I will not suggest using clay for asphalt and bugs. In fact, san ka ba nakakuha ng bug marks? Those are infrequent sa Metro Manila but should be rather common if you're doing provincial trips.
For asphalt, use kerosene to soften them and just remove them using water (use your fingernails or a terry if needed).
Truthfully, I will not recommend purchasing a clay bar. I personally find it more attractive to simply let a detailing shop do your claying even if you consider the "patong" they do.
Why?
- You'll run out of QD as lubrication unless you have a lot of them. I'd say after 2-3 applications, ubos na probably QD mo.
- One mistake and you're out. Dropped the clay? That's good as throwing it out na.
- You only clay like every quarter. In fact, I only clay once or twice a year.
P.S. Patanong na rin kay Sir Ed kung may mga exotic waxes siya on sale![]()

QC area ako sir, tapat ng sm north.
there will come a time you will grow over your itch sa pag-detail. as long as I have it applied with sealant or wax I know protected na yung paint. mostly naman ng swirls at minor scratches nakukuha sa washing. if you are fond of those car wash shops sa mga gilid ng daan then most likely candidate yung car mo sa swirls
i'd rather wash my cars or if nasa abroad ako its my wife duty to do it lols! as long as you know the proper washing and drying then ma-minimize mo naman yung swirls. enjoy detailing guys...
