I got the same letter foresterx. Huge improvement of the MFT. Regarding sa second letter they told me that they will configure the system to work for tropical country. Sounds weird co'z dapat lahat ng unit for Philippine market dapat inspected na.

I got the same letter which i mentioned in my previous post. I got a sched already this Tuesday at Alabang for them to attend on this. Initially they put me on Nov 16 pa dahil daw daming pang nakapila but manage to bargain some help thus they made it much earlier. They ask me to leave it to them for 2 days daw, which is fine with me since this will free up my garage. I'm preparing my explo for another long trip heading this long weekend ahead.
Matagal na rin nasa garage lang.

They just do programming on the ECU for fan controller. I left my unit last Thursday morning then following day 1pm ready na unit ko. Si Jaerold ang nag handle sa akin. What is really noticeable sa upgrade is that in the Home display of MFT, the upper right display is compass.

mine already has the compass on the upper right display, i guess yung fan na lang kelangan nila ayusin.

In that case you don't have to leave your unit. Saglit lang ang ECU.

By chance, any owners here have the GTDI? Have one for the weekend and want to compare notes.

So far, economy is quite similar to the V6 in traffic. 3-5 kml. Highway is around 12-15 kml, but 15 kml is super-super tipid mode. Suprisingly, got e display to show a steady 8l/100km (12.5 kml) going up to Q.Ave from Laguna, but tgat was early morning traffic. This afternoon, balik sa 4 kml traffic ulit...

Wala pa rin akong natatanggap na letter from FGP.

Iba pa ba yung cooling fan tsaka yung blower ng aircon? Coz I noticed mine recently when the blower is set at 3 bars or more, may naririnig akong sound na parang parang nagpapalit ng fan speed kahit naka-steady lang sya sa 3 bars. Normal ba yun?

Tsaka isa pa, eto dati ko pa napansin since I got my unit Dec '11. Everyday first thing in the morning or basta hindi pa nagagamit yung Explo for the day, whenever I step on the break to turn on the ignition, may parang hangin or pressure ako naririnig whenever I step on the break. Pero pag umaandar na or pag dating ng hapon even if I step on the break, wala na ako naririnig. Ano kaya yun?

I can only agree. My unit was bought at global but since malayo sa akin, i opted sa Alabang.

Give FCP customer service a call (49)5415000. they are very responsive & should be able to advise you if your letter is on the way or none at all. Then they can work out something for you if ever you haven't got any.

Tell us about the torque pls and if it drives better in real world conditions than the v6. Mine is always purring at about 2k rpm and i dont feel any torque. I have to mash the pedals or do the hassle manual mode dance. Also, how do you find the left side view mirror?
So far, peppier off-idle and by back-calculation, economy seems 20% better than when I had the V6. Confirmed with Neil Almighty that when they drove it to Clark, they were able to go further on a full tank with the Ecoboost.

But: it's lighter, it has no AWD, it has lighter wheels and Michelin Latitude X-Green fuel saving tires.

It SHOULD be more economical. With 2WD and the same wheels, I think the V6 could do similar with the same trim. And in full "upak" mode, fuel economy is exactly the same. I can see why Americans complain about towing economy... American towing conditions are equivalent to "super upak mode"

No manual mode. Just hill assist. No AdvanceTrac. Handling feels just as competent, wiin the tires' lower limits, and there's nothing holding you back from exploring them, unlike in the V6. Faster under 60, much slower over 100. Biggest issue is the throttle. There's lag when you punch it while cruising, There's a little too much surge when the turbo kicks in. And the throttle hangs when you let off. Makes the car feel too squirrely in spirited driving.

But in daily driving, fine. No real complaints there.

The mirrors, though,.. Both sides get the blindspot mirrors instead of the concave ones. i wish it were the other way around... You get used to finding the blondspot mirror because it's on both sides, but it's absolutely useless at night. Hope there's an aftermarket solutuon.

AdvanceTRAC is just too competent. Reigns in cornering exactly at 8/10ths driving... Right before things get interesting.

Don't know if I mentioned it here, but "Sand Mode" is pretty aggro. Should give you a bit more leeway in terms of traction control.

Sunday driving (i.e. soccer dad time) the fuel efficiency isnt so bad. Maybe 5km/liter. And youre right about exploring the limits. Those limits are reached far too soon hehe.
Where did u buy those concave mirrors? I was one as well. Only for the left side though coz the right side mirror has the normal magnification as other cars.

2 of my friends who also have Explos also got their the letter and one of them has already done the upgrade.

*macsd: The hotline that you just mentioned is not in M.M., is it? Mahal ba ang NDD calls? Baka kasi matagal ako i-hold

Their customer service unfortunately hold office in Sta Rosa Laguna where their main plant is. They are stone throw away from my place but i have to call them up using that number over my cp. Should not be that expensive as if your prepaid, it about 6.70/minute. Mabilis naman silang magconnect & transfer. Try calling around 10:30am.

Did not see anything in e submenus. The Ecoboost has the typical eco-meters plus an economy history (up to thirty minutes' worth on bar graph). But the ecometer is on the small side data screen... Too small.

Last trip... 10 kml mixed, gliding on the hghway, 80 kmh constant gives 16 kml, 70 kmh constant gives 18 kml. Might be worth taking on the NLEX to try and hit 19.
