    Even with mineral based oil and a regular (OEM or VIC) oil filter, 5,000kms interval is fine (unless lumalagpas ka ng 1 year between oil changes).

    Any recommendation for a motor oil that is best for taxi units? are mineral oil lubs any good?

    Anyone tried using Kixx Dynamic CF-4 or Kixx Turbo RV in their D4-D engine? how's the performance? wanna try this sana.....

    IMHO, you will know a product is good in the oil manufacturer's MSDS and PDS. By this parameters, you will know the answer to your Q's. Or better yet a comparison oil analysis between an unused ("virgin") oil vs a used oil (say for eg after 5k, 10k or 12k km mileage). I think this has been tackled and given emphasis many times by sir dvldoc in the earlier pages of this thread...

    Siguro dipende nadin sa gamit, sakin kase semi synthetic gamit ko. dati nung de diesel ako fully synthetic gamit ko sabi ng mekaniko ko dapat daw yung regular lang para hindi daw hirap ang makina at para maka hatak din daw ng maayos. ngayon de gas na gamit ko, castrol oil 20-50 ginagamit ng mekaniko so far ayos lang naman. hindi rin ganun ka itim ang langis kaya bago sumapit o ang sked ng tsek up dapat ma change oil din agad ng di mangitim.

    advise paps, magpalit ka na ng mekaniko. walang masama sa old school mechanics pero mali ang information na binibahagi niya sa iyo. basa basa ka dito, madami ka pong matututunan.

    dagdag ko lang, hindi klase ng langis (mapa fully synthetic, semi-synth, o mineral oil) ang nag sasabi kung hirap/mabigat o magaan ikutin ito ng makina kundi yung viscosity niya.

    Darker engine oil is actually better than a "clean" one, it means the oil is doing it's job effectively.

    para sa akin ayos lang naman kung semi-synthetic ang gamit, basta maintain lang pag change oil. castrol maige rin gamitin at hindi rin agad nagiging maitim ang langis basta well maintain.

    Semi-synthetic din ang Top 1 SDO. Tsaka ang good engine maintenance ay hindi lang nakukuha sa maayos na maintenance at regular change oil. Malaking factor din dito ang langis. Sa Castrol naman, oo maganda din ang mga Castrol oil. Yan naman ang ginagamit namin sa FX namin na gasolina.

    You bet... pati ang pagchange regularly ng tranny oil slightly lalakas ang hatak lalo na sa M/T at mas may improvement sa FC...

    Yup, kahit anong oil basta satko viscosity at okay naman oil filter and sinusunod yung proper change oil interval eh safe ka dyan. Yung iba - me included - naghahanap lang nang mas okay at medyo makakatipid pa in the long run.
