the new one, too much going on for me and all the features i want naman are already standard on the current explorer.

OT: foresterx did you get that masserati already? what did you replace your explorer with?

I installed a Sprint booster today. Made a world of a difference in partial throttle applications and city driving. The throttle pedal travel of the explorer is sooooo long, so much so that the first few cm of travel has almost no throttle response ( unless you are in sand mode but then it doesn't upshift). This is a major pain in the foot. This thing that I installed kicks butt. It has three modes: off, medium and sport. I keep it at medium and the throttle response is immediately there but not brutal. I love it. Changed the driving character of the explorer v6 immensely. Sport mode I have yet to try but its more aggressive.



Its the green button beside the steering wheel. Green for medium, red for sport, off for default normal. Installed by speedlabs. They sold it to me for 16.5k.

will get the ghibli s q4 from a ghibli 345. lakas kasi mang buyo ng soong brothers eh, never should've test drove the s q4, na bitin tuloy ako bigla sa 345. keeper na talaga promise.:bwahaha:

410hp for the s q4 and about 100ft/lb difference in torque, awd, different suspension, better sound system, vented seats and some other stuff that i forgot.
