Yeah but Chinese cars in China is totally different from Chinese cars in the Philippines. There they have lot of support, and some of these Chinese car makers are partially owned by the communist government. Eh dito, we have really small companies that sell these Chinese cars that can easily fold anytime. And if they fold, there goes your maintenance and parts...

if there will be more people who think like me, i dont believe that will happen.

that is why i told myself, once i get my first chinese vehicle and am happy with it, i dont mind doing PR for them. thats the best way to neutralize and even thwart the bad publicity chinese manufacturers are getting from people who havent even used their vehicles.

well, lousy car or not, aren't you still going to love it?

our 10 y.o. ranger is pathetic by today's standards, but we still find it charming.

Yep.

F1... F3 man lang?

Hangga't hindi sila dadaan dyan, they have to settle as being budget cars only, bigboy toys even. Marami nga sa kanila, pwedeng poor man's Cooper, Fortuner, Yaris, Starex.

Great Wall and Chery joined the Paris Dakar Rally last January sa Production Class. They've finished and survived the rally.

    Well, well...

Several mighty big names came later than the lowly GWHover...

    More of these, who knows...

IMO, they're on the right track going against the big boys! ;)

    http://smh.drive.com.au/motor-news/c...0422-tdph.html

Sydney Morning Herald, Cars that Changed the Rules, 23 April 2010.

    From the article:

    Great Wall X240 SUV 2010
Having been here only a matter of months, this Chinese-made four-wheel-drive has yet to earn its stripes or indeed, make a difference to the automotive industry. But being priced from $24,000 (AUD 1 = PHP 41.++) on the road with features including airconditioning, power windows, leather trim and an electric transfer case, it seems certain to force down the price of all new and used light SUVs. The X240 is a pivotal vehicle because it's probably the forerunner of a juggernaut as big as the 1960s Japanese invasion. Have you seen any new toasters or power tools lately that were made anywhere other than China?

    According to Wikipedia:

"In Australia, the Hover is badged Great Wall X240"
