Yes you could that's if you can find one there for that vehicle. You got to remember these are small displacement engines they are not 6 liter V8 turbo diesels, 12000kms is only 8000 miles. When you double the efficiency and dirt holding capacity of the filter which you will by switching a Baldwin then 12000kms is not a long run on full synthetic group IV oil.
It also carries the Cummins CES 20078 / 20077 / 20076 rating which is for extended drain intervals of 12000 miles/ 18000kms.
When you see that Cummins rating your good to go with extended oil change intervals. Due to the fuel quality in the Philippines I would keep it at 12000kms for a good safe oil change interval. This 5000kms is just madness and based on oil change intervals that are outdated on vehicles like that because oil have change a lot since the early 90's.
The Cummins rating will also almost have a TBN of 12 or more. Mobil TDT only has a 10.7 plus it's viscosity at 40C and 100C are clearly inferior and also don't meet Cummins standards.
