depende po sa warranty. there are 6 month warranties.. 18 month warranties.. 24 month warranties. if your 24 month warrantied battery dies on the 22nd month, you get a brand new battery free of charge! but most of the time, the battery dies well past the warranty period.
many motorists wait for signs of impending battery failure, before they have the battery replaced. you know... not one-click start in the morning...
i know of someone, who replaces her battery no matter what, after 2 years. 24 months. naka-sulat pa sa smartphone reminder niya. she does not want to repeat the feeling of helplessness... even as she has the phone number of battery delivery.
btw, i never buy battery from the casa. it's cheaper and more practical, to buy one from official battery outlets. the warranty is from the battery manufacturer, anyway, not the casa.
i buy mine from the outlet 2 blocks from my office.

in my limited experience, nung bagong bili yung adventure namin, yung original battery nya lasted almost 5 years. tapos pinalitan namin ng same brand, same model, tumagal lang ng 32 months. parang meron talagang pang bagong labas sa casa na kotse na pino-produce yung mga battery companies na iba sa mainstream commercially available. is it just me or ganun talaga? hehehe...

my casa/factory battery died, one month after the warranty expired.

ako gamit ko in my classic vw bug is a motolite champion pm na 2sm maintainance free battery...
4 years and counting still alive

EDIT: and yun sa altis naman namin is champion pm 1sn yata 3 years and counting

its surprising that these batteries last so long, knowing the fact that the champion pm is the lowest model (base model?) maintainance free battery of motolite

Usually short distance daily driven trips or pag matagal natetenga oto ang nakakasira battery.. One way to combat this is buying battery trickle charger tas charge nyo lang every week.

Anyway, if manual oto mo. Then bili kinabukasan.

If automatic, since di pede tulak at minsan ala ring pedeng pag jumperan na oto lalo na pag alangan ung lugar.

yung stock na battery lasted only 2 years

maybe its better to get the base model batteries na lng as they seem to last longer on my other cars...

I recommend Deltran Battery Tender (the 800amp version) with an OBD2 adaptor. 4 years na battery ng Jazz and Sonata YF ko malakas pa din starting dahil maintained yung charge parati. Very convenient yung OBD adaptor kasi no need to open the hood and connect to pos and neg terminals. AFAIK yung mga locally available na CTEK wala option for OBD2 adaptor.

brother's motolite gold ns40(?) with his 2013 jazz died yesterday. 21mos warranty, but failed under 7mos until the warranty period expires. na-claimed naman yung free replacement(same with the old).
kaso parang ambilis naman mamatay nung battery, i have no idea with the manufacturing date nung dead battery though.

there's the cheap champion by motolite. warrantied for 6 months. mine died on the 13th month. i was using the gas model for my diesel. this car, i use for short (5 to 6 km) trips. heh heh.

but the champion on my other diesel is past its 2nd year already, and still ok. this car usually goes on longer (15-20 km) trips.

the hilux came with the de-tubig battery from the dealership doc. i have the patience with the top-ups tho and the car/battery would be on it's 3rd year come january 2017 and the battery didn't show any signs of weakness as of this time.
napa-isip lang ako,,, ano kaya't de-tubig na lang ulit bilhin ko. the most expensive ones ng low maintenace?

I've changed the battery twice on my 2006 Sonata. The original lasted from 2005-2010. The first change lasted from 2010-2014. I could have gone maybe a year more. But, I replaced it on the eve of our move back here. That 3rd battery is on its third year.

I can't remember if I already replaced the original battery in the wife's 2013 Rogue.

when the champion died, the battery guys at the shop opened up the filler holes, to see if the battery failed because its electrolyte dried up.
    hindi naman nag-kulang.
worn and torn lang, siguro. short trips and all, half of which was at night, even.

Yan din napansin mo on our montero. More than 3 yrs.

actually, even the maintenance-frees are still de-tubig.
it is just that, the manufacturer designed a long cover at the top, to hide the filler holes. if you snap off that cover (it is designed to be snapped on and off), the filler holes become evident. an ordinary philips screwdriver opens them easy.

also, batteries degrade faster, if kept in un-charged condition for longer periods of time. it seems, the chemical compound necessary to hold the charge, degrades if kept in its uncharged condition and falls off the holder grid. keeping the battery fully charged minimizes this scenario. hence the logic of trickle charging.

More than 2 years din ako sa low maintenance motolite battery. Cheaper than the MF batteries whihc cost at least P1,500 more iirc.

after warranty pwede nang buksan yung "maintenance free" battery to replace lost water. read somewhere na to add water only after charging kasi may chance to overflow

naextend ko pa yung Motolite Gold ko to another year and kahit capable pa mag start I retired it and yun ang ginagamit ko as an emergency power source

i then replaced it with an Outlast low maintenance type since ganun rin naman you have to check water levels, mas cheaper pa by half.
