The JS catalog also says BD28 for the L300, perhaps your frame has a issue,

JS Filters :: Application Cross Reference and Image for JS : Oil (Spin-on) : C306J

The JS filter is 125mm long the BD28 is 136mm, that's only 10mm which is only a 0.39 inch difference.

* number001 measure your current filters and the space. All you need is 136mm of space.



This is how the original Mitsubishi genuine oil filter MD069782 is positioned in the engine bay of the L300 (when it was new). The filter has long been replaced and discarded.

Used the Js filter website comparison tool and it does say BD28.
