What is your car / engine?

Are you experiencing any engine performance problems?

have a 01 TCI starex with the D4BH engine. i just feel like its lost some of the power that it used to have,, the thing was for about 3 weeks i had a 112 nozzle tip, i noticed the engine was nosier than normal..and it could only go 120kmph.. while benching lots of black smoke.. i then had them replace the nozzle tips to the original 130. which feels slightly better.....

Sir Dieseldude,

Hindi naman sya nagoverheat normal temp lang naman from 1/4 to almost 1/2 ang play sa gauge ko. Siguro magpapacompression test na lang muna ako to make sure na yon yung problem ko, saan po kaya meron may services ng compression test? expensive po ba yon and gaano katagal sya ginagawa?

Many thanks sir for the advice, dami ako natutunan about my ride.

Gundamwing,
Any Isuzu service dealer should be able to do a compression test.
Call up the service department and ask how much it will cost.

Hi Dieseldude,

I just wanted to ask if the aircon "idle up" mechanism for the Pajero 4M40 is indeed in the fuel pump? Also, can this be adjusted easily?

Many thanks! You're doing everyone a great service.

You're welcome.

You are correct. Idle-up device is mounted on the pump, near the throttle lever, and easy to adjust. It is vacuum-driven through a 12v solenoid valve.

So keep those questions coming.

Ask ko lang? Where would you prefer to see my thread? Survey lang. I don't mind the move they made, unless you do.

I have been viewing some posts on ECU remapping and system modifications to increase power and improve engine performance.

I would like to caution you about these things, as these tend to deviate from the engine manufacturers' specifications. Engine performance may improve, at the cost of shortening engine life.

An engine's ECU and/or fuel system adjustments are set by the factory. These settings ensure optimal power & performance, proper emission levels, as well as extended engine life.

Extracting more power from a stock engine is easy, as these basically mean adding more fuel and air, etc. But will your engine last long under these modified conditions?

Careful!!!
