10% D.I. also applies to Bank P.O. We never buy cars na hindi Bank P.O. Kasi according to the banks we quoted (PNB and BDO, preferred clients pa kami ng 2 banks na yan) and to Ford dealers we went to, if hindi namin kukunin yung 10% D.I., the lower the chance na makukuha namin unit by December.

My sister's friend booked one last October and til now, still hasn't gotten her unit. I wonder if Ford will force her to buy the 2013 model with price increase or will Ford still give them with the old price and older model.

ah ok, what i usually do kasi is have the bank issue an MC for the amount me and the SA agreed with that way cash lumalabas binili ang auto sa dealer and whatever happens between me and the bank the casa is out of it. kaya i could request a lower D.I. from the casa.

Dealer will apply the prevailing price when the unit is release and not on the reserved date unless otherwise fully paid during the time of the reservation. That's what happened to me, reserved in November, price increase in January, got my unit in March and paid it according to prevailing price.

Wow, she's been waiting for such a long time. it's either the color of her liking is delaying or she's always being by-passed in the que.

i'm guessing she wants a white one that's why it's taking that long.

on my other cars yes, but the explorer nope. i had to avail of the in-house finance of ford because i wanted to get one asap since the buyer of my previous car insisted that he get the car or else he'll buy something else. with in a week after placing my reservation at ford edsa i got my explorer, i plan to have the bank recompute it after a couple of months to make it cheaper.

Since kahit idaan namin sa bank P.O. 50% down, 24 months to pay yung Explorer transaction namin, kapag hindi kami pumayag sa 10% D.I., there is no assurance na makukuha namin yung unit namin by December; at least that's what the SAs at Global City, Libis, Commonwealth, and EDSA told me. Nakwento pa nga sa akin ng SA ko sa Global City na yung isang client niya, since August last year pa nagpareserve, wala pa rin yung unit nung client niya until now kaya nagback out na at nirefund yung reservation fee. Mas inuna pang bigyan ng unit yung mga nagavail ng in-house financing na 20% down 3 years to pay na 10% D.I. and Bank P.O. na may 10% D.I. Grabe no?

Our next course of action would either to file a formal complaint against Ford Philippines in DTI or start our complaint with the media. Iniisip ko kung kakausapin ko na si Anthony Taberna or idadaan sa "Tapat na po" segment ng TV Patrol Weekend.

May magagawa ba DTI dyan? Free enterprise tayo. Hot selling kasi yung unit kaya take advantage sila. Ganyan din naman nangyari sa Fortuner dati.

According to one of our lawyers, yes may magagawa ang DTI. Medyo in violation daw of the Unfair Trade Practices Act yung ginagawa ng Ford. Yung sa Toyota IIRC, kailangan mo lang kunin yung Kelseat leather package nila for the Fortuner noon para mauna sa pila, or ipasok sa in house financing nila. At least walang 10% D.I. May reasonable yung sa Toyota kesa sa ginagawa ng Ford ngayon.

Kung ganun, ituloy mo na reklamo. Para if I decided to get the Explorer, hindi na mataas DI

Confirmed ba na lalabas yung 2013 Explorer dito with full options? Kelan dating?

I have my big doubt whether DTI will entertain such complain considering their focus is on general consumption rather than luxury. I had my unit at Global as well & paid it cash, so there's nothing really the SA gained of the deal beside their quota. I reserved November at Global, paid 50K reservation fee, with contract no withdrawal on my side and they'll provide 20K worth of gas. Well, during that time all dealership are trying to feel the market for the new explo kaya cguro nagoffer ang Global ng promo nila. At any rate, i had my unit by March despite of all the obstacle they throw like V-cool tint, LTO registration, in-house insurance. What's the secret ? I kept on calling FORD customer service to push Global on my unit. I got the bronze color which i wanted (sometimes the color is the delaying factor) + the 20K gas coupon. it would be a great help if you have someone inside FORD or sa casa mismo. my 2 cents...

Going to tell my dad later to bite the bullet and get the Explorer by the end of this year, kesa hintayin pa namin mawala ang pila (which could be either middle of next year or end of next year). Mas lugi kami if we wait that long due to another price increase, and mas bagsak na yung resale value ng Exped at Sonata namin.

Why not wait for the Explorer Sport variant with the 3.5 V6 Ecoboost GTDi engine?

    Congrats!...

    Ako wala pa plaka....

Btw, did anyone check how the mounting plastic plate panel is secured to the front bumper?

Nong tinangal ko kasi I noticed that 2 big bolts are threaded directly to the plastic bumper, wala ako napansin na steel nut na nakaimbed doon sa bumper or naduling lang ako... So you cant tighten the bolts or else loose thread sya sa bumper... Nong binalik ko dahan dahan ko lang hinigpitan.

This might be a future issue baka bigla na lang mahulog yong plate panel na yan together with the plate, lalo na kung may deflector pa na pampabigat.

2x na tinanggal yung black panel and naibalik naman ng maayos. Walang washer sa likod kasi walang space para isingit yung washer. Dont worry mahigpit naman yung dalawang bolts.

Be warned... I was able to confirm that the front plate holder is secured only to the bumper by 2 heavy bolts with no steel nut in the bumper side, so the bolts thread directly to the 2mm or so thick plastic bumper... I saw my unit in my dealer with no holes in the front bumper before the plate holder was attached so it must be that the plate holder was attached only by the dealer's technician

...as I stated a page back, this will be an issue in the future (prolonged vibration can loosen and damage the thread on the bumper) and our plate holder will just fall off while driving.

... I wonder if this is the case with all of you guys/gals who have units already, and if this really the designed way of attaching the plate holder. It might makes sense in some states in US because they are not required to put license plates in the front bumper but I think it is a design-overlook considering that the explorer is marketed as a global vehicle.

...anyway....what i did is to remove the plate holder... removed the lower grille by pushing/sliding it inside to unlock the clips... insinuated 1-2 fingers in the back of the bumper through the opening of the lower grille to assess possibility of putting a nut that can pe paired with the stock bolts (or get 2 new pairs of locking nut and bolt)... it was a tight squeeze but I was able to put a locking nut in one of the holes, asked an assistant to put back the plate holder and one of the bolts into the waiting nut in my finger... repeated the same for the other hole.... tightened the bolts while my finger was pushing the nut at the back of the bumper to engage the serrated side of the nut to the back of the bumper thus locking it, did the same on the other side.... finally I put back the lower grille in place.

Now, I am sure that the plate holder will not fall off in the future..

Next problem is fixing the license plate into the plate holder (since you have to fix first the frame to the bumper because you will be covering the bolts with the license plate).... but I guess I will just fix the plate to the frame using rivets with or without acrylic cover.

    I hope this helps
