i checked the great wall cars here in las pinas... based on my inspection OK ang build quality ng great wall compared sa chery (actually mas maganda pa sa india made suzuki alto yung interior) yung wingle ang naka display sa may LTO.. maganda ang interior malinis wala masyado excess plastics.. pati mga rubber seals ay maganda din.. hindi ko lang type yung sara ng pinto.. hindi buo eh.. parang mahigpit na maluwag na hindi maintindihan..

on the engine, great wall manufactured sya unlike ng chery na acteco.. CRDI turbo diesel na din.. whats great about this is they use BOSCH system which is the same system used by euro cars like BMW and korean brands HYUNDAI KIA cars.. wala na din engine cooling fan instead they used electric fans for the radiator and condenser..

overall, OK naman ang greatwall and other china cars.. ang HINDI ko lang gusto eh SOBRANG MAHAL sila mag presyo.. maganda sana pero dapat below ang price nila sa mga known brands na.. like for example yung cool bear at almost 800K na ang presyo.. konti na lang eh may top of the line Mitsubishi Adventure ka na.. yung lang PERI nasa 495K na eh masyadong mahal pa

oo nga anyway yung model naman ng scion na ginaya nila eh phaseout na.. may bago na po na model ang scion.. kaya nga sabi ko previously possible talaga na nabili nila yung mold and toolings ng previous scion model..

sa tingin ko magkaiba sa dimensions yung coolbear compared sa scion.. parang mas maliit yung coolbear

"The Coolbear borrows its design from a Toyota sold overseas — Great Wall says it now has an "understanding" with Toyota — and is one of the new breed of boxy cars aimed at the difficult-to-please Gen Y."

I agree SOBRANG MAHAL. If the Coolbear is copied from the 7-year old 2003 model Toyota Scion, why is it priced so high at almost P800T? Close to ISUZU and MITSUBISHI prices na yan.

yung mold lang naman ang ginaya at yung design ng interior.

pero ang ginamit na mga materials circa 2009-10 (hindi 2003 din).

tapos nilagyan ng mga bagong features (inlay turning signal, bosch electronic accelerograph, audio control in steering wheel, etc.) tapos vvt engine.

hindi naman po 800k.

yung manual nila ay 695k lang.

ang 765k ay ang 6 speed cvt automatics with manual mode. yun ang akin.

Great Wall Motor, the only Chinese carmaker granted approval to sell its cars throughout the European Union, is hoping to lead Chinese auto brands into the global market.
Wang Fengying, GW Motor’s chief executive, told the Global Times Friday that the Chinese auto industry must build up the brand reputation of “Chinese cars” in the global market. At the just-finished National People’s Congress (NPC), where Wang was a deputy, she proposed drawing up a plan for Chinese cars’ branding.
Wang suggested the central government set up basic national standards for Chinese cars. “It is the way to change the idea that Made-in- China means cheap and bad quality,” Wang said.
Zhong Shi, an independent auto analyst based in Beijing, said that as there is no third party to assess the quality in China, it is hard to tell whether Chinese cars are as good as foreign ones.
“Good or bad is just producers’ and consumers’ sense, not an objective judgment,” Zhong said.
Although Wang admits there is no way for Chinese cars to compete with high-end foreign brands, such as BMW and Mercedes Benz, she is very confident in the quality of Chinese cars compared with other popular brands.
“There is no difference in quality between Chinese cars and foreign cars except differences in taste, marketing and brand reputation,” Wang said. “In areas as simple as naming our cars in English, we still need to learn from our overseas competitors.”
