August 30th, 2009 11:08 PM #81Yes, as some says, mas matibay ang GWPeri than some other counterparts from other brands. It is also because it was engineered using German standards as it was really planned to be used for the German stunts. Also it aims for the European market. Whenever I travel to Europe, I seldom see huge cars. Majority of cars in the streets are tiny cars.
Yes, cool bear is really really great. I will definitely get one for myself. I tried it sa 'Proving Ground' ng Great Wall Motor sa Baoding, China. PArang race track sya na may iba ibang scenarios. May part dun na parang si Lightning McQueen sa cars na nakatagilid ka nang tumatakbo coz ang road is nasa side. But you will have to run more than 120 Kph para hindi ka tataob.
Somebody has to teach me how to post photos in this forum so that I can share some with you.

August 30th, 2009 11:13 PM #84Hi eggman!
Dadating tayo dyan. Pick-up kasi is the most marketable vehicle in our country (historically speaking) especially in the provinces.
But everything else will follow. Isa isa lang. Limited ang resources. We should move slowly but surely. Sabi nga ng Great Wall Motor China, "Improving Little by Little Everyday."

August 30th, 2009 11:16 PM #85Thank you for the comment. GWPeri is the counterpart of Hyundai i10, not the Florid.
Regarding the price, we can still make major adjustments pag mag CKD (Completely Knocked Down) na. CBU (Completely Built Up) kasi kaya sobrang mahal ng taxes. Kaya minamadali namin mag SKD then eventually CKD.

August 30th, 2009 11:27 PM #86My friend, it is not based on luck. It is based on price, performance, aftersales support and commitment to excellence of the company and continued patronage of the market. Great Wall Motor Company Ltd (China) is far more liquid and has more money that Toyota Motor Company (Japan). With more money, anybody can do more research and development. Technology could be leveraged. Take note, GWM did not start from scratch. It ventured with Toyota, patterned its operations, production and technology on Toyota, and then improved and developed on top of it.
The only reasons why GWM is cheaper in terms price are because labor costs and cost of materials in China is far cheaper than anywhere in the World. If all costs are equal, Great Wall vehicles would have been more expensive than Toyota considering the technology that it is equipped with.
Of course, everybody is entitled to his/her own opinion. Only time will tell.

August 30th, 2009 11:32 PM #87That's good for you. No body is stopping you from buying Hyundai i10 or any other brand. I own and use other brands also. Great Wall is just another great alternative for everyone else to explore. What's important is that the ones selling it is more than willing to buy the products for everyday use.
