Here back from Fleetguard about that LF3564 that Pacer sells, It's the BD28 equivalent for the 4M40.

    Comparing Baldwin and Fleetguard

    Baldwin Upper deck cellulose media
    Lower deck cellulose media

Fleetguard Upper deck composite media combination of cellulose and Synhtethic
    Lower deck Synhtetic media
Pictures attached. LF3564 as shown below has been supplied by Cummins Filtration since YR2004 from source in Malaysia. All Fleetguard products will always meet or exceed OE specifications and they are covered under Fleetguard global warranty.

CSSPI has been purchasing LF3564 made in Malaysia since Feb 2008 So far, there has been no quality issue raised.

    Silk screen not indicated

We apologized if the current variation on Fleetguard silkscreen on Fleetguard products causes any confusion. Cummins Filtration is embarking an exercise to standardize the Fleetguard Silkscreen policy.

I would like to visit those customers of CSSPI who are confused by this issue and I will address them in person for my next trip to Philippines

    Country of Origin not indicated

Country of Origin of all Fleetguard products is stated in Cummins Invoices.

    Regards

I guess someone can give this one from Pacer a shot and see how well it works for them.

Just make sure it looks like this I guess. Since the information is coming directly from Fleetguard that the ones that look like this are legit I'll take their word for it. They say they will address the issue of the silkscreen printing of no country of origin. (still not a warm fuzzy with that one) but then again. This filter will be a 5 micron filter vs the 12 micron BD28.

I would ask to see the invoice with the country of origin on it first though since the other one was clearly different.

Doc, this means that the LF3564 that W&L sell is orig (no country of origin) and it is better than BD28. I still have one LF3564 that I bought from W&L and the one in my rig have not been changed yet. So no need in a hurry to replace it. Can still use up to 10K km.

I get the delvac MX 15w40 from a local distributor here. I bought the 5L pack worth P1,015. hehe

I'd use this na lang since mura naman and readily available. No need for FS for me.

Yung LF3564 sa W&L sana may maka-check kung orig na. Fake yung kay BG eh.

Well according to Fleetguard the one I showed in the picture is, that's the photo Fleetguard sent. It's about equal to the BD28 with a higher efficiency rating. Looks like less filter media but yes good for 10000klm to 12000klm.

Cut that sucker open when you change it next time and see how it did.

after using Zic A 10w40 for almost 200km, I noticed that the car shifts better than the previous oil that I used. I didnt know that motor oil will have something to do with the smoothness of the shifting of gears as well. Also, car is more "lively" now.

Thing to do now is to observe if engine will sludge if I will do an extended OCI.

Dvldoc, checked the B233 oil filter again, and it is not leaking. Will continue to observe for the next few days.

slightly OT, if I use a Baldwin fuel filter, how long interval will I be looking at?

    thanks!

They have the same gasket so since you have no lip on your filter mounting surface then it's never going to be a issue. I don't know if they would carry a filter for a gas 2.7 Innova at Volmax. Not much market for it like the diesel one. But a 40000klm interval on a gas engine is not extreme or every 4th oil change.

But if they do carry one it's the BF1100

Sir, I will check visually the oil color and viscosity after 5,000 kms.

So far it's doing a very good job compared to the OEM oil filter.

What you have appears to be the Malaysian made fleetguards, Since Fleetguard states they have no country of origin on them, They we both also fully sealed in plastic. I remember the ones that just had the plastic at the bottom were clearly china or local knock off's.

But it appears these from Pacer are not knock offs. But you still need to check what you buy there because there are still plenty of plastic only on the bottom knock off out there. And ask for the country of origin on the invoice.. This way any issues you are covered and can report it to fleetguard.

different printing on them than the US version of the fuel filter, Also has less holes for flow.

iirc, yung sa website ng fleetguard with regards sa lf3564 ay may 10 inlet holes while yung mga nakita ko na sample dito sa thread have 6 holes.

I just sent a email to fleetguard about that. It's a issue on that fuel filter as well. All filter has flow numbers and I am not sure how those could be meet with a reduction in outlet holes.

The fuel filter only has 4 holes vs 8 on the US version. and as you stated the LF3564 only has 6 outlet holes vs 10 on the US version.

The newer version of the FF5160 as even larger holes than the one I posted if you check it on the Cummins site. So that is a concern.
