tama ka diyan, madungis mga caltex stations, and mostly ang parokyano nila ay mga jeep and trucks na naka-park harap nila... tapos nagmumukang talyer yung gasoline stations...

hindi naman lahat ganun, pero its a generalization that i think has some basis... hehehe...

just use oils primarily designed for diesels and you're good to go....syempre, kilatisin pa rin yung rating and additive package ika nga.

Oil thins when hot and thickens when it is cold. Since Philippine is in the tropical hot climate, most prefer using either 15W-40 or 10W-40 multigrade oil with higher viscosity rating especially at engine operating temperature.

yep, much better additives ang Rimula R3 X but of course I will go for Delo Gold Ultra na lang as you suggested with a higher API rating and pricewise hindi naman mahal.

^currently using Elf Excellium SM + baldwin oil filter on my gf's 08 Altis.

here's a link of its specs and reviews:
ELF EXCELLIUM SM 5W40 2010 - Singapore Motor Guide

so far so good. at 550php /liter, mas mura to compared sa motul (640?), mobil1 (800+) at valvoline Synpower (700+/-).

Delo Gold Ultra/Mobil delvac Mx or any diesel oil with API CI-4 and SL rating. Yan ang maganda for extended oil drain itervals eh. Again balikan yung manual ng ride mo if designated na API SM/SN dapat. Yun kasi yung kelangan if may catalytic converter ride mo eh. Bawal dun yung mataas zinc which is marami yung mga API SJ/SL oils most of the time. But if manual recommends SL rating, IMO the best pa din mga diesel oils even for gasoline engine.

okay thanks sir. this was brought up by sir ginnova and for the vvti engine, API SL or SM is recommended in the manual. So, I guess they could also use Delo Gold Ultra or Mobil Delvac MX for their gasoline powered engine.

For modern CRDi engines specifically for those korean SUV's which is powered by R-eVGT engine, will the Delo Gold Ultra/Mobil Delvac MX or any API CI-4 rated diesel oil work on that type of engine? o kailangan talaga ung mga fully synthetic oil like Mobil 1 or RP. I have read in other threads na dapat synthetic oil ang gamitin with that particular type of engine. Kindly advised. Thanks.

its not actually a question sir retz of whether its fully or semi synthetic or mineral... i think the advised made by HARI on insisting that user owners and casa must use FS oil, is base on the emission devices that came with their models , the Selective Catalytic reduction devices and their diesel particulate filters together with prolonging oxygen sensor...

which needs low Phosphorus and zinc (SAPS)

Delo Gold and Delvac and other strong diesel lubricants will offer much longer protection...

most Fully synthetic oils are CJ-4 rated na.... meh limit na sa ZINC and Phosphorus...

try mo tingnan sa ACEhardware yung MAG 1 All Fleet SAE 10w30 at saka SAE15w40 engine oil its rated as API CJ-4/SL,SJ.
    it cost around 1300+

Mineral , semi synthetic or fully synthetic?
