Hmmmmm, we can be allied with Ford Club Philippines (FCP) as an officially sanctioned subgroup... Only FCP is officially recognized/supported by Ford Group Philippines... The Fiesta subgroup is like that, under the umbrella of FCP... As a member of FCP, I can help in the process if you want.
Tayo na lang ang bumuo ng sariling subgroup natin sa FCP. I'll PM you the reason sir

Here's an article about our Explorer's IOLM (intelligent oil life monitor)....

2012 Ford Explorer XLT EcoBoost: Oil Change Interval

If you read the article, hindi ko maintindihan yung options sa Oil Life Reset located in the Message Center ("Set to 100%, Set to 90%, etc...)

The way I understand is after a change oil you normally reset to 100%, but if you want to be warned earlier by the IOLM, you reset to 90% baseline or lower...

Ako siguro I will set to 80 or 90% baseline after an oil change para mas maaga ako iwarn ng IOLM in that way may leeway ako for scheduling an oil change, tsaka makapag ipon na rin hehe

I forgot to mention before, my friend who bought his sterling grey Explo in Ford Edsa, had his oil change for the 1K pms... he paid P8,000 for the oil change.

Was he required by Ford Edsa to have the oil changed? Or voluntary lang!

Experience ko din with other vehicles, meron oil change during first 1K km

Parang nakita ko Explorer ni foresterx 5 mins ago paakyat ng BGC flyover going to Buendia. It still had the dealer plates of Ford EDSA.

That's another daylight robbery. The first 1K and anything they change should be FOC. Why was Ford EDSA changing oil while other casa do not or was it on your friend insistence to change it ? But ideally, they should change oil after the 1K break-in. I also wonder why they don't, as long as they will apply warranty in case of breakdown, i couldn't care less.

Like Ford Global, Ford Edsa didn't require him to change oil on his 1K pms but he wanted one so he just paid for it.

Speaking of oil, I just checked the Oil Life and it stated 61%. What does this mean? Figuratively speaking, could it mean that the oil is has already reached 61 years old and reaching 100 means that it's time for an oil change? Nasa 2,600 km pa lang ang mileage.

Here's how i understood it after checking mine. At information mode, it would show 61% with mileage is at 2600km. In my case, it show 79% at 2700km. This numbers indicate what was set on the intelligent oil life alarm. If you go to "settings" and change the %, the % you choose will show up on the "information".

What puzzles me though is how did those 61%(for your case) & 79%(on my case) was set when the setting selection is only by ten or 100%,90% 80% etc...

From what I understand, the oil life percentage goes down as the mileage increases, I dont know at what percentage do we see the warning (maybe 10% or less). So if you set the oil life baseline after an oil change, say at 80%, then you will get an earlier warning...

Hehe, from the numbers, 3ple4 drives more aggresively (more traffic, more uphill terrain, more baggage/passengers, etc etc) than macsd (61% at 2600km vs 79% at 2700)... I haven't checked mine but I guess I'm closer to normal driving because I usually have a baby as a passenger although the traffic in las piņas alabang can get heavy sometimes.

Is there no one here owning the Ecoboost variant yet? Sana magkaroon ng kahit isa so he or she can post his or her observations sa kanyang Explorer Ecoboost

Ako naman ang naisip ko, na pag papalapit na ng 100 yung Oil Life then it's time to change.

I mostly drive in the city, stop go traffic and have to maneuver around reckless pedicab & tricycle drivers na akala nila sila pa yung tama &%*#

Just had ilocos road trip, my combined FC for the night trip, light traffic drive with some high speed runs is 8.77km/L... Not bad considering I was fully loaded with 4 passengers and luggage and I did not use cruise control as it was not yet broken in at that time .. Too bad I'm back to 4.5 to 5.5 km/L city routine FC although hopefully it will improve considering I just have it broken in.

Overall I am very impressed with the handling and performance of the explorer, the explorer is eager to play as it easily downshifts on just a tap of the gas pedal... I also found out that the explorer has a speed limiter (di ko na lang bangitin kung ano speed hehe) pero ok lang yon kasi di naman ako nagpapatakbo ng ganon kabilis, na curious lang ako haha.

Bro, on 2nd thought, i think it would be better to replace the oil as what casa recommend which is after 5000 kms. The rational here is ideally they should have changed it at 1000kms but they opted for 5K with probably some metal bits from machine fabrication need to be flushed out early. From there, we can apply the IOLM.

since gas is cheap i'm using blaze but when it returns to 60+ per liter (hopefully it will go back to those prices) i'll use xcs. tried shell v-power nitro ba yon and mas mabilis maubos. usually around 300km bago bumaba ng 1/4 ang tank ko pag blaze ang gamit pero sa v-power nasa 240km palang ngayon almost 1/4 na lang ang natitira.
