we'll be getting our 2013 explorer by tomorrow or monnday, we are quite surprise by the fast availability of the unit since we only inquired last sunday, BTW 2013 model now comes with park assist, BLIS, 2nd row inflatable seatbelts, rain sensing wiper, auto hi beam headlight, hid, lane assist, etc....only difference i noticed at the exterior are the 4wd and flexfuel emblem and the additional sensor at the front bumper

Wow sir congrats! Saang dealer kayo kumuha? Did you avail of their in-house financing of 20% downpayment 3 years to pay? Since that's the fastest way of getting a unit eh.

We opted to pay half of the 10% D.I. as outright cash payment, then the other half kasama sa interest rate ng bank.

It's 2.595M now. 2013 model na ang mga parating. More features than the 2012 Explorer. Bi-Xenon HID Headlamps, Active Park Assist, Blind Spot Information System with Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Warning and Lane Keep Assist System, Inflatable Rear Seatbelts, Adaptive Cruise Control and Collision Warning System with Brake Support, MyFord Touch Version 2.0, Power Tilt and Telescopic Steering Wheel, Rain Sensing Windshield Wipers, and GPS with Voice Navigation.

...as I stated a page back, this will be an issue in the future (prolonged vibration can loosen and damage the thread on the bumper) and our plate holder will just fall off while driving.

... I wonder if this is the case with all of you guys/gals who have units already, and if this really the designed way of attaching the plate holder. It might makes sense in some states in US because they are not required to put license plates in the front bumper but I think it is a design-overlook considering that the explorer is marketed as a global vehicle.

...anyway....what i did is to remove the plate holder... removed the lower grille by pushing/sliding it inside to unlock the clips... insinuated 1-2 fingers in the back of the bumper through the opening of the lower grille to assess possibility of putting a nut that can pe paired with the stock bolts (or get 2 new pairs of locking nut and bolt)... it was a tight squeeze but I was able to put a locking nut in one of the holes, asked an assistant to put back the plate holder and one of the bolts into the waiting nut in my finger... repeated the same for the other hole.... tightened the bolts while my finger was pushing the nut at the back of the bumper to engage the serrated side of the nut to the back of the bumper thus locking it, did the same on the other side.... finally I put back the lower grille in place.

Now, I am sure that the plate holder will not fall off in the future..

Next problem is fixing the license plate into the plate holder (since you have to fix first the frame to the bumper because you will be covering the bolts with the license plate).... but I guess I will just fix the plate to the frame using rivets with or without acrylic cover.

    I hope this helps

Was in Fort Boni area tonight and saw a trailer truck loaded with 2 new Explorers (white & black yata yung isa). I guess it's the 2013 model Limited or the Ecoboost because the mags are different from the 2011-12 models. Yung truck kasya pang 4 na Explorers pero 2 lang so I guess supply is still short.

yong locks/clips are snap ons and are integrated to the bumper, you just have to push the snap ons as you push the grille towards the rear

Buy ka sa true value or handyman ng locking nut and bolt combination, marami sila yong small drawers with almost all kinds of nuts and bolts, don ako bumili maganda yong locking nut nila kumagat kagad sa bumper

Btw, i tried fitting the deflector frame to the front plate holder and it wont fit even after removing the lower clips of the plate holder... Unless you install the deflector not flush with the holder (tilting up or down) or shave a small part of the deflectors backing

In my experience, it is more durable and stronger than the Deflector plate covers. And cheaper pa.

I've never used glass.

*prostee: kamusta yung sa harap, nakabit mo na ba over the black panel? D naman ako nagkaproblema s pagkabit.

I noticed in our Explo that the wiper has 7 speed levels whereas Jap n Korean vehicles only have 3-4 speed levels. Ganyan ba talaga pag American?

Try ko ulit next time.

Hindi talaga swak yung deflector plate holder if you put it over the black plastic plate holder of the Explorer.

OT: HAPPY FATHER'S DAY TO ALL THE EXPLORER DADS

Hindi ko magamit yung Explorer today to celebrate Father's Day kasi pabugso bugso yung ulan, kakalinis lang

I don't know about other brands but it's like that as well for expeditions. even the expedition that comes with the rain sensing
wiper, very similar un control. That's why i thought at first meron rain sensor, but i looked at the windscreen walang sensor.

For plate cover, in our cars we use clear acrylic. looks very neat kasi walang frame.

Update ko lang kayo sa accessories...

I inquired at EGR Philippines for window visors, wala daw sila. I asked kung pwede special order, di din daw pwede kasi by volume daw sila magparating. They only have hood guard.

I called up Ford Global, the person in the parts department said alam nya meron daw window visors but he'll get back with me. And their accessories are Ford original.

For every dealer, kanya-kanya ba sila ng parating ng Ford accessories? Or do they have to get from Ford Philippines?

If ever I am going to put deflector, I will paint the chromed plastic frame with dull black, I don't want additional chrome on the explorer... tsaka baka sa likod lang

if you really want window visors, get IN-CHANNEL visors... kinakabit sya below the door frame so mas pasok sya, hindi masyado nakaangat... alam ko may ginagawa just ang weathertech for the explorer... personally i don't wan't so much exterior accessories as i do want the clean simple lines/shape of the explorer..

nong binili ko yong gas lid cover, inorder pa nila sa planta so I guess pwede rin iorder ng ibang dealers.
