*crosswind: ScratchX 2.0 can be applied by hand or machine. gamit ka ng foam applicator pad or micro fiber cloth.
*crosswind: ito bang Paint Restoration Kit ang ask mo? yes, the products can be applied by hand or machine. if you apply Ultimate Compound by hand, you need to exert more force to work the product. using DA polisher is recommended for optimum result.

Question mga paps, sabi sa pinagka-car washan ko, tanggal na daw top coat ko sa hood. What does it mean? Anong pwedeng gawin para maibalik un? Dont want to repaint it since wala pamg repainted panel sa car ko..
In a two-stage paint system, Top coat = Clear coat. It is colorless and is actually thicker than your base coat. If clear coat is gone, the base coat can be harmed. It will oxidize more quickly and will be prone to fade. Repainting the panel will fix this.
How to test if car still has clear coat? Wipe the panel with polishing compound or scratch remover or cleaner wax. If you find color on the applicator pad, then the base coat is already exposed. The color you're seeing is the pigment transferring from the paint to your applicator pad.
In photo below, the white applicator pad shows red pigments from the car. This means there is no clear coat.

^yes, you can use rubbing compound for testing. mas aggressive nga lang siya kaysa polish.

since your active in this thread that states that you know alot about
paints and detailing
May I ask you
what's the difference of faded paint and oxidated paint and
how will I know if it's faded or oxidated?
Faded paint looks dull or dim.
Oxidized paint looks dull and cloudy/hazy. Some may also show sign of clear coat failure.
Faded paint and oxidized paint can be fixed by compounding and/or polishing.
Clear coat failure can only be fixed by repainting the panel. The problem is already IN the paint, not only ON the paint surface.

*crosswind: It is hard to see in the photo as i can see the reflection of the car cover on the paint.
Oxidation is more common to single-stage paint system while clear coat failure is more common to two-stage paint system. Generally, oxidation will cover the whole panel while clear coat failure can either affect small areas or the whole panel.
Causes of clear coat failure:
1. Thin clear coat (wet sanded too far)
2. Frequent sun exposure
3. No protection -- wax/sealant (most common reason)
4. Paint has dried out
Here's a car that shows early stage of clear coat failure. The middle area of the hood is becoming cloudy/hazy but not yet flaking or peeling off.

i think its not even a case of fading and oxidation, but i see watermarks that already etched on the paint. compounding and polishing/finishing may remedy the problem. i think kaya yan ng M105/M205 combo. an application of sealant after will protect the paint from further damage.
