Explo is on a 2.4M league while the fortuner & montero is almost 1M less. One time on a trip from Sta Rosa Laguna to Baguio, i just start to count how many fortuners i'll see along the way. Holy cow, i almost lost track after 275 and that was just after Pozorubio Pangasinan. That's how popular the fortuner is and still i see more of the facelifted 2012 model coming out than an explo.
Meron ba pang ibang accessories binebenta ang Ford Alabang? Not a single Explo accessory is being sold by the Autohub Group (Global & Manila).
this is probably what I'll do, so far speaking of my own experience, halogen bulbs last longer than HID bulbs/ballast... although the last time I used a retrofit HID was 5 years ago so I can not speak about the new generation HIDs reliability.
another problem is the availability of HB3 (9005) bulb type of our Explorers... is this common here?
9005 is a very common bulb used by a lot cars today. Usually 9005 are used for high beams nung mga kotse na
separate ang high and lo. Ang mahirap maghanap na bulb is for the expedition and e150
Just to give you an idea, these cars use 9005 for high beams
Montero Sport, Fortuner(1st gen and facelift), Accord, Cefiro, Civic, Expedition (2nd Gen), etc
I'm not so sure but i think the crv, camry and other jap cars with separate high, low use this as well
So we can basically buy a HID kit for our Explorer almost everywhere. How i wish na OEM HID na dinala ng Ford.
For me yun nalang kulang nya na feature. In our unit, at first I opted to install HID kit before I went for the retrofit.
If you ask me, for most people opting for aftermarket HID would be okay na. Lighting greatly improved compared
to the halogen bulbs, specially if you get 4300k color. Cut off didn't change at all so I'm sure you won't blind oncoming
traffic. But if you're willing to spend on proper HID projectors, go ahead, lightning will further improve which is very
useful specially when you travel a lot on dark provincial highways.
Regarding the durability, I would say, as long as you don't get the super cheap ones, it should last for a couple of years
granted you know how to use them properly (don't use it for flashing as you would do on a halogen bulb).

Yun nga lang the price will be more expensive than the local Explorer.
OEM Bi-Xenon HID lamps
Automatic high beam
BLIS (Blind Spot Information System) with Cross Traffic Alert
Inflatable 2nd row seat belts
Perforated leather front bucket seats with heater and cooler
HD Radio
Sirius XM Satellite Radio
Adaptive Cruise Control and Collision Warning System with Brake Support

I wonder how much more expensive they can be.
station tayo. Satellite radio require registration & monthly due, walang provider dito. hot & cold front seats kasama din
pero who would need this. Adaptive cruise control & ambient light meron sa local pero walang collision warning with brake
support.
I wonder kung meron talaga auto wiper feature ang local explo? ayaw kasi mag automatic ng unit ko or meron setting required.
Sir isa pa lang yung HD Radio station dito. Tambayan 101.9. Yung heated front seats pwede gamitin kapag tag ulan tapos sobrang lamig sa loob ng car. May ganyang feature din yung gray market Grand Starex. Maganda yung may collision warning with brake support, parang City Safety ng Volvo.
Meron pala Ambient Lighting yung local Explorer. Napipili ba yung colors nun?
Around the price ng Pajero BK hanggang price ng local Traverse yung gray market Explorer daw. USDM yung iniimport ng Hancars
i use the cold front seats lalo na pag nababad ang kotse sa araw. but heated seats, it never gets that cold in the philippines even on rainy days for our leather seats to be really cold that you'll need to use the heated seats.
adaptive cruise control i haven't tried, how does this work? do i just set the cruise control then it automatically adapts the speed of the car infront of you if he is going slower or faster than you?
auto wiper if you find out how to set it please let me know.
yes, napipili siya.
I also want blis and active park assist. It would be nicer to have blis rather than the small blind spot mirror we have in local units although I find it useful. Agree with you on the hd and xm sat radio, even if we have those locally i have my iPod so won't subscribe to those.
I don't think we have adaptive cruise control on local units. I think its just regular cruise control, I've tried it. And about the rain sensing wipers, sadly this is another feature that i miss. local units don't have rain sensing wipers as well
There's around 6-8 colors to choose from. Never got to use the heated seats on any of our cars that has it, except to play prank
on some of my friends. Weather here isn't cold enough, but I always use the ventilated seats. No more butt sweat. hahaha
