    kung warranty pa, you should follow the recommended interval.. pag hindi na warranty better research if your model is a sludge former so that you don't extend your drain... pwede naman extended drain interval pero from what i know gradual kasi dapat so you'll know how you chosen oil and filter will perform during extended drain intervals...

    Yes you could that's if you can find one there for that vehicle. You got to remember these are small displacement engines they are not 6 liter V8 turbo diesels, 12000kms is only 8000 miles. When you double the efficiency and dirt holding capacity of the filter which you will by switching a Baldwin then 12000kms is not a long run on full synthetic group IV oil.

    It also carries the Cummins CES 20078 / 20077 / 20076 rating which is for extended drain intervals of 12000 miles/ 18000kms.

    When you see that Cummins rating your good to go with extended oil change intervals. Due to the fuel quality in the Philippines I would keep it at 12000kms for a good safe oil change interval. This 5000kms is just madness and based on oil change intervals that are outdated on vehicles like that because oil have change a lot since the early 90's.

    The Cummins rating will also almost have a TBN of 12 or more. Mobil TDT only has a 10.7 plus it's viscosity at 40C and 100C are clearly inferior and also don't meet Cummins standards.

    Mobil MX
    SAE Grade 15W-40
    Viscosity, ASTM D 445
    cSt * 40ºC 123
    cSt * 100ºC 15.6
    CCS, cP, ASTM D 5293 6000 * -20ºC
    MRV, cP, ASTM D 4684 29,000 * -25°C
    HTHS * 150ºC, cP, ASTM D4683 4.3
    Viscosity Index, ASTM D 2270 133
    Sulfated Ash, wt%, ASTM D 874 1.3
    Total Base #, mg KOH/g, ASTM D 2896 12
    Pour Point, ºC, ASTM D 97 -30
    Flash Point, ºC, ASTM D 92 230
    Density * 15ºC kg/l, ASTM D 4052 0.879

    Mobil TDT
    SAE Grade 5W-40
    Viscosity, cSt (ASTM D445)
    * 40ºC 97.9
    * 100ºC 14.5
    Viscosity Index 153
    Phosporous (ASTM D4951) 0.11
    HTHS Viscosity, mPa•s * 150ºC (ASTM D4683) 3.8
    Sulfated Ash, wt% (ASTM D874) 0.95
    Total Base #, mg KOH/g (ASTM D2896) 10.7
    Flash Point, ºC (ASTM D92) 215
    Density * 15.6ºC g/ml (ASTM D4052) 0.85

    Anything with the Cummins rating feel free to use up to 12000kms, if you want to go further just do a oil analysis and it will tell you how much further you could go.

    Surprised that the TBN nung MX is 12, I think those are the US spec sheets since synthetic ata yun but dito sa Asia mineral lng po ata thats why TBN is 10

    thanks doc! with these values, seems that Mobil MX is better than RP 15W-40. but the bearing test showed otherwise. For 4D56 Tubo-Intercooled CrDI, is it just okay to have 15k OCI if using RP 15W-40/LF3564?
