depends on the condition of your electicals, lalo na alternator.

Was able to stretch my EG hatchback's first battery life to 4 years!

agree with PK. yung stock battery ko, simula nung nakuha ko sa casa nung late 2000, middle of last year lang ako nagpalit.

considering may minor sounds setup oto ko then.

brand was motolite maintenance free - 1SM. yung ibang mga kasama ko dito sa office, nagpalit na sila after 2 to 2.5 years. tapos walang ibang electrical modifications yung oto nila.

mahaba na nga ang 2 years eh..

kaya ung ibang manufacturers.. hanggang 1 year lang ang warranty.

para pag bumigay after a year.. wala na silang warranty expense..hehe

I think that's for purging or serve as relief for excess gas "Hydrogen". During battery in operation (Flowing of electricity) there's some chemical reactions inside the battery that produced Hydrogen.

Someone to correct me if I'm wrong

ok na ang two years.

IF you reach beyond 2 years of your battery life, IMO sulit kna dito...

unlike yung maintenance battery humihina muna bgo mamatay...

Aside from electricals, can we say that stop and go traffic and hot weather (like ours) affect battery life span?

Yup...engine bay & solar heat(best garaged)....& bad roads, too. Some makes have their batts in the trunk. Why this isn't standard? Added production cost & bad for the batt industry.[emoji13]

    1. longer, large-gauge battery cables are expensive. they add significantly to the cost of car manufacture.

    2. also, it is not to the manufacturer's expense, when replacing dead batteries from off-warranty cars. heh heh.

just like what everyone said previously..lifespan of batteries are usually 2 years. If it reached that, then it was worth buying. I am happy to note that my stock motolite maintanence free battery is still alive and kicking. 3 years na. Orig battery since it was bought. hehehhehe. motolite ako ulit.if ever it needs replacement soon.

You'll never know what happens after that because batteries nowadays do not show any tell tale signs that they're going down, even with visual indicators on the unit. Just dies instantaneously.... Saves you the heartaches and more importantly,- abala.

Kung brand new vehicles,- normally 2 years, dahil (daw) mas makapal ang plates....
