Ok lang ba na sagarin kong 10k or mas maigi mag change oil na before the year ends (in the -ber months)? I used Idemitsu FS oil from Unioil 5w30 on my last oil change.
FS oils can be used for more than a year. Follow the 10k kms schedule.

kaso naka Toyota engine siya. Vios if im not mistaken. sa toyota namin (innova and vios, both gas), 5k km oil change parin ako. with Baldwin filter and Zic oil. mahirap na since prone to sludge yung engine.

ZIC A ba gamit mo? AFAIK, ZIC is semi synthetic so you are right with the 5k OCI on your vehicles.

About the Toyota engine sludge, are the 1NZ-FE in the Vios and 1TR-FE in the Innova affected? Locally, I have read about sludge issues with local Altis with 3ZZFE engines. In the US, Camry had sludge problems.

    vios meron din may sludges.

as for the semi-synthetic na 5k OCI, i think it would really depend on the additives of the oil. not only based on the type of oil.

im using Zic A. its better than the same priced OEM toyota mineral oil.

with the price i paid for it, im happy with the performance.

as for the OCI, i cant really give you a concrete answer since i do not have a data to back it up. but i will use it for a year or 5k km whichever comes first.

Guess he better use Delo Gold Ultra or Top 1 SDO then. Better cleansing agents, just enough zinc at 1200ppm. That can cure the sludge problem.

good oil + good filter will prevent sludge im just being on the safe side thats why i still change oil at 5k km interval. the Baldwin filter and Zic A oil is not too expensive naman. almost same price with other mineral oil and replacement filters hehe

2NZ-FE (1.3 engine) yung akin. Dec 07 acquired yung car pero 33k pa lang tinatakbo and since then kada 10k kms ang interval ng change oil ng FS. FS sya since day 1. Medyo napaparanoid lang ako kaya I'm considering those "cleaning" oils for my next oil change. Btw ok lang ba oem Toyota oil filter? TIA again. Laking tulong po ng replies nyo.

mobil1 semi-syn + fram extraguard oil filter for my old mazda truck. will try idemitsu extreme eco FS + fram toughguard on my next oil change [3000km or 5months whichever comes first].

for my ol reliable vw type1, oil change is 4x a year regardless of mileage. 2.5L lang kasi ang oil cap nito. hehe. regular dino oil only. will try FS and will see diff in performance.

Got to watch out first for the kind of diesel oils being used on gasoline engines w/ catalytic converter.

My vios acquired year 2007 (1.5lit) never pa nakatikim ng FS oil, semi synthetic lang, no problem sa sludge. Religiously maintained every 5k kms.

Currently using Zic A. Before e Toyota Motor oil, shell semi synth mobil mineral oil.

It's the same case in my 2007 Altis. 80,000kms on hand and it's still running clean using mineral based 15W-40 oil and the POS VIC filters.

I think i'll try the ZIC oils the next time around. Same price anyways.
