i agree with you bro, ang nagsasabing matagtag ang fort ay yung d naman nka fort, like my neighbor sabi nya matagtag ang fort nung tinanung ko kung naka sakay na sya ng fort ang sabi nya hindi pa eh pano nya alam na matagtag angfort ni hindi pa pala nakasakay. what i mean here is ang mga sinasabi ng iba ay puro hearsay lang right now im enjoying my ride and cant wait for the next day

OO, nga mga pare ko puro hearsay lang cla kaya ang masasabi ko why not test drive muna bago cla mag comment, really im not a liar i dont even use nitrogen air for my tire, which is somebody advise me, i just maintain my tire pressure sa 28-29 psi.ok na, fell ko nga im still driving my 2002 altis 1.6g, Sya nga pala im from Batangas kaya sa startoll lagi ang rota ko going always to sta. rosa bcoz i have a house in bel-air.

according to my source at TMP masyado pa marami ang stock ng toyota na 2.5D4D nd ginagamit sa fortuner,hilux at innova. nung lumabas ang fort nung 2005 gumawa ng maraming 2.5D4D ang toyota ksi alam nila malakas sa market ang diesel pero iba ang dinikta ng market almost 60% ng fort ay 2.7vvti the rest ay 2.5d4d at 3.0d4d kaya expect natin matagal pa sa market 2.5d4d. IMo bro go for 2.7vvti its worth your hard earn money. good luck bro

Thanks for that, pero sayang naman kung hindi nila ilabas agad kahit para sa Fortuner at Hilux G man lang. They can keep the old 2.5 for the Hiace and the Innova naman eh at least para makapagkompetensya sa kalaban.

2.7G vs 3.0d4d 310k
considering napili mo 2.7G vvti with a price difference of 50k.
50k worth of unleaded gas is equals to 1250 liters
if you only average 100liters per mo. this means your 1year use is free
sa gas (not to mention na mas mababa sa maintenace ang gas).
syempre kung diesel naman ang pinili mo which has a 10pesos
price difference, this is only minimal compare mo dun sa savings mo na 50k

Thanks for the explanation and everything but I never mentioned I was in the market for a new Toyota Fortuner anyway. I just want to be updated as to what's happening in the market so to speak. Anyway, I wouldn't consider a Fortuner, I already have an Innova. Way more practical, only downside is that the Fortuner looks better.

I've been going back and forth between the 2.5 D4D or 2.7 VVTI and the projected fuel savings are a very powerful argument especially for me who drives from Bulacan to Makati daily. I'm just wary of the choking, hard-starting and emissions issues with the D4D. I've read somewhere that Toyota had fixed the problems beginning with the 2006 models.

Have any owners of 2006 and newer 2.5 D4D models experienced these problems? Thanks for the help in advance. Hope to join you guys as a proud Fortuner owner sometime soon.

I've been driving an Innova D-4D and what I do is I fill up in the newer gasoline stations just as a precaution. Hopefully hindi naman maabutan kasi 2008 model na rin naman yung amin *Knocks on wood*. Besides that, the 2.5 D-4D's a top performer, pretty smooth and powerful at the same time.

well said sir, but in my case i only average 600km/mo. malapit lang ksi bussines ko sa house ko, and considering most car owners keep their car for 3yrs only (sigurro case to case basis sa paggamit ng car) kaya nasabi ko na mat may savings sa gas variant. tnx bro

+ the dodgy diesel which is sold here. It's fine for jeeps, but not ideal for P1.4M+ SUV's!

My sister has a 2.7 VVTI and I've driven it regularly. Problema lang talaga e mataas ang gas consumption. Not ideal for me who drives long distances daily to and from work. Thanks for your input though. I'm steadily gaining confidence that the D4D problems are not as bad or as widespread as they seem.
