Guys this should generally be your rule of thumb when choosing the oil you need so that you get the most protection!!!

**Amount of Sulfur in Philippine Diesel fuel >500PPM?
**Is vehicle equipped with Diesel particulate filter?

----if sulfur level in fuel is greater than >500PPM choose CI-4
----if sulfur level in fuel is less than <50PPM choose CJ-4

----if vehicle is equipped with Diesel particulate filter use CJ-4
----if vehicle is not equipped with Diesel particulate filter use CI-4

The main reason why CJ-4 is created is because in other countries
Sulfur levels in the fuel have been reduced(advancement in diesel fuel)
And prolong life of particulate filters and catalytic converters

The TBN ( total base number/ ability to neutralize the acids formed primarily because of high sulfur levels in fuel) is lowered
the CJ-4 oils have lower phosphorus and other anti-wear additives generally termed as ASH...
The lower TBN of CJ-4 oils is due to the fact that the fuel has low sulfur and doesn't not need that much acid combating power

The TBN of CI-4 oils are usually high (10-12) because the fuel that is expected to be used is high in Sulfur.. therefore it contains lots of anti-wear like phosphorus and others to combat the sulfur acid effect....

As with our current sulfur levels in our diesel fuel CI-4 oils would be a better option...
ONCE it has been legalized and less than 50PPm of sulfur is enacted then CJ-4 would be option,,,,

    ^

baka sunod ng CJ-4 ay CK-4 na tapos puro less than 50ppm sulfur fuel level na. hindi na applicable sa atin. well, except for euro IV or V on some gas stations.

Just to clear up something about Isosyn tech that in Caltex Delo gold ultra oil if you notice in it's MSDS it's different then normal group II oil, It's actually classified as Group II plus. And has been proven to protect as well as group III (synthetic) It also has a heavy additive package.

    Solvent dewaxed heavy paraffinic distillate
    Hydrotreated heavy paraffinic distillate
    Solvent refined heavy paraffinic distillate

    KEY PROPERTIES
    SAE Grade 15W-40
    Density at 15°C, kg/L 0.89
Base No., D2896 mg KOH/g 10.2 Has a good TBN
    Flash Point, °C > 215
    Pour Point, °C < -24
    Sulfated Ash, %m 1.4
    Viscosity, cSt at 40°C 115
    Viscosity, cSt at 100°C 15.1
Viscosity Index 137 (same as most group III oils) That's why it performs as well as group III

    PERFORMANCE CHARACTERISTICS

too bad, the Zic UP i bought doesnt have Cummins rating.

Meets API service category CI-4/SL and MB 228.3/229.1 performances.
    Meets ACEA A3/B3/B4.

though a friend is also using the same oil in his 4g63 powered adventure.

^ Mataas naman TBN at yung VI so semi-syn talaga yan CB. Plus CI-4/SL rated yan so very good for both diesel and gas engines (as long as hindi more than 1200ppm yung zinc nga).

Mas okay sa climate natin and laso for older engines yung w40 viscosity. So better yang Delo Gold na SL rated naman. You don't need to worry about zinc levels since it i just about right at 1200ppm.

Still great oil, Mobil TDT does not have the rating either. They don't meet Cummins due to the Phosphorus content is to low.

The specs on Mobil which is almost double the cost are not much different.

Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel Truck 5W-40
    SAE Grade 5W-40
    Viscosity, cSt (ASTM D445)
    * 40ºC 97.9
    * 100ºC 14.5
    Viscosity Index 153
    Phosporous (ASTM D4951) 0.11
    HTHS Viscosity, mPa•s * 150ºC (ASTM D4683) 3.8
    Sulfated Ash, wt% (ASTM D874) 0.95
    Total Base #, mg KOH/g (ASTM D2896) 10.7
Flash Point, ºC (ASTM D92) 215
    Density * 15.6ºC g/ml (ASTM D4052) 0.85
