sean_jedi, how much did you get the Harman Kardon for? San din nakakabili? Searched it sa web and it looks cool!Originally Posted by sean jedi
Has anyone tried the Peripheral Electronics device that Maxx Energie offers? It directly controls the ipod from the stock HU of the Fortuner. I just don't know how easy or difficult it will be to navigate the ipod though. Sana nagagamit niya yung rotary knob ng HU much like the touch sensitive wheel ng ipod.
I got a Peripheral interface from Maxx Energie. It allows partial control of the ipod through the HU. Keeps the iPod charged, as well. No need to replace the stock HU. Very happy with it... Sound is way better than FM transmitter type interfaces.Originally Posted by franci_rod
THe rotary knob in the stock HU has no control of the iPod. It's the disk down button that controls the album search (oneway only) on your selected playlist. The track search buttons control song selection up and down your selected playlist. You still have the option to choose playlists and songs through your iPod, but volume control is transferred to the HU.![]()
i'm getiting my fortuner tomorrow (mamaya pala, madaling araw na), grey mica 2.7 vvti, i also want to install my ipod to the oem hu... kamusta yung maxx energie? okay ba? how much pala? nakita ko sa website nila na local company pala yon, pero wala yung fortuner dun sa list ng vehicles na pwede... kinuha mo ba yung para sa 4runner? kasi if it's expensive bibili na lang ako ng bagong hu coz i read somewhere in this thread na nagbebenta naman ang toyota ng mounting bracket and housing for a single din hu..... sa pasong tamo lang pala ofc nila malapit lang sa toyota so i might pass by after getting my new ride... thanks.Originally Posted by vicoyski

magulo talaga ang instructions. You can bring it back to the casa if all else fails.Originally Posted by normel
Had my 1000km checkup this morning at QA, arrived at 6:45am and was immediately registered, was finished by 9:00am, total cost 5011.50. Used 8 cans of toyota branded synthetic oil.
Believe me, you're better off with the horn alert OFF. Some guys here are asking how to turn it OFF. You're the first guy I've heard who's asking how to turn it ON.Originally Posted by normel

Medyo expensive nga sya... The cost of the Peripheral Interface for the Fortuner OEM HU, if I remember it right, is P10.5T at Maxx Energie . Just call them to confirm. That's inclusive of the installation. Sandali lang instalation eh. Around 30 minutes. I have no idea whether it's for the 4runner or not. All I know is that it works with the Fujitsu Ten OEM HU.Originally Posted by bogey
You can try the PIE interface. It costs around P5T. Kaya lang, it doesn't charge the iPod. But, it's still direct connection to the HU by wire and offers the same quality of sound.![]()

got my fortuner kanina... 2.7g grey mica... fyi... yung maxx energie na ipod adapters are 5.5t.. mahal din pala... might as well get a new hu na lang na masmaganda... also the housing for non oem stereos are available na sa mga accessories dealer niyo for 900 pesos...although di ko pa siya nakikita
I retained the OEM HU, in my case. Type ko kasi how the green LCD display screen goes well with the climate control screen.Originally Posted by bogey

peeps, bad trip pala mag-change ng spare tire. i accidentally ran over a piece of wood with nails. heard a hissing sound afterwards so decided to change the tire. grabe, nakakainis ibaba yung spare tire using the steel stick with the hook in the end. you'll have to "feel" the end hook to "lock" with whatever coz you can't see where to lock it. also, nakakanerbyos gamitin yung small jack. parang hindi stable. baka kasi biglang bumagsak yung sasakyan while changing the tire. sanay kasi ako gamitin yung small alligator jack ko. peeps, i suggest you try practicing changing your spare tire, you'll need an extra shirt, wipes, a rag and a ton of patience. :arghhh:
mahirap talaga mag change tire kapag nasa ilalim ang spare, experienced it once already sa pickup. dba katulad pag nasa likod lang ang gulong.
and yes the small jack is very dangerous. you have to be very very patient using that parang hindi kakayanin talaga.

Believe me, there's no static whatsoever. The interfaces (PIE & Peripheral) make use of the OEM HU's CD Changer Input. So, you actually get to use your iPod as a CD Changer. The OEM HU also has a Subwoofer OUT (RCA), which you can still use to set-up your Low-Freq Bass preference. Madali lang i-pull-out yung dashboard portion that surrounds the HU, for you to access the HU. Go check it out for yourself. It might save you tons of money.Originally Posted by bogey
