The Internet-demanded, partially scientific testing of Ultra-Ever Dry (in HD!)

The Internet-demanded, partially scientific testing of Ultra-Ever Dry (in HD!) | Ars Technica

    What we didn't test

I did not apply Ultra-Ever Dry to my car, because I'm not insane. I also didn't apply it to anything that I would regularly be touching or interacting with.

    What we learned

Ultra-Ever Dry is amazing stuff, but its applicability isn't universal. You need respiratory, skin, and eye protection to apply it, along with a well-ventilated area in which to do the application (doing it anywhere inside your house or apartment is, frankly, ludicrous). You don't want to put it on anything that's going to come in contact with your body. You don't want to put it on anything you're going to cook with, eat with, or anything you have to see through. You also shouldn't put it on plants, pets, or your children, no matter how awesome you might think the results would be.

So it's fun, but is it worth it?

My opinion is that Ultra-Ever Dry is of limited personal usefulness. Aside from maybe your driveway, there aren't a lot of things in the average person's house where the coating would be both cost effective and safe. Its industrial and commercial applications are obviously a lot broader—and it's priced to reflect that.

The way I understand it, use NanoSiL if your car has minor scratches and swirls. It fills in the surface so hides paint defects and then seals it (puts a layer on top). You can think of it sort of polish step but without abrasion. If your car has deeper scratches and swirls, use both NanoFiL + NanoSiL. Think of NanoFil as sort of compound step but without abrasion.

Jetseal being a paint sealant is already an LSP (Last Step Product). You do not need to put anything on top of it. Collinite 845 Insulator Wax is also an LSP. Putting it on top of Jetseal is already redundant. So just choose either Jetseal or Collinite 845 as your last step.

    Wash
    Clay
NanoFiL* (Optional for deeper scratches and swirls)
    NanoSiL
    Jetseal or Collinite 845

    NanoFiL (Microtex Step 1)

NanoFiL is the ultimate filler formulated with advance technology to achieve that instant detailed finish. Reduce hours and hours spent on compounding and polishing without reducing paint. It removes minor stains, light oxidation, and car leaving a smooth, slick, deep showroom finish.

    -Self-Leveling Filler
    -Instant Detailed Finish
    -Deep Showroom Shine
    -Fills Surfaces without reducing paint

    NanoSIL (Microtex Step 2)

NanoSiL is the fastest one-step formula to achieve the high definition finish with unbelievable depth and clarity

-Fortified with crystal seal technology to fill and seal scratches and swirlmarks
-Deposits crystal polymers preventing further damage
-Perfect for light or dark colored cars

Yes. Actually, it is recommended to use spray wax after every car wash. This helps prolong your sealant plus maintains your car's look.

try mo ipaayos sa mga Paintless Dent Removal shops or provider. they do house calls also. syang naman ipa repaint buong hood. kaya nila alisin yang dent.

this is just ratio of product vs water. get your self a measuring cup or bottle.

1:16 means 1 part product and 16 parts water.

    1 ml ONR + 16 ml water
    10 ml ONR + 160 ml water
    20 ml ONR + 320 ml water
    and so on..

1:32 means 1 part product and 32 parts water.

    1 ml ONR + 32 ml water
    10 ml ONR + 320 ml water
    20 ml ONR + 640 ml water
    and so on..

1:64 means 1 part product and 64 parts water

    1 ml ONR + 64 ml water
    10 ml ONR + 640 ml water
    20 ml ONR + 1280 ml water
    and so on..

depende sayo anong panukat o pantakal gusto mo gamitin, pwedeng kutsara, baso, bote

say kutsara, para masiyahan ka magbilang

1 kutsarang ONR: 16 kutsarang tubig (cleaning QD)
1 kutsarang ONR: 32 kutsarang tubig (Rinseless Wash)
1 kutsarang ONR: 64 kutsarang tubig (Clay lube)

tama ba sir itong gagawin ko , plan ko gawin this weekend sana hindi umulan ..

mamaya palang ako bibili ng mga kulang ko na gamit ( claybar kit, klasse twins and 476)

    wash > clay > wash > kaio + ksg then after 8-12hrs > 476

question ko lang sir, yung microtex wash and wax ang gagamitin ok lang ba yun or dapat walang kasamang wax kasi aalisin din ni KAIO yun? parang nabasa ko rin meron na kasamang pang wash yung sa mothers clay bar kit.

What if after ko ma-apply yung kaio+ksg umulan, kailangan ko ba i-reapply ulit or no need na?

At times, I feel that both Klasse and Collinite are too OP nowadays. In fact, a lot of car washes now have them on stock wherein Collinite used to be quite a "rare" wax before. And sometimes, I feel that people are bashing waxes just because they're famous and not. "Pare, tignan mo wax ko.. collinite yan!" and all I can think is "right... like I can differentiate."

I will repeat: Just use waxes that you feel you want. When it comes to shine, gloss, depth, etc. these are more of a result of prep work than the actual wax or sealant used and with all waxes and sealants there are always trade-offs. You want more gloss? You give up durability. You want more durability? You give up more gloss. You can't really have both.

Which reminds me.. I just bought a 3M Perfect Show Car Wax (it's actually a LSP sealant) was just today at ACE Hardware since I found it selling at a discount (it's now around Php500). This is actually kinda competitive since Autogeek sells them for around Php 550 without factoring the cost. Would have bought the glaze if not the fact that I'm not a fan of them though layering these two should prove to be quite a stunner on any car.

P.S. Is anybody selling some ounces of their Meg's M26? Pabili naman especially if you have the 128oz one.. that one is a super bargain really

So yeah, I don't have a wax on (for 3 months na..) and my last polish was more than half a year ago. Effects of some tender loving care in its early years I guess. I need a cleaner though..

^thanks ulit sir, excited na ko bukas.. I'll meet sir ED mamaya para sa 476 and KAIO +KSG.

kakayanin ba ng clay yung mga asphalt/bug? or kailangan ko bumili ng separate pang tangal nun pag di kinaya?
